The End

It's Monday morning and the weather is wonderful and I'm excited to say I did it, my personal blog challenge in honor of my sister is now done.  Today's post marks the end and I almost didn't make it because my DH was cracking the whip yesterday and made me clean out my car!  So I had to get up this morning and put together this card so I'd have a post today.  I just used some paper scraps, an embossing folder and a few Martha Stewart embellishments.  We have lots of birthdays coming up the next few months so you can never have too many birthday cards.  Thank you for stopping by, wishing you and yours a great week and a wonderful holiday!

Hello Sunday

I have mixed feelings about my personal challenge coming to an end,  I know that my sister is smiling down and cheering that I have kept at it; if only she were here to see.  I'm okay just missing her so, she was my biggest cheerleader!  Today's LO is one that should have been completed some time ago.  For this two page LO I used paper from the DCVW Textures and Finishes stack, I like the look and feel of it so I didn't want to add too much outside of the pictures.  When I scrap I always want the pictures to tell the story so I keep the embellishments to a minimal.  I used my SLICE to cut the lettering and my cameo for the emblem.  Take care and I'll be back tomorrow to share the final project for this challenge!

Red, White & Blue

Hello Saturday, today I'm sharing a simple card that I put together for this week's blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  I am happy to say that I have completed all of the blog post challenges and I am now current!  Now to get through the next few days of my own personal challenge.  Today's card was made using some pattern paper  that was in my scrap drawer along with a file from the Silhouette online store, a little distress ink and a Hero Arts stamp.  Wishing you and yours a great day!

Many Thanks

Hello Friday, thankful for the end of another work week and for a job.  I'm even happier that the weekend is here and I hope to finish and schedule my remaining challenge post so I can take a breather.  I really need to take a crafting break so I can tidy up the house and since I've been driving DH's car he says its a mess!

Today's card is one that I literally started and finished this morning before I came in to work which means I was late.  I used a sketch that was waiting in my inbox from Clean & Simple Stamping, it is sketch #297 that they posted earlier today.  So its a first for me to use a sketch immediately, the flowers are Recollections, the gems are Paper Studio and the stamp from Stampin Up.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Lidia

Today's post is a little late as I finished the LO this morning before heading to work but didn't have time to take the picture!  This LO uses pictures of a sculpture that sits outside the aquarium in Virginia Beach.  On a recent trip while waiting for the rest of the 7th graders to arrive we took pictures of the sculpture and the seals in the outside pool.  Lidia the seal was made from trash that washed ashore from the beach.  The pattern paper is from the K&Co designer pad, the seal was cut using the Zoo Day cricut cartridge and the flower is from the Recollections simply pastel collection.

Whatever Wednesday

Welcome to today's post nothing too exciting going on but lots to do and never enough time. Its warm and humid outside and they are calling for a storm this afternoon.  My neighbor has been in the hospital so I needed to make him a card.  So while I was sitting around on Sunday at my in-laws I decided to make a quick run to the store and get a few things to make him a card, not that I needed anything but I hate sitting around doing nothing when I have a ton of things that I could be doing.  If I had been driving my own car I would have had a craft bag in the trunk, so from this point on when I leave home I'll be sure to grab my bag!  Today's card was  made primarily  from items found at the $1 spot at AC Moore, the only exception being the markers that I used to color the flowers.

Thank You

Today's project is one that I completed for a recent project challenge over at Scraps of Color for the Friday Night Chat Challenge group.  I used the sketch inspiration from Clean & Simple Stamping sketch number 296.  I used a kraft base, a dress form cut from the Artiste cricut cartridge, dry embossing,  roller stamp stitching, ribbon, buttons and pearls. The sentiment is a CTMH stamp.  I'm feeling a little anxious as this challenge nears the end!

