Let's Celebrate

It's the weekend, a holiday and a time for lots of celebrations and time to create lots of memories!  Today's calendar is filled with birthdays and anniversaries, I won't try to list them all for fear of missing someone.

Album Cover
Today I am  sharing a paper bag album that I made for  my daughter's friend Tiana who is celebrating her 13th birthday today.  They have been friends since PreK so I thought it would be nice to give her something special since she they spend so much time together.  I still have a few things to do before she gives it to her.   The actual album was  a make 'n take project from Cassie's scrapbook retreat earlier this month.  I used a cereal box to make  the covers, random pictures (mostly of them together),  and other misc embellishments.

Early School Memories

I am sharing this project for this week's anything goes blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  Thank you for stopping by, have a wonderful, relaxing and memorable holiday weekend!

Wednesday Wanderings

It's Wednesday and I'm happy to report after two days of not feeling well I'm starting to feel better, I've just been on an emotional roller coaster.  Another nice day temperature wise and I'm forecasting a wonderful day.

Today I'm sharing another card that I made recently and its going postal today, hope it makes it to its destination by Friday.  The sketch inspiration for this card came from sketch #292 over at Clean and Simple Stamping.  I'm also sharing it for week #20 Playing with Purple challenge over at Scraps of Color.  I may make switch the brad in the center of the flower to a pearl since May's birthstone is pearl and I did add some other pearls to the edge punched layer.  The papers used are from the Provocraft celebration pad.

I had to return and edit my post since I noted an error earlier about the pearl being May's birthstone when it is actually June!s birthstone.  The birthstone for May is emerald, thank you MJ for bringing it to my attention.  Sorry about the mix-up  and since you will be receiving the card you will be the only one to see the changes I made.  I forgot to take a picture before putting it in the  envelope  for the final time!  I hope it arrives on time and in tact!

Thank you for stopping by, have a great day!

Celebrate Everyday

It's a cool Tuesday morning but we are expecting warmer temps later today.  I have been working on some LOs but I just can't seem to settle down long enough to finish them.  Today I'm sharing a card that I made for one of my husband's colleagues that will be retiring next month.  The design inspiration was from a video that I watched recently by Catherine Pooler, a SU consultant where she as re-doing a masculine card.

The kraft layer of cardstock was dry embossed and inked, border punched the red strip added two flag pennants and three punched star.  The stamp came from a Hero Arts stamp set, another signature simple card completed!  Wishing you and yours a wonderful day!

Thinking of You

I am not a very good cardmaker but I do what I do!  Today's card is one that has taken many turns before its final version, I think I'm okay with it and it will go postal later today once I write inside.  When it comes to someone losing a love one I never really know what sentiment to use, I just really have a hard time using the word sympathy so most times I just use Thinking of You instead.

I cut the flowers using my cameo, if you are familiar with that file it actually had the flowers in vase.  It was one of the free ones that they offered recently.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the butter flies.  I'm not sure whether you can see it but I did mist the flowers and ran the centers through the cuttlebug!  Nothing fancy but I do like the outcome and I hope it brightens the spirit of the recepient.

Graduation

I have been trying to sneak some play time in anywhere that I can which means little to no sleep, running late to work and housework not being done!  Today's card is  one that I made for my cousin after I received his graduation announcement in the mail earlier this week.

Inspiration for this card comes from sketch #291 over  at Clean and Simple Stamping.  I used  a K&Co designer paper pad, and a Jolee sticker.  The stamp that I used is from Stampin Up, just that simple and it is done, I love their sketches.  I am also sharing this card for this week's blog challenge over  at Scraps of Color.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is Sunday and I have only made a few cards so it looks like I'll be sending out/distributing store bought cards.  All I can say is that I had good intentions!

Today I'm sharing one of the few Mother's Day cards that I did manage to make.  It was a free floral card cut last week from the silhouette online store.  I just added a piece of vellum, the floral corner flourishes also came from the silhouette store, the purple pearls have been in my stash for a while.  The inside sentiment just says Happy Mother's Day!

I'm sharing this card for week #17 blog challenge over at Scraps of Color and the monthly challenge over at Mema's Crafts.  Thank you for your vist, hope you'll come back soon!

Hello Tuesday

I've been a little behind in posting to my blog so I decided to post again today to share another LO that I completed while I was at the crop over the weekend.  Its another signature simple LO using my daughter's spring school pictures.   The pictures are always my focal point so everything else is usually kept to a minimal.  The base of the LO already had a print so I just added a few embelishments.  The title label (love that smile), the star and heart came with the paperpad.  I borrowed the little wooden veneers from Vernetta, another scrapper at the crop.

I'm sharing this LO for the weekly blog challenge over at Scraps of Color for week #18.  I hope to be back tomorrow with another post, I've fallen behind with my challenge posting too.

National Scrapbooking Day

The celebration is coming to an end and I'm not looking forward to this long drive home.   I had a fun time hanging out yesterday for a fun day of scrappin' and socializing, got to meet some new people too.  So today I'm sharing one of the LOs that  I created using  pictures from one my daughter's girl scout events where her troop had a booth where they did a presentation on sugary beverages. Nothing  fancy but another LO done, didn"t do as much as I had on my to list but at least I got something done.  Just need to add the journaling!
