Tiles

Today I am sharing a picture of one of two tiles that I made as gifts, I didn't get to take a picture of the other one.  I actually thought the receipient would keep it at work but she took it home.  The tile pictured was made for my manager as she seems to enjoy handmade items.  This was my first time making tiles using vinyl, I backed them with adhesive felt and included the stand.  This is a project that I will more than likely be doing again, now I need more vinyl.  The elephant and greek letters are both from the silhouette store.

I am sharing this project for the Freestyle challenge #180  over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you'll visit again soon.  Best wishes to you and yours for a prosperous new year!

Another Gift

Recently I was a participant in a Traveling Gift exchange over at Scraps of Color where I altered a letter for my partner.  When my daughter saw it she said I should do one for her so I did!  I just went through my stash pulling out embellishments all of which I didn't use.  The crown because she is our princess, the ladybug because that's one of her nicknames, the purse because she is a shoe and purse addict, the megaphone because she is cheerleader and the blue flowers and bling because blue is her favorite color!  Always happy to use my stash, hope that I will do a better job in 2015 of only buying only what I need.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Merry Christmas

Wishing you and yours a wonderfully blessed holiday season.  I got this bright idea at the ninth hour to make some gifts for family., which is really a labor of love so today I am sharing two of those gifts.  The first gift pictured above is the album cover for one of the scrapbooks that I did for my brother -in-law.  Earlier this year I gave him the first album and since I had more pictures left  I decided to do this one.

The second gift is a floating frame using a split monogram letter from the Silhouette store, I think it came out okay for a first.  I will have to try it again and fine tune it, I gave my cameo a workout making vinyl projects.

Creative Blogger Award

Season's greetings and a special thank you to my crafty friend Karen over at Still Young and Croppin for nominating me for this award.  Head on over to her blog for some great inspiration as she is such a talented scrapbooker/cardmaker!

Being a recipient of this award, I am suppose to answer some questions that will allow you to get to know me a little better in relation to my crafting style.

What am I currently working on?
I am currently working on holiday cards, and projects; I am so far behind with my LOs which my first love.  I hope to get some LOs completed if I can I find some me time over the next few weeks.  I am off work some but there is always something to do or somewhere to go, visiting family and friends and attending social events.

What is my signature style?
I am a firm believer in less is better so my style is clean and simple.  Even though I have a lots of stuff I tend to use the same things all the time.  I don't scrap trends, I just do my own thing, whatever pleases me!

How do I become inspired and stay inspired?
My inspiration comes mainly from my desire to document,I  am the drummer that beats to my own beat.  I like to browse the Internet, magazines, blogs and hang out on The Scraps of Color board.  There is so much to see that it can be overwhelming,  my friends also keep my inbox full of things to see and do.

How does my creative process work?
Now that's hard and I am not sure I have enough space or time!  I usually just go for it when I am working on a project, maybe that's why I stick to clean and simple and it may take me forever to do the simplest of things.  Since I am very unorganized it is easier for me to keep it simple.  When working on LOs once I choose the pictures everything else is somewhat of a routine depending on whether the LO will be shared for a challenge and then I will have other specific requirements.

Enough about me and on to the next blog of awesomeness so I nominate my sista friend Felisa.  I met Felisa a few years ago on a Provocraft's cricut cruise and we have bee nurturing our friendship almost daily since meeting.  Head on over to her blog at TheScrapinDiva so you can get to know her and be inspired.

Thank you for your visit and do come back again!

Congrats

Today I am sharing a card that I made for one of my co-workers that recently announced her resignation, she has a new job.  The inspiration for this card came from one of the free project flyers that I picked up at JoAnns.  The paper used on the card came from a Crate Paper paper pad that I picked up from Tuesday Morning on clearance last Spring.  The bird and cage are cuts from the cricut  Serenade cartridge,  the ribbon and bling from Recollections and a Sandylion Essentials flower.  I am so looking for some downtime so I can work on some LOs

Card Sharing

It has been sometime since I shared on my blog but I pushed myself today to get some cards ready to go postal this week.   Today I am sharing a card that I am sending to a child that has cancer and has requested handmade cards.  Several requests for cards have been shared on facebook and posted as challenges on other blogs.

