Saturday Musings

Hello Saturday, I meant to schedule this post yesterday; I started it but just couldn't get through it.  My heart is heavy and sad as someone dear to me passed unexpectedly yesterday and I woke up this morning not feeling well.  Today's driveby post is a birthday card that I put together using sketch inspiration from  sketch #45 over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  The papers used came from the Studio Calico Darling Dear 6x6 paper pad and the sentiment came from the Hero Arts Happy stamp and die set.  I have mixed feelings about the card and I just might eventually toss it. Thank you for your visit, stay warm and hug your love ones a little tighter.

Friday Musings

Hello and happy Friday, I am so enjoying the mild temps not looking forward  the forecast for hotter temps this weekend.  Today I am sharing a birthday card that I put together after watching one of Mary videos from Cardz TV so I'm sharing it for their Card Crazy Crafters Anything Goes Challenge #3.  I was so tickled that I had everything that she used on her card with the exception of the sentiment stamp!  I really like how it came out and it has already gone postal to the recipient.  I used the All Dressed Up paper pad from DCWV and the Pagoda cricut cartridge for the panda, the googly eyes were in my stash and the sentiment stamp came from one of the stamp sets included with the Artfully Sent cricut cartridge.  Thank you for your visit, have a wonderful weekend.

National Scrapbook Day

Hello and happy NSD! I don't have any scheduled plans for today but chores, rest and play.  I am off to a good start in the play area as I have already created two cards.  Today I am sharing the first card which is a birthday card created with mostly scraps, the pattern paper came from a Becky Higgins Project Life 6x6 paper pad.  I am sharing this card for the CAS-ual Fridays pick 6 birthday card challenge.  I used six butterflies that I punched with a MS punch to which I added some stickles and some Candy Shoppe Jellies.  The stamp used for the sentiment is from the Casual Elegance stamp set from CAS-Hal Fridays.  Take care and enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday Dad

Hello and happy Wednesday, we are still enjoying unseasonably warm temps.  As matter of fact we broke a record yesterday when the temps passed 71 degrees but cooler temps are in the forecast for tomorrow.  Today is my father's 76th birthday so I am sharing one of the cards that I made for him.  It is another one of my signature clean and simple cards where I used paper from my scrap stash, a cut from the Father's Day cricut cartridge and some embellishment dots that I think is from the Nicole line at ACMoore.  I am sharing this card for the Cardz TV Anything Goes Designer's Challenge #2, if you are looking for some great inspiration you should head over to their blog!  Thank you for your visit and I hope you'll come back soon.

Happy 16th Birthday

Hello and happy Monday, today we are celebrating the 16th birthday of our daughter.  I know that this post should have been up but as life would have it I just didn't get it all together.  We had a very busy weekend as her social calendar can be jam packed sometime.  We decided to keep her celebration to a minimum this year.  Since she didn't have school today we spent the day hanging out and enjoying the nice temps.

Happy Birthday Alexia

Hello Monday and Happy Birthday to my sister.  As usual she has to see her card here on my blog first because it didn't go postal in time!  She knows that I love her and my wish for her is that God continues to bless her abundantly.  When making her card I used sketch #305 from Try Stampin' on Tuesday and  pattern paper from My Mind's Eye Life of the Party 6x6 paper pad.  I am so happy that my sister/friend Felisa blessed me with a variety of paper pads and I am going to use them!   The sentiment is from Hero Arts and I used that particular one because it fits her personality.  Thank you for your visit, be safe and enjoy and your week.

Tuesday Musings

Hello and happy Tuesday, I'm really late posting as I forgot to do it last night and it has been a busy day at work!  Today I am sharing a card that I put together last night using sketch #304 from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  I used paper from the My Minds Eye, A Happy Heart (6x6 pad),  some Teresa Collins enamel dots and a gift die that I cut using my SLICE machine.  My heart is also doing a happy dance because one of my scrappin' besties blessed me with a loaded box of goodies that included the paper and stamps that I used on this card.  Thank you for your visit and I hope you'll return soon!

Holiday Weekend

Hello Saturday, I slept in a little this morning since I was up well past midnight and I am still feeling like I need to be in bed!  We have a wintry mix in some areas but not so much here so we won't be in the house all day like last Saturday.    I need to get moving so I won't be rushed when I have to go out today.  Today I am sharing another birthday card that I put together using sketch inspiration from sketch #204 from  CAS(E).   I also used one of the Richard Garay stamp/die sets that I picked up on clearance at HL earlier this week, Studio G pattern paper, sequins and a sentiment.  Take care and enjoy your holiday weekend.