Field Trip

Hello Monday, this LO is the last LO for my daughter's 7th grade school year so I'm happy that I have been able to complete that part of her album .  I still have one LO from her 6th grade year to complete, not sure if I'll get to it during this challenge.  Today's LO uses a picture that she took with some of the school mates during a recent field trip to the Aquarium in Virginia Beach   I used some WeR chevron feelin' groovy paper for the base and because of the colorfulness of the picture I didn't want to over embellish the LO. So I just matted the picture, added a flower, ribbon, buttons and thickers for the title.  I like how it came out!

Exclusively for Men

I started this challenge last week with two Father's Day cards so I am back today with two more cards that can be given to men/boys.  I will be linking this post to Mema's Crafts for her monthly challenge, this month's challenge is to create a masculine themed project.  I deleted my Father's Day pictures in error so I couldn't do a LO for this year. The top card is one where I really like the pattern paper so I didn't add a sentiment, the paper came from the K&Co designer paper pad so I just added some Candy Shoppe jellies to the layers.  The birthday card was made with pattern paper from an Echo Park 6x6 paper pad, some TH gears, ribbon and more jellies.  Wishing you and yours a wonderfully blessed week.

Pretty as a Picture

Hello Saturday and welcome to the 7th day of my blog challenge in honor and memory of my beloved oldest sister.  I am super excited that I have been able to share with you and complete some projects.  Today I am sharing a LO that I shared on FB a few days ago for Tiare's Desk to Done challenge; most of my projects are usually cross posted!

The pictures used were taken earlier this month as we were headed to an orientation event for a summer program my daughter is attending.  I really like how the LO came together, the pattern paper is from a K&Co Kelly Panacci designer paper pad, the title and camera are files from the Silhouette online store and the stickers are from Me and my Big Ideas.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.   I'm planning  to attend our city's Juneteenth celebration with my daughter and a  fundraising event  with my DH for his fraternity.

Thinking of You

Hello Friday, today I'm sharing a card that I recently made and sent to someone.  The person is mourning the loss of her mother, I haven't spoken with her but wanted to let her know that I was lifting her and her family in prayer.  This simple card came together rather quickly and I like how it turned out.  Its just a card base with some flowers that have been in my stash for a while, the pearls are from Recollections.  I'm not sure about the stamp that I used  for the sentiment.  Take care and have a  wonderful weekend!

Science Projects

It has been quite warm here for the last few days which means lots of in door time!  Today's project is another LO for my daughter's school album, it uses pictures of projects she made for Science.  She used play doh to make the animal cell.  The picture with the ice cube with the pepper was one of the pictures from her Science Fair project while she was conducting the experiment;  I forgot to take a picture of the completed board.  The last picture is one of  food chains mobile.  I will surely finish all the LOs from her 7th grade year by the end of this challenge.

Happily Ever After

It's Wednesday and today I am sharing a card that I made for week #24 blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  I decided to do the project that comes in the front of the cricut cartridge books, I have quite a few cartridges that I have never used and this is one way to give them a try.  This project comes from the Summer Celebrations cartridge, this is my second cut from this cartridge.  The project uses the card feature so all I had to do was add the flower for her bouquet, some small rhinestones and a pearl in her hair.  This is one of those projects where you have mixed feelings about it, oh well it's done now!

Thank you for stopping by and the kind words, have a wonderful day.

Sibling Love

I sure hope I can keep this up, I need to try to get a few projects all done and scheduled to post so I don't feel so pressed to complete this self-imposed challenge.  Today's LO is a redo of one that I shared recently on FB for Tiare's Desk to Done weekly challenge.  The LO uses pictures of my nephews that my sister had given me to scrap some time ago; too bad this is one of those things that I didn't get to share with her.  The original LO just seemed so plain so I  added the paper dolls from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.  I just noticed that I forgot to add a number to the basketball jersey, will need to do that before I put the LO in an album.  The pocket contains a note written to my nephews, too bad I didn't know their ages when the pictures were taken.