I used an embossing folder for the sentiment, the echo park deer came from the SIL store and was cut with the cameo, a layer of snow, added some stickles and stars and the card was complete. I am sharing this for  week #48 anything goes blog challenge over at Scraps of Color,  I have just one more project to post and I will have participated in this challenge for the entire year!

Something to Celebrate

Hello Sunday and welcome to another week to celebrate gratitude!  Today's post is an annivsary card  that will be going postal within the next few days to one of my friends.  I didn't have a plan or a sketch when I started this car I just pulled out some paper scraps from my stash.  I also wanted to use the cartridge Something to Celebrate that I won from Cricutbarista over at A Cart a Week she is a talented crafter and her blog is full of inspiration.  The love birds were cut from the cartridge at 2 1/2 and popped on a mat that was embossed with a Paper Studio heart folder.  I  like how the competed card looks,  after all it is the thought that counts.

I am sharing this card for this week's #176 Freestyle challenge over at  Hiding in my Craft Room.

Have a great week, if you see someone without a smile remember to give them one of yours!

Black Friday

Hello Friday and this is a first no shopping day for me, I really don't need anything so I am at home trying to finish up a few projects which brings me to what I am sharing today.  It's a TH tag that I created to include in care package to a very special person.  I just stenciled the tag using some distress ink and a stencil from The Crafters Workshop, added some glimmer mist and stamped one of my favorite sentiments..  Other stash items used included  the MS bird cage sticker, the wood veneer typewriter and ribbon.

Today's tag is being shared over at Scraps of Color for week #46 blog challenge Power of Words.

Wishing you a wonderful day and weekend.

Hello Monday

Today I wanted to do a quick post sharing some Thanksgiving cards that I put together yesterday after seeing this post over at Scraps of Color Espire.  They may be simple but they came together rather quickly since I needed to finish up my cards so they could go postal today.  Yesterday was cloudy so this was the best picture I could get using my cell phone since I was in a hurry.  All items used have been in my stask for a while with the exception of the pattern paper used on  the card to the right which I purchased from HL earlier this month!

Take care and have a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving.

Wednesday Wanderings

Hello and Happy Wednesday,  welcome to another edition of my Wednesday Wanderings.

I'm back today to  share a card that I made using a video tutorial shared by Joy from Obsessed With Scrapbooking.  The link goes to her blog not the specific card because she has several on her blog using the CTMH Artiste cartridge.  The picture doesn't really do the card justice as I think it looks better in person and I will certainly be making more of these cards.  My scrappy friend Felisa from The Scrapin Diva is the enabler that introduced me to the Sizziz Card Frame Dies, after I went out and bought one she then told me I could make them with my cricut and that's when she pointed me to Joy's video.  So there you have the story behind the making of the swing card using the cricut, I will  share the card I made using the sizzix dies once I finish it.

Take care and try to stay warm because it is so cold outside!

Happy Thanksgiving

So much to be thankful for, I would never be able count all my blessings, just trying to complain less and live a life of gratitude and thankfulness.  We have less than two weeks before Thanksgiving so I decided to put together some really simple cards.  I sure hope I am able to finish them and get them in the mail.  This simple card was made using some paper scraps and a cut from the Thanksgiving cricut cartridge, I used some stickles on the stem.

Today's card is being submitted for the week #45 Give Thanks blog challenge over at Scraps of Color and  for the  HIMCR #174 Think Fall challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Girls Weekend

Earlier this year we  spent a fun girl's weekend in Williamsburg.  Today I am sharing a LO using one of the pictures that we took.  On Sunday we did some outlet shopping and took this picture with Santa while we were in the Christmas Shop.  The sketch inspiration came from the Sketch it Out challenge over at Scraps of Color.  All items used came from my stash with the exception of the sticker used for the title which came from a pack that I picked up earlier this week to use for another project and I didn't use either of my die cut machines!

Thanks for your visit, have a great weekend.

Gators Rock

My daughter is participating in her very first cheerleading event tomorrow so I made this sign as a showing of encouragement for her and the team.  She cheers for a community center and this is their first time having a cheer team.  They will be  participating in a cheerleading jamboree, they have worked very hard, even the parents haven't seen their routine yet!  We're all anxiously awaiting!