Tuesday Musings

Hello and happy voting day, it took me a little less than an hour from start to finish!  I'm back today to share a birthday card that I made for one of my daughter's friends who turned 16 last week.  She is really into sneakers (her uncle works for Nike)  and her favorite color is green.  The sneaker pattern paper is another sheet from the DCWV Teenage Dream Stack,  this stack is turning out to be one of my go to stacks!  Twine and a stamp that has been in my stack for a while completed this card.  Take care and have a terrific Tuesday.

Daddy and Me

This month is flying by and I haven't been able to craft as much I'd like because of everything that we've got going on.  Since Father's Day just passed I wanted to share these two pictures.  The top picture is of my daughter's and her dad while we were out celebrating her  birthday in February.  The other picture is of me and my dad on Father's Day while we were waiting to be seated when we took him to lunch on Sunday.  My daughter and her father has a special bond for which I am thankful so that when it is time for her to choose a mate I hope the standard has been set.  As for me and my father our relationship is special in its on way as I wasn't the only daddy's little girl.  Thank you for your visit, wishing you a beautiful day!

Easel Card

Hello Wednesday, I hope you are having a beautiful week, today we are expecting temps in the 80s so I'm looking forward to that.  Life has been happening so my carftin' time has been very limited, LOs are my first passion but cards seem to be dominating my time right now.  Today I'm shairng a card that I started for one of the NSD challenges on the cricut messageboard but didn't get a chance to finish it until now.  It is my first try at making an easel card, I think it came out okay and I'm glad that I decided to step out of my comfort zone to make it.  Everything that I used has been in my stash for quite sometime.  Now I hope it travels well and makes it to its destination in tact.

Happy Birthday

Today we're celebrating the birth of our baby girl; twelve years ago on this day God blessed us with a miracle.   A blessing indeed, the apple of her dad's eyes, a precious gem to her big brother and  her mother's very own princess.  We are so thankful and happy that she is a part of our family.  She's been stalking the mailbox all week and she should have lots of wishes today, I even put a card in the mail to her.    Today I'm sharing the birthday greeting that she seen when she went into her bathroom this morning, I usually put a sign on the mirror but I decided to make this chipboard crown this time.  I can't even remember which cartridges I used because I was in such a hurry trying to do it without her seeing it! My baby is growing up!  Happy 12th Birthday Princess Hope!

Happy Birthday

Today in honor of my DH's birthday I'm sharing one of the LOs that will be included in his accident recovery album. We are grateful for the progress made in this journey and thankful for the milestones. Although he'll never be 100% we still rejoice in all blessings. I'm also sharing one side of the altered CD that DD gave him.

Happy 70th

Today's is my father's 70th birthday and I'm bubbling with joy. I'm happy because I still have my father here on earth with me and because he has been a blessing to our family. He adores and cherishes his only grandaughter and treats her like she's the one and only. This is a picture of them on Sunday when they came to visit while we were having lunch at O'Charleys (her favorite restaurant). They were doing the children's menu activities. I am thankful for both my parents, I love them dearly and I probably don't tell them enough.

Happy Monday

We had a busy weekend celebrating our daughter's 10th birthday. What an exciting time she's in double digits now and I've got lots of pictures to scrap. She celebrated with her friends at Panera Bread and Build-a-Bear Workshop on Saturday. On yesterday which was her actual birthday we went out to lunch with my parents. We had so much fun and everyone had a blast since we haven't been able to visit my parents in a few months and DD is always showered with lots of love when she gets to see them!

Dinner Celebration

Photobucket
I am happy to report that this is my 20th completed LO for 2010! I completed and submitted this LO for a challenge over at SOC as part of their Technique Tuesday challenges. In keeping with the celebration of DD's 9th birthday this LO includes the picture taken on her actual birthday. Due to a snow storm we had to reschedule her party but DH shoveled us out enough so that we could take her out to her favorite place to eat O'Charleys!

Happy Birthday

Photobucket
The pictures in this LO were taken at my birthday celebration earlier this month. I was totally surprised and caught off guard as my son planned this special celebration for me! He was actually able to pull off the surprise of all surprises which makes this birthday the best ever!
