CIU #302 - Starts with the Letter B

Hello and happy Friday, looking forward to the weekend!  Today's project is for the Cut it Up challenge blog; the theme for challenge #302 is starts with the letter B.  I chose the word books and I created a layout.

When putting my layout together I used papers from an old Dear Lizzy She's Magic 12x12 paper pad.  I also used one of the cut-a-parts from the pad, cut the owl and books using a die set; used several alphabet stickers or the title.  This is one of my projects where I don't think the picture does it justice; it looks better in person.  I created this layout because I recently started a challenge where I am going back to one of my favorite past times, reading books; I love to turn pages; don't care to read books my electronic devices.  I'm sharing this project for the Anything Goes challenge #254 over at Crafty Gals Corner.

I hope you will visit the Cut it Up challenge blog for more starts with a B inspiration, create and share your project.  The challenge starts today and ends Wednesday,  May 1, 2024 at noon PST.

Thank you for your visit, take care and hurry back soon!

Wednesday Musings

Hello Wednesday morning, doing a quick drive by post as I have been up since 3:30 am and I want to go back to bed.  Today's project share is a card that I put together for the @2crafters1design and @satmornmakes over on YT and  IG.  I am late posting but since I started it I just finished, last week's challenge was umbrella; I used the Spellbinder's umbrella die that had been sitting in my stash unused for probably a year.  I just pulled some random papers together from my stash, stamped a sentiment from a Fiskars stamp set and added a few Stampin' Up gems and this card was finally done.  I'm sharing this card for the Anything Goes challenge #75 over at The Creative Crafters and the April challenge over at A Perfect Time to Craft.

Thank you for your visit, continue to be safe; I hope you will visit again soon!

CIU #301 - 3-2-1

Hello and happy Friday, let the weekend begin!  Today' project share is my latest design team project for the Cut it Up challenge blog.  The theme for challenge #301 is 3 - 2 - 1 ( 3 gems, 2 die cuts and 1 sentiment).

Not sure why this was a struggle for me but after a few attempts I decided to share this thank you card.   I used  3 Stampin' Up gems, a gift bag die and I stamped the sentiment on a stitched rectangle die cut.  I failed miserably at not adding items to my stash, this was my first time using the bag die, I did use  papers from the My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose 6x6 paper pad, it has been in my stash for a very long time. The sentiment is from a Spellbinders stamp set.

I hope you will visit the Cut it Up challenge blog for more inspiration, create and share your 3-2-1 themed project.  The  challenge starts today and ends on Wednesday,  April 17, 2024 at noon PST.

Thank you for your visit, continue to be safe and hurry back soon!

CIU #300 - Happy Birthday

Hello Friday and let the weekend begin!  Today at the Cut it Up challenge blog we are celebrating our 300th challenge by sharing our birthday themed projects.

When creating my project I decided to step out of my comfort zone by doing some things a little different from my usual clean and simple style. So off to YT University for some ideas that included using some of my unused stash!  I created the background by inking some clouds, adding some word stamping and finally  some splatter.  I used some TH salvaged patina distress ink and splatter.  I even made my own cloud stencil. Cut the balloons, added some burlap twine, made a bow and added to the card with some adhesive foam. The word happy was leftover from a previous project, added a few gems and the card was done!  I am sharing this card for the Anything Goes challenge #121 over at Crafts Galore  and the monthly challenge over at Die Cut Divas.

I hope that you will visit the Cut it Up challenge blog for more design team inspiration  as we have some guest designers that have joined us for our 300th challenge.  Create and share your birthday themed project, the challenge starts today and ends Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at noon PST.

Thanks for your visit,  take care and hurry back soon.

You're a Classic

It's Saturday night and I am back with my second share of the day.  This card was created using inspiration from one of the design team members over on Just Us Girls, the theme for challenge #716 was to CASE a one of their design team members.  Again I reached for papers that was used from recent projects with the exception of the vinyl that I used for the records.  Now that I am thinking about I do have some mirrored cardstock that I could have used.  The stamp and die set is an unbranded set that I had in my stash.  I also embossed the white layer with a sheet music folder which is hard to see in the picture even though I did ink it lightly.  This is one of those cards that look better in person.  I also shred this card for the music themed challenge hosted by 2crafters1 design over on YT and IG.

Continue to be safe and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hello and happy Friday, life has been a little wild lately but I'm pressing on.  Today's project share is my design team project for the Cut it Up challenge blog.  The theme for challenge #295 is A New Year (use a new tool, design, technique, idea, etc).

In my head I had a lot of things/ideas that would meet the criteria of the challenge theme but as life would have it I created this card using a new cover plate die and some color pops that I had from Scrapbook.com, a free item with a purchase.  So I am happy that I was able to use two new unused items from my stash. This may have been the first time that I tried the inlay technique too! Purple is one of my favorite colors so I just paired it with another sheet of paper that was sitting on my desk from another project. I am sharing my card for the January challenge #119 over at Path of Positivity challenge blog and #58 over at Never Before Used Stuff.

Now that you've seen my project, I hope you will visit the Cut it Up challenge blog for more design team inspiration, we have four new team members that recently joined.  I hope you will be inspired to create and share your  project using  something new from your crafty stash, don't forget to use a die, The challenge starts today and ends, Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at noon PST.