I used the following cricut cartridges to make the sign:  Zoo Day, Create-a-Friend, Mickey Font,  and Everyday Paper Dolls.  I just need to add a stick and it will be done!

Veterans Day

Thank you to all veterans currently serving, have previously served and those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

I put this simple card together using the Autumn Celebrations and Create a Friend  cricut cartridges.  The red layer is embossed with the cuttlebug star folder,  the pattern paper is from American Crafts and the stars were made with a punch.  I will give the card to one of my co-workers   I am sharing this card for week #44 blog challenge over at  Scraps of Color.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Hello Sunday

I can't believe it, I've shared on my blog three days in a row!  Today's post uses a stamp set that I have had in my stash for about five months, I recently purchased two more stamps from Pink Bow Ties so I decided I should use the first set before I use either of the two new sets. The card base is 5.5 x 5.5 and the pattern paper is from the Hero Art Ki Color Crush 6x6 paper pad, the ribbon, charm and gems from my stash.  I like how this card came out so I am looking forward to using my other new stamps.

Sharing this card for week#43 Anything Goes blog challenge over Scraps of Color.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Shaker Card

It's November, a new month and today I am sharing something new and different!  I am sharing my very first shaker card, this was indeed labor intensive as I watched what seemed like a thousand videos and tossed lots of paper, foam and adhesive.  It's not perfect but it is done and it will go postal sometime soon!  I used paper from a Hampton Art Autumn Flowers paper pad that I picked up from Tuesday Morning.  I also used a the Spellbinders Label One dies, twine, a gem and a Stampin' Up stamp! The micro beads are from Recollections and hard to see so I'll use something else the next time I make one!

I am sharing this card for the monthly challenges over at Mema's Crafts for the November Anything Goes challenge.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Halloween

Are you ready for the little ghosts and goblins this evening, I'm not since I have yet to pick up any treats.  We usually don't get that many kids so I will pick something up on my way in from work.  I am not sure I am going to be home this evening because I am suppose to meet a friend for dinner.

I put today's card together last night as I was working on some other cards.  Just another signature simple card using my stash.  I used paper from the DCWV Year Round paper stack, a little bit of scrapper' floss, a spider brad and pumpkin stickers.  Now to decide who will be the recipient of this one card!

Be safe and have a great weekend.

Say Cheese

Today's simple 8x8 LO is one that has been on my to do list since the Spring.  The LO uses a picture  taken during a National Scrapbooing Day weekend crop.  Everything used to complete the LO came from my stash, I even pulled out my sizzix sidekick to cut the title.  The crop was held in Hagertstown, Maryland and was hosted by Cassie from Cassie's Craft Cafe.

It's Friday and we have lots going on again this weekend so I probably won't have a chance to scrap. We are having some fall temperatures so any outdoor activity will require jackets.  So what's on your calendar for the weekend, I hope it is something fun!

Wednesday Wanderings

Welcome to another edition of my Wednesday Wanderings!  I can't believe that it has been what seems like forever since I shared on my blog.  It's not that I haven't been scrappin' but I just haven't had the opportunity to share.   So today's post is more of a what have I been up to!

It has been almost two weeks since I went to my scrappin' retreat in Maryland which afforded me the opportunity to have a little "me time" where I got to hang out with some scrappin' friends and meet some others for the first time.  I am thankful for 'no frill' crops where you can do whatever you want, I didn't get alot done but I was able to almost finish one big project  I have yet to completely unpack, so that is going to be a work in progress as I continue to organize and purge.  I haven't even unpacked my laptop which is really strange for me.

I did make one card which went postal on Monday, I still have some other cards that I need to mail too.  I was back in Maryland last weekend for a football game so that meant I didn't have any time to scrap, I have been working on a few things this week and if all goes well I will have something to share by Friday.

Wishing you and yours a Wonderful Wednesday.

World Card Making Day

Yesterday was World Cardmaking Day and I put this simple card together last night so that I could at least say that I participated.  The inspiration for this card came after I seen a card posted on Scraps of Color.  I used my cameo to cut the sentiment and this week's free file from the Silhouette Online store .  I cut the leaves with my cricut using the Artiste cartridge and paper from the Year Round stack from DCWV.  I still have lots to do but for some reason I can't seem to stop creating!

