Anniversary Card

I was so exicted to post yesterday's LO that I forgot to share the card that I made for my in-laws.   We all went out to dinner rather than having my mother-in-law cook as we usally go to their house for dinner on Sunday.   They celebrated 52 years of marriage yesterday and I made this card for them.  The inspiration for this card came from CAS(E) and I'll probably use this sketch again later this week for some Mother's Day cards.  All items used came from my stash, the glitter tape is from recollections and the flowers from a RAK that I received from another scrapper!  Its a rainy Monday here so I'll be trying to stay dry!

History LO

I can't believe I finally worked on a LO especially since lately I've only been able to work on cards.  Yesterday I decided I would try to work on a few LOs and I was only able to finish this one this morning before heading out to church.  I just need to add the journaling.  It is a LO using pictures showcasing some of the history projects the students at my daughter's school submitted during February's celebration of Black History Month.  As for me and my house we celebrate black history everyday!   My daughter chose to do her project on the Honorable Cleo Powell, Virginia's Supreme Court first black female justice. I used my cameo to cut the triange flags (not sure I like them on the LO now), used chipboard letters for the title, and other embellishments from my stash.  Have a great week!

Just a Note

Today I'm sharing a card made for another challenge over at Scraps of Color, it is the cricut project challenge.  Since most of us have multiple diecutting machines  challenges are a great way for us to spread the love amongst all of  our scrappin' goodies.  I used the Wild Card 2 cartridge for this card, I like the first wild card cartridge so I decided to get the second  one too.   I just may use it  as a thank you card for Teacher Appreciation  next month.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a blessed day.

Happy Earth Day

Hello Monday in celebration of Earth  Day I'm sharing a project completed for one of this year's monthly challenges over at Scraps of Color called "That's Alterable" and this month we altered a deck of cards. The challenge was to alter at least eight cards and the box and of course I used one of my favorite subjects. I inked the edges of the cards, used a filetemplate shared by Nikki from Snafty to cover the face of the cards, pictures and other misc. embellishments for the backs and the box. Since my cards didn't come with a box I used my cameo to cut a crayon box which was a free file from svgcuts. I like the end result and the projct also received the approval of my daughter!  Have a great week and don't forget to recycle not only today but everyday.

Mother's Day

Last night I was the host for the Friday Night Chat Challenge over at Scraps of Color.  It was just a few of us hanging out and creating  Mother's Day cards/projects.  I still have lots to do so I should have more to share once I'm done.  So today I'm sharing the two cards and ATC that I completed, the ATC challenge was to use just one word to describe your mother.  I chose generous because my mother has a heart of gold not just for her family but her friends and her community.  I am so thankful for my mother!  I'm so glad they finally caught the other bomb suspect, continued prayers for Boston and the law enforcement workers.  So have you started on your Mother's Day projects yet?  Are you celebrating Earth Day today?  Have a great weekend!

Photo Memory Tray

Hello Wednesday, its me "Queen of Simple" when it comes to scrappin' sharing a photo memory tray that I'll be sending to my son.  The tray includes random pictures taken during our recent visit to Pittsburgh to hang out with him.  I am also planning to do a mini album since we  took so many pictures!  The tray included pictures taken at the Science Center, our family picture taken as we were boarding the riverboat on Easter Sunday, a picture of DH, DS, and DD as we were viewing the skyline at night (it was so cold).  The other little picture was one DD and I took in the photobooth in the lobby while we were waiting for our movie to start!  The other two slots were embellished using some of the receipts, part of a wristband and other stuff.  The word family was cut using the Out of Character cricut cartridge.

I'm sharing this project for this month's Anything Goes Challenge over at Mema's Crafts and Week #16 Blog Challenge over at Scraps of Color.  Thank you for stopping by, have a great day!

Hello Tuesday

Just checking  in to say hello and wish everyone a great day.  I like most everyone else can't believe what happened during yesterday's marathon in Boston, prayers and well wishes for those affected.  The big meeting this past weekend went well and I was even recognized for being a "willing worker."  It was a grand event and of course we set the bar high for the next host.  I've been trying to get some scrappin' done but haven't been able to finish anything yet;  need to get my "game plan" together since I'm hositng the FNC over at Scraps of Color this week.

Small Steps

I'm taking small steps as I try to ease back into get more cards made and my scrapbook LOs done.  Today I'm sharing a card that I made using a free svg file from Bird's Cards.  She creates and shares some really nice files, I just used my cameo to cut it and added it to a card base, stamped the sentiment on a spellbinder die and added a little bling and the card was done.  I wanted to post today because I'm not sure I'll have time to post again this week.  I'm really needing to get ready for my busy weekend so that means no craftin' fun.  Have a great day and enjoy the nice temps.

All Done

I am finally done with my volunteer project and will be back to working on my own projects soon.  I have really been giving my cameo a workout!  I am a part of an organization and we are hosting a meeting this weekend so I made notecards, put the logo on hand sanitizer bottles, a cup and a glass block.  It was a lot of work especially the weeding of the vinyl, I can't wait to see the reaction of the participants when they see the handmade items.  I took the picture with my cell phone, I hope the picture is okay.  I hope you have a great week, I am looking forward to the warmer temps.

Family Time

Today I'm sharing a picture of me and my children, we took the picture yesterday on a cruise riverboat.  We went on a Easter dinner cruise that included live entertainment, dancing and a guided tour of the skyline of Pittsburgh.  On Saturday, when we arrived in Pittsburgh we went to dinner, a movie and a late night dessert.  My son has really planned our trip very well and we have thoroughly enjoyed everything we've done.  He has grown up and made us proud, everyone speaks highly of him and tells us how he was well raised and is a hardworker.  He has told us that he won't be totally happy until he is his own boss working for himself!
