Wednesday Musings

It's Wednesday already, time is just going by way too fast and the list of things to do is growing!  More mild temps in the forecast again today.  Today I am sharing another holiday card that I created, I really need get my cards done so I can get them I the mail early.  Today I am sharing a card that has been in my head for a while but I'm not sure if I like the outcome, looking at it now I see where I could have made some changes.   I used  a Darice snowflake embossing folder, cuts from the Joys of the Season and Christmas Cheer cricut cartridges and a Hero Arts sentiment stamp that I heat embossed.  I am sharing this card for the Anything Goes Challenge #23 over at Cardz TV, the Snow Much Fun Challenge #331 over at Shopping Our Stash  and the  heat embossed challenge #290 from Use Your Stuff.  Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday.

Great Big Hug

Hello and happy Monday, more nice temps in our area today.  The weekend went by so fast and even though today is a holiday I'm at work and I have lots to do.  Today I am sharing a LO that I put together using a picture of my SIL with out daughter, this is one of my favorite pictures!  I used some paper that has been in my stash for a while, I purchased only a few sheets and I can't think of manufacturer right now;  everything used on this LO has been in my stash for a long time.  I am sharing this LO for the February Tic Tac Toe Stash Challenge over at Scrap Our Stash.

Diagonal:  I used a doily, some wood veneer hearts and a tag.

First Love

Hello Monday and I am back today to share one of my favorite LOs.  Today I am sharing a LO that I started last week for the Friday Night Chat over at Scraps of Color but as life would have it I didn't get it finished in time.  So I am sharing it for the Freestyle challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.  I am also sharing it for the monthly stash challenge over at Scrap Our Stash.  The challenge is to create a LO using an item from your stash using the letters from the word LAYERS.  I used the following items from my stash (L) Love & label, (A) American Craft wood veneers, (Y) yellow, (E) Ephemera, (Eddie & Esperanza in the picture), (R) Recollections card stock and (S) sun.

I sure hope that when the time comes for my daughter to choose her mate she remembers the relationship she shares with her dad, she is a real daddy's girl!  My sister-in-law took these pictures last month while we were celebrating his birthday.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Hello Middle School

This is our daughter's last week of middle school and today I am sharing the first page of her album which I finished on yesterday.   I still need to figure out the date so that I can include it; it has been three years!  The LO uses pictures taken the day she went to shadow another student before she would attend the school the next fall.    This is a bittersweet time for all of us, feelings and emotions running wild since she will be going to high school in the fall!

I am sharing this  LO for this month's word challenge #27 over at Scrap Our Stash.  The challenge is to create a LO using items from your stash for each letter in the word B-R-A-D-S.  I used the following items from my stash:

B - brown card stock, blue pattern paper
R - rhinestones, ribbon
A - arrows, American Crafts thickers
D - die cut,  distress ink (edges of the base)
S - stars, sticker

Thank you for your visit and I hope you will return soon.  Wishing you and yours a wonderful week!

Have Some Cake

This has been a very busy week and I'm in need of some downtime, I've also committed myself to do some training at work on Saturday too.  I don't know what I was thinking since it is homecoming weekend here and we'll be going to Virginia Union University for some of their weekend festivities!

I'm excited to share today's LO for three different challenges.  Scraps of Color week #41 blog challenge was to create a project that included a birthday cake.  Scraps of Color is celebrating its 9th anniversary this month.  The LO uses some pictures that I took last Friday when we went to visit my mom for her birthday.  We always take her a cake from a bakery here, I originally had planned to cut a cake with my cricut.  I just didn't feel like pulling it out, I couldn't believe I didn't have a cake sticker!  Looking at how the picture of the LO came out I am not sure I like it, its one of  those cases where it looks better in person.

The LO's sketch was inspired by October's week #2 LO challenge over at Let's Get Sketchy,  I had fun using last week's sketch so I decided play along again this week.  Finally over at Scrap Our Stash they are having a tic tac toe challenge for this month.  I used the three items from the top row going across which included: buttons, washi tape and chipboard.  All items used have been in my stash for quite some time.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