Thinking of You

Today I am sharing one of the cards that I made last weekend, when I was trying to get some cards made using scraps.  I am so behind  so I'm making these generic cards and trying to get them in the mail as soon as I finish.  All items used have been in my stash for sometime and included some soft spoken stickers,  a button and twine.  I am sharing this card for week #40 blog post over at Scraps of Color, where the challenge was to  pick a card any card!

Today marks the start of my marathon packing task for my upcoming retreat.  I am not sure that I'll get to finish everything that I wanted to do before I leave but I do know that I've got to get this packing done so I can get something done at the retreat.  Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Did you have or schedule your mammogram yet?  If not I hope you will take the time to schedule yours today.

Today marks the start of breast cancer awareness so today's project is one that I created for one of the  challenges over at Scraps of Color.  The challenge was to  create a tag any size with a girl/ lady with a single word that encourages positive thoughts for Breast Cancer.  I used a dress form instead of a girl/lady image. Everything used  came from  my stash,  I have been trying to finish up some projects so that I can start packing for my retreat.  It hasn't been easy and of course everything is out of order, I am so looking forward to this little getaway!

First Day of School

Today's project is a LO of our daughter's first day of school this year.  We were running late so we really didn't have alot of  time so I had to hurry to snap a few pictures.  When my daughterfirst seen the completed LO she said  "wow that's nice, I like that" so it has been teen approved!

The double sided pattern paper is Bazzill and some that I picked up a few weeks ago at Tuesday Morning.  I'm not sure whether you can see it in the picture or not but I did emboss one layer with a cuttlebug folder, not sure of the name right now but it was a gift to me.  Everything else used has been in my stash for quite sometime, I used my cameo to cut the polaroid frame.  I didn't want to overembellish the LO because of the busy paper and I only used one picture.

Wishing you and yours a great weekend, what fun Fall things do you have planned?

Friday Night Chat

Today I am sharing the cards that I  made for the challenges for the Scraps of Color Friday Night Chat.  We had a really good time hanging out Friday celebrating Vivian's retirement from the Air Force, MJ was our hostess and in addition to the challenges, we had the opportunity to win some goodies.  We always have so much fun when we get together.

Challenge #1 - We created HELLO cards that included an inside note to a hero.  I was trying to use up the last few sheets of paper from the MME Moments 6x6 paper pad, I still have enough for one more card!  The hello stamp is one from Hero Arts.  Challenge #2 - We created cards using a provided sketch along with the colors pink and brown, I used paper from a Crate Paper pad, along with my cuttlebug, slice and another hero arts stamp.  Challenge #3 - We created friendship cards that had to include the use of a border punch, flowers and bling.  I used paper from The Paper Studio So-So Sweet paper pad, stickers from Me & My Big Ideas and Recollections bling.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Hello Friday

Today's simple card was created using inspiration from sketch #307 from Clean & Simple Stamping.  This card too took many twists and turns before I decided it was done!  The flower is from Recollections, the glittered adhesive tape is from American Crafts, I used my SLICE to cut the little tag and the sentiment is from a CTMH a stamp set.  You can't get any simpler than that! Wishing you and yours a great weekend

Happy Fall

Back today to share another simple card that I finally had to throw in the towel and call it finished and done!  Originally I was trying to stamp a background but for some reason I could never get it done to my satisfaction so I just decided to use pattern paper instead.  All papers used are from the DCWV Year Round Paper Stack, I used a edge punch and added a leaf brad from my stash.  The sentiment was cut using the Simply Charmed cricut cartridge.  I'm sure I'll be sharing more Fall themed cards within the next few weeks before I pack up for my weekend retreat.

The inspiration and sketch for the card came from Clean & Simple Stamping, I am also sharing this card for the Think Fall challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room and the Fall Color challenge over at Mema's Crafts.

Stay Cool

Hello and happy Monday, today I am sharing a card that I made for one of our nephews birthday.   He turns 13 on Saturday and he thinks he is so cool so he will get a chuckle out of this card.  I cut the fan using the Suburbia cricut cartridge, cut the letters with  my sizzix sidekick and I used paper from an old DCWV paper stack called Indian Summer Fall Stack.  I am sharing this card for  Week 36: This ~or~ That. "Beat the Heat" or "Keeping Cool." blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  Wishing you and yours a great week.