Missing You

Today would have been my sister's 55th birthday, so in her honor I have taken on a personal challenge.  Yesterday was the official start where I am planning to post/share on my blog everyday for the next two weeks.  Fay loved to craft and was always on You Tube looking for new things to try, I miss those calls of excitement once she completed a new project.  So today I'm sharing a memorial tag that I created recently for another challenge.   I cut the sentiment with my cameo, the gem flowers are from The Paper Studio and the lace was part of a RAK.

Father's Day

I have been going through what some people consider a "rough patch" so today I'm headed home alone.  My father won't be happy because he won't get to see his "ladybug" but I felt it best that she spend the day with her father.  I haven't seen my parents in a bit so I just decided to take the drive alone.

Today I'm sharing the two simple cards that I made for my daughter to give to her dad and her grandpa; I sent my father's card in the mail earlier this week!  The grandpa card uses cuts from the Cricut Summer Celebrations cartridge and the father's day card is a cut from the craftroom.  I added a little bling to the daughter's shoes after I took the picture.

Wishing you and yours a blessed week.

Summer

In just a few days the official start of Summer will be.  Well we have already been experiencing warm temperatures, thunderstorms and the flurry of the end of the school year activities.  One of the recent blog challenges over at Scraps of Color was to create a Summer themed project or just share a blog post about it.  Today I am doing a little of both!

In keeping with the theme of using my stash, I decided to go through and sort some of my paper scraps and embellishments that have in my stash for a while.  So today's card is one made totally from my paper scraps and was embellished with items that have been in my stash for a while.

As for me and my family we have not completely finalized our Summer schedule but it will include some weekend getaways and lots of day trips.  My daughter will be taking a break from some of her activities so that she can concentrate on getting ready for the next school year. As for me I hope to get more organized and continue to purge!  Lastly, I am sharing a picture that I took last week while we were at Virginia Beach,  it was taken from the hotel's balcony.

Take care and stay tuned as I embark upon a new personal challenge!  Wishing you and yours a wonderfully blessed day.

Clean and Simple Sketch

It's Tuesday and we're in for a warm and humid day; I don't plan to go outside until I leave work this evening!  Today's card is one that came together so easy, I love the CAS card sketches; I usually just use paper left over from previous projects.  The inspiration for today's card is from Clean & Simple Stamping sketch #294.  The pattern paper comes from a stack that I picked up on clearance at Tuesday Morning recently, used my Cuttlebug to dry emboss the strip and the butterfly is one that I received in a RAK a while back.  I'm sure I'll be using this sketch again soon!

Language Land

I am so ready for school to end because sometimes I feel like I'm going through the 7th grade too!  Today I'm sharing one of the last projects that my daughter had to turn in for this school year, it is a game that she modeled after the child hood game Candy Land and she named hers Language Land as it is is about figurative language.  As usual she had a good idea in her head but when it came time to pull it all together and the fact that she waited  this is the final project even though I said I  wasn't going to help!

The base is foam core board, the colored path squares she punched with an EK Success punch.  The two bridges, tree, bear, water, birds, frog and arrows were cut from several cricut cartridges.  The caged tiger at the finish line is a file from the Silhouette online store; the  tiger is her school's mascot.  The base of the question cards is a cricut die cut.

The game pieces were made with a small die cut and a binder clip.  The cuts included a bear, butterfly, monkey and a snake all cut with the cricut with the exception of the bear, I used the SLICE.  Wishing you and yours a blessed day.

Kid Zone

Hello June, can't believe  I didn't post at all last week; its not that I haven't been trying to get some play time in but sometimes the projects just don't come together.  Over at Scraps of Color during last Friday's chat  Princess challenged us to create projects centered around children.  So I stepped out my comfort zone and made these two cards using Bratz doll images.  The images were colored using color pencils, misc. embellishments including a studio G mini stamp for the ribbon and paper from the Provocraft Celebrations pad.  We were suppose to be creating cards for Sunshine Mail, I need to confirm whether mine meets the requirements, if not they'll just go into my personal stash of cards!  Wishing you a wonderful week,  I'll be back to share as time permits.
