Father's Day

The year is really flying by we are two weeks into July already!  I hate the fact that I may have to step  away from scrappin' for a bit while I get my house in some order.  I just really need to devote some much needed time to taking care of home and I'm just not "superwoman."  So today I'm sharing the LO that I created using some of the pictures that I took for Father's Day.  The sketch from the LO is my latest in the Anytime, Anywhere Scrapbooking Experience Challenge hosted by Tiare over at iclassygirl.  Over at Scraps of Color we are also scrappin' or stash and this month we are using metal; so I added a metal heart to this LO.

Hello July

I am happy to report that I met my deadline and have finished our daughter's 5th grade album!  We have been at a family reunion so I had to bring the remaining pictures and some scrappin' stuff with me.  I packed in a hurry so of course I didn't have what I wanted to use once I got started but I managed to finish after a trip to the store, I spent less than $10.  I finished three layouts this weekend, today I'm sharing the layout that uses miscellaneous pictures taken thoughout the school year.  I normally try to use pictures that haven't been used in previous LOs.  This simple 2- page layout uses glittered background paper (99 cents from Target), cardstock from the DCWV rick rack paperstack, colorbok letters for the title and embellishments from my stash.

Last Call

I have been on a roll trying to finish our daughter's 5th grade album and I'm happy to report I am down to the final two 2-page LOs.  This has indeed been a task trying to get this done by a self imposed deadline; I meant to share this LO yesterday but as life would have it; I never got around to posting.   So today's LO is of our daughter receiving her culmination certificate and  the principal's award as part of the last call  of their culmination ceremony.  We are so proud of the person she's growing up to be; we've just got to keep her covered in prayer.  The paper is from one of the DCWV stacks and the title was cut with the SLICE.  The embellishments are from a Jolees sticker pack, another simple LO done with a sketch from the Anytime, Anywhere Scrapbooking Experience Challenge.  The challenge is being hosted by Tiare over at iclassygirl and the completion of this sketch brings me current with this challenge!

The Last Days

Hello Monday, today's LO uses random pictures taken of our daughter her last two weeks of elementary school.  The original idea was to document the last 10 days by photographing her as she left each morning but it just didin't work out that way.  The sketch is another one in the Anytime, Anywhere Scrapbooking Experience challenge being hosted by Tiare over at iClassygirl. The pattern paper is from the DCVW grade school stack and the title was cut with the cricut (can't remember the cartridge) and other misc. embellishements.  I'm always trying to use my scraps and my stash only purchasing whats necessary!

Farewell Dear Brother

Today I'm sharing another LO using one of the sketches in the Anytime, Anywhere Scrapbooking Experience. It is sketch number 18 for 2012 as shared by Tiare over at iClassygirl. The LO uses pictures of my dad along with his brothers singing at their oldest brother's homegoing service. It was a moving tribute to my uncle Willis whom we all fondly called "Blue." The title was cut from two different cricut cartridges and one of the SLICE cards. I used the Create-a-Critter cartridge for the first time.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my dad, husband and father-in-law; I doubt either of them will be visiting my blog today. Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my daughter to send to my dad, I hope he received it in time as I'm not planning to visit him today. I'm just too tired and need to rest. Anyway I hope all father's have a blessed day. I used the cricut father's day cart for the sentiment and I think the truck came from the heritage cart, it is a diecut that I received in a swap sometime ago.

Daddy's Scholar

Today I'm sharing a LO using pictures taken earlier this week at our daughter's awards ceremony. We were so proud as she received awards for academic excellence, perfect attendance and being a morning announcer. Yesterday, they had their culmination and it was a real moving ceremony. The children and teachers shared some really nice tributes that had almost everyone in tears. The inspiration sketch for this LO was #324 posted over at Sketch Inspiration.