Back2School Shopping

I am back today to share a LO that I started several weeks ago and finally finished this morning, it uses pictures taken of my daughter during one of her back to school shopping trips.  We actually shop all summer but we took these pictures one weekend while we were on a little weekend getaway.  The LO actually looks better in person, I cut the title using the Designer Calendar and Wall Decor and More cartridges.  I used a TH kraft glassine pocket to hold some of the tags and the butterfly paperclip is from K&Co, the file folder is from Jo-Ann's and has been in my stash forever along with the other embellishments.

I am sharing this LO for the following challenges:
Scraps of Color - Back to School
Hiding in my Craft Room - #163 Freestyle
Scrap Our Stash- Stash Challenge #18 Back to School

Thank you for your visit, have a wonderfully blessed weekend.

Gift Bag

Today's project is an altered gift bag, my daughter will be attending another party on Saturday so I decided to alter the gift bag.  She chose some AC pattern paper ( that's the extent of her participation) and  I used the cricut Teen Scene cartridge for the first time to cut the doll.  All other embellishments used were purchased for this project or in my stash.  I now realize I should have added a mat since the paper is so busy, oh well there's always next time! I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day.

Sunday, August 31, 2014

Hello Sunday

The Labor Day weekend is winding down and I'm feeling like I need just one more day!  Today I am sharing a card that I'll be giving to one of my coworkers.  I should have put it in the mail but I couldn't find her mailing address so I'll just put it on her desk and she'll get it when she returns.  I used the "For You" julie Nutting cling stamp for the doll and the sentiment, I have mixed feelings about the doll stamps and I'm not sure when I may take on the task of using one again.  I really wanted to give them a try since there just seems to be a lot of rave and fanfare for the doll stamps right now, I have several in my stash but I probably won't be adding anymore!  The doll was colored with color pencils, the pattern paper is WeR Memory Keepers and just a few other items from my stash and the card was done.  I am also sharing the card for the Anything Goes weekly blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend.

One Year

Today marks the first anniversary of the passing of my dear sister Fay.   I have been struggling with how I feel  and what to do.  Of course I still think of her everyday, wish I could talk to her, share with her, cry with her!  There are so many things that I wish were different, too much unsaid and undone.  I think I'll just do as less as possible today, maybe I'll complete a project in her honor!

Gone Fishing

Hello and Happy Sunday, today's project is one that I created for a photo prop!  Yesterday my daughter, one of her BFFs and I along with seven other family members went on an afternoon fishing trip.  My FIL coordinated the fishing trip to celebrate one of nephew's 12th birthday.  Let's just say it will be the first and last fishing trip for me and my daughter.  Overall the day went pretty well but the fish weren't biting the water was rough and my daughter couldn't stomach it.  I made the sign using cuts from the Cricut April Showers and Create a Friend cartridge.

Traveling Gift

It's Thursday which means the start of the weekend is right around the corner.  Our family has a fishing trip planned for Saturday for one of our nephews, this will be a first for me!  I was a participant in a Traveling Gift event over at Scraps of Color, today I am sharing the gift that I received.  I was blessed with this wonderful painting from Sharon Sutton, I was screaming when I opened it, I love it; the picture doesn't really do it justice.  She also included a ATC, the picture even inlcudes hidden bible verses, if you'd like to see more of Sharon's projects head on over to her blog at ,http://seraph1959.blogspot.com/.  Thank you for your visit, I hope you'll come back soon;  have a wonderful Thursday.

Special Moments

Today's LO is one that has taken many twists and turns and I am happy to report the use of more of my stash.  I used paper from a Crate Paper paper pad that I picked up fromTuesday Morning earlier this summer.  I  used Glimmer Mist on the base for some added color, cut the model with the Forever Young cricut cartridge; the embellishments and Thickers have been in my stash forever with the exception of the camera sticker which is Recollections.

I am happy to report that I am able to share this LO for three different challenges.  The sketch inspiration is from Tiare's Desk to Done.   In honor of  both  National Sisters Day and  National Girlfriends Day the blog challenge for week #33 and the monthly creative challenge  over  at Scraps of Color  is to create a project celebrating  these relationships.  I used pictures taken of my recent trip to Raleigh, North Carolina where I met SOC family members for the first time!

