Wednesday Wandersings

It's Wednesday, let the countdown begin!  So much going on this week so prayers and praises being lifted for people, cities, our leaders and the world.  I am joining others in a global prayer for a brave little girl who is battling cancer, it just breaks my heart but I believe in a God that has no limits so he can heal her body.  I'm praying for the city of Baltimore as there is much to be done, lets get busy!

Today's Mother's day card was made using paper scraps from my stash and several of my Spellbinders Nestabilites.  I have lots of stuff in my arsenal but rarely use it.  The pattern paper came from a Basic Grey 6x6 paper pad that I was gifted in a swap a few years ago. I used a MS punch for the butterflies and a stamp for the sentiment.  I am sharing this card for HIMCR #197 any holiday over at Hiding in my Craft Room and Mema's Crafts anything goes April challenge, must use a die or punch.

Take care and have a great day!

BeYOUtiful

Hello Monday, where did the weekend go?  My plans to catch up on some major paper therapy did not happen!  I think I may have to schedule my own National Scrapbooking Day event, as I am way behind.  I would love to be current with my artful scripture journal and my daughter's school album since she will be moving on to,high school.

Today's LO is one that has been siting unfinished for some time, I used my daughter's fall school pictures.  The LO took many turns until I finally decided I need to move on, the sketch inspiration is actually from a card.  In keeping with my scrapping style I didn't include a lot of embellishments because my main focus is always the picture(s).  I used Thickers, paper from the DCWV Indian Summer Fall Stack and Embellishments from Recollections and Kaiser Craft.  This is another one of those LOs that look better in person, oh well it's done and I'm on to the next project!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful week!

Hello Friday

Let the weekend begin, haven't had a chance to really craft or share on my blog.  I am hoping that I can find sometime to play tomorrow as DH and DD have commitments so I'll sneak in some playtime between errands and chores.

Today I am sharing a simple project that I put together last night for my daughter, she wanted to give something to the office staff at school for Administrative Professionals' Week.  I had the clothes pins in my stash that I had picked up from Michael's and just decided to alter them with some lettering and flowers to make a little note holder.  I cut the little file folders using the Fabulous Finds cricut cartridge,  I only had two pins so I just picked up some fresh flowers for the other person and they all received a Starbucks gift card.  I guess I need to start thinking about Teacher Appreciation soon!

Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Feel Better Soon

It rained all day yesterday and they are calling for more rain today.    All I can think about is rain rain go away I've got lots to do.  DH and I are headed north and DD is headed to Virginia Beach for a school trip so of course I'll be on pins and needles the entire time.  Last year when she went on this trip I was able to go down and hang out with her too but since it fell on a weekend where I have another commitment I can't go.  On well it's all a part of growing up!

Today's project is one that I put together using more of my paper scraps from my stash and a few embellishments.  I cut the umbrella using the April Showers cartridge and the sentiment came from the Phrases cartridge.  I am sharing this card for this week's April Showers challenge over at Bitten by the Bug2 and the #195 Super Scraps challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Take care and see the next time!

She's Growing Up

My baby girl has grown up way too fast, she is headed to high school next year.   I think we all are starting to feel some anxiety so I am feeling the urgency to get her pictures scrapped.  I need to get more pictures of her with her grandfather, my FIL who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, please pray for our family.  I need to spend more time with my parents too as time is so precious and it waits on no one.

Today I am sharing a LO using pictures taken of my daughter the morning of her birthday on February 6 as we were heading to the car.  The inspiration for this LO came from Tiare Smith Designs  Desk to Done sketch challenge #53. The base of the LO is corrugated glitter card stock from American Crafts, the title is a file from the Silhouette online store, embellishments include felt fusion and the use of metal brads a frame and a TH word band.  The band reads "encourage your hopes, not your fears."   I am sharing this LO for the Scraps of Color blogger challenge #6 - Use Metal.  LO #17 for 2015 complete and added to her book!

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Wisdom

Today I am sharing another page from my artful scripture journal.  I am little behind so I need to play catch up since I have been trying to get some of my pictures scrapped.  The scripture came from James 1:5, I cut the owl using the Create a Critter cartridge using paper scraps from my stash.  It seems like the more scraps I use the more I find and I have a hard time just simply discarding them.

Thank you for your visit and I hope you will return soon.

Gator Pride

Today, I am happy to share my 16th LO for the year and I like the end result even though I struggled with whether I should add more embellishments.  I used pictures that my daughter took at the end of the cheering season since I didn't get any pictures of her cheering at the games.  I used the Teen Scene cartridge for the cheerleader,  Pretty Pennants for the the banner, Zoo Day for the alligator, Create a Friend for the megaphone  and Artiste for the letters. Wow, five cricut cartridges on one LO, that's probably a first for me!   I used a punch for the stars and the base of the LO is card stock from the DCWV Textures and Finishes paper stack.

Take care and have a wonderful day.

Easter

Happy Easter, wishing you and yours a wonderfully blessed day.  I am sharing today's card for the bunny challenge over at Bitten by the Bug2.  I made this card for my daughter, she has outgrown most of the traditional things that we did when she was younger.  So now she just gets a little gift bag or basket with a few goodies.  The card came together rather quickly once I cut all the layers of the bunny which I used the Create a Critter cartridge.  The paper came from the Making Memories Cheeky 6x6 paper pad, it has been in my stash forever.  Because of the size of the bunny there wasn't much room for much of anything else!  Added a few corner embellishments and a stamped sentiment with a few gems.

Take care and enjoy.

Good Times

We are expecting nice temperatures today even though it is cool outside right now.  It's Thursday which is min-Friday according to one of the anchors on one of the morning news shows.  I'm having mixed feelings as it seems I haven't been able to get as much work done as I had planned since my manager has been out all week on vacation.  Oh well such is life!

Today's LO uses a picture taken of some of the Kappa wives when they went out for lunch after attending church celebrating the Kappa's Founder's Day in January.   I had a schedule conflict so I did not attend.  I have mixed feeling about the LO but I needed to move on; used just one sheet of paper in addition to the card stock base along with a few Prima embellishments and flowers.  The title is a file from the Silhouette online store.

Take care and have a great day.

Hello April

Welcome to another segment of Wednesday Wanderings, I haven't a project to share just some proud parent  musings and a picture of our princess daughter after she ran in her second 10K on Saturday.  I am feeling excited and especially proud as my daughter received her first acceptance letter to one of the high schools here, especially since they only accepted 75 students for their upcoming freshmen class.  She is really growing up so fast, I am really not ready for her to attend high school  but I know she has the covering of the master so she'll be fine as long as she stay grounded in what she has been taught.  She has decided to be an assistant soccer coach for a novice team.  In addition to being a cheerleader she was a manager for the basketball team too, all the while maintaining good grades.

Stay tuned for more baby girl LOs!