Birthday Wishes

August is a busy birthday month for our family so today's card will be going to someone soon!  Today's card was inspired by sketch #302 from Clean & Simple Stamping,  I used embellishments and paper from my scrap pile which doesn't seem to be decreasing.  The stamp is one that I picked up from HL on clearance, the pattern paper came from Provocraft's rob and bob Celebrations  pad. Wishing you and yours a Wonderful week!

A New Address

Hello it's hump day and I'm feeling a little under the weather, hope I can make it through today.  We have tickets to a baseball game tonight so even if I make it through  the work day I can't go home and rest.  Today's post is one that I've been trying to finish for almost a month, it was an emotional task and it seemed I just couldn't get everything together;  the only thing left to do is the journaling as I've got to narrow it down to fit the designated space.  Last month I shared that my DH was giving me an anniversary gift, he replaced my car.  This LO uses pictures of my old car that I took a few weeks after he sold it, I wanted to buy it back, his reply I'm not putting it back on my insurance!  I'm not sure why I love that car so much but it sure was painful letting it go.  I  used paper from a K&Co stack, I cut the title from the cricut Wild Card cartridge, the embellishments include items from Queen & Co., Tim Holtz and American Crafts. Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday.

Summer Fun

Hello and happy Friday, it's raining here and I really want to go back to bed!  I have way too much to do so I must press on!  Today's project is a LO using pictures taken on July 4th when my daughter and I attended a community outreach event at one of the local churches.  I used pattern paper from DCWV year round paper stack, washi tape, foam star stickers, and jellies.  The word summer was cut using the cricut gypsy wanderings  cartridge and I used K&Co epoxy stickers for the word fun.  The sketch inspiration for this LO is  from Tiare's Desk  to Done challenge #41 and will be shared for this week's Anything Goes blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend.

Hello Tuesday

It's a nice day here today, not too hot so I may go for a walk during lunch.  I am back today with another quick card for the Christmas in July challenge over at Scraps of Color.   I made the card using mostly paper scraps from my stash. I cut the tree from the Art Philosphy cricut cartridge, added a few rhinstone embellishments, the sentiment is a sticker from  American Crafts. I cut the little banner free hand, so it has some imperfections.   I have just one more card and then we'll be done with this challenge!

Holiday Greetings

It's cloudy and raining here so I decided to try to get another project completed before I head to church this morning.  The weekly blog challenge over at Scraps of Color was to create a Christmas in July project or one that uses the colors shared in the inspiration picture.  I decided to create another holiday card and use the colors in the picture too!  In addition earlier this week one of the designers from Scraps of Color Espire shared a post on creating using minimal time and effort and of course this was a post about something that I do all the time.  My card uses a cuttlebug folder, I cut the wreath and bow with my cameo and I just added some classy red rhinestones from Queen and Co. and the card was done!  I have just two more cards to complete the five card challenge.  Wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Merry Christmas

I'm back today with my second Christmas in July card, I have three more to complete the challenge.  Today's card uses sketch #300 from Clean & Simple Stamping for inspiration.  I used paper from the Christmas Wish 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye, a few pearl gems, some TH ribbon and the sentiment was cut using the cricut Simply Sweet cartridge.  I am also sharing this card for this week's challenge over at Hiding in My Craft Room.  This week's challenge is to create a Christmas themed project, they are also having a blog hop so if you are in need of some inspiration and a chance to win some craft goodies head on over there!  Have a great day.

Going in Circles

Hello and happy Monday, nothing exciting and grand to report here!  It's cloudy and humid here but I'm thankful that its not scorching hot.  Today's card is one one that I completed for the weekly blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  The challenge for week #29 was to use circles on your project, I used pattern paper with circles from American Crafts that has been in my stack for sometime along with a few other items and the card was done!  The sketch inspiration for this card is sketch #234 from Operation Write Home.  Wishing you and yours a wonderful day!

Christmas in July

Today is my Friday as I am off work tomorrow, well I will be working but not at my regular day job!  I've struggled this week to create and share it seems the adrenaline that helped me get through last month's challenge has subsided.  Oh well such is life and we all do the best we can with what time and resoures we have.  I've been enjoying the moderate temps for the last few days after we had thunderstorms the early part of the week, this post is sounding like one of my Wednesday Wanderings.

Today's card is one that I'm sharing for three different challenges; two different challenges over at Scraps of Color.  The blog challenge for week #28 was to create a project using the colors black and white with a splash or hint of one other color and of course I used red.  This card is the first of five that I'll be sharing for the July creative challenge - Christmas in July.  I'm also sharing it for the Super Scraps Saturday challenge #157 over at Hiding in My Craft Room.  The card was created using scraps of paper from my scrap stash, the pattern paper is from a HL paper stack, the ornament was cut using the Artiste CTMH cricut cartridge, the sentiment is an AC sticker along with some bling.

House Blessing

Saturday we went to a house blessing and this is the card that I made for the couple, not sure why I didn't share it over the weekend.  There's nothing fancy about it but I like how it came out, I spent most of my time trying to decide what to do with the inside!  I have lots of embossing folders but I think I use this one more often,  I have yet to try the embossing diffusers that I had to have!  The chandelier sticker was part of a Prima 'Saying it in Studs' embellishment pack that I found at Jo-Ann's on clearance.  Have a great week, try to stay cool.

Thinking of You

It's Thursday and we have been having some really high temps and yesterday some areas heavy rains.  I've struggled trying to post this week as I'm not sure why I haven't been able to focus, just too much going on!  Today's card sketch inspiration comes from Clean & Simple Stamping.  Even though it took me some time to get the card together I just used a small scrap of paper from a MME Moments 6x6 paper pad, a few gems from Recollections, and a Hero Arts stamp.  Wishing you and yours a great day!

Hello Summer

Its Thursday and I'm so looking forward to the holiday weekend, not only because I'll be off work but because Saturday is my wedding anniversary and my DH is giving me my present today (stay tuned) for the LO reveal!  Over at Scraps of Color Rebecca Haynes coordinated a Summer card swap/exchange within the DMV group.  Today I'm sharing one of the cards that I made to send to another member, I used the DCWV Everyday paper stack, a cut from the Life's a Beach cricut cartridge, some decorative edge scissiors and a Hero Arts stamp.  I hope she likes it!    I am also sharing this card for the weekly blog challenge over at SOC, this week's challenge is Anything Goes. Wishing you and yours a wonderful holliday.

The End

It's Monday morning and the weather is wonderful and I'm excited to say I did it, my personal blog challenge in honor of my sister is now done.  Today's post marks the end and I almost didn't make it because my DH was cracking the whip yesterday and made me clean out my car!  So I had to get up this morning and put together this card so I'd have a post today.  I just used some paper scraps, an embossing folder and a few Martha Stewart embellishments.  We have lots of birthdays coming up the next few months so you can never have too many birthday cards.  Thank you for stopping by, wishing you and yours a great week and a wonderful holiday!

Hello Sunday

I have mixed feelings about my personal challenge coming to an end,  I know that my sister is smiling down and cheering that I have kept at it; if only she were here to see.  I'm okay just missing her so, she was my biggest cheerleader!  Today's LO is one that should have been completed some time ago.  For this two page LO I used paper from the DCVW Textures and Finishes stack, I like the look and feel of it so I didn't want to add too much outside of the pictures.  When I scrap I always want the pictures to tell the story so I keep the embellishments to a minimal.  I used my SLICE to cut the lettering and my cameo for the emblem.  Take care and I'll be back tomorrow to share the final project for this challenge!

Red, White & Blue

Hello Saturday, today I'm sharing a simple card that I put together for this week's blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  I am happy to say that I have completed all of the blog post challenges and I am now current!  Now to get through the next few days of my own personal challenge.  Today's card was made using some pattern paper  that was in my scrap drawer along with a file from the Silhouette online store, a little distress ink and a Hero Arts stamp.  Wishing you and yours a great day!

Many Thanks

Hello Friday, thankful for the end of another work week and for a job.  I'm even happier that the weekend is here and I hope to finish and schedule my remaining challenge post so I can take a breather.  I really need to take a crafting break so I can tidy up the house and since I've been driving DH's car he says its a mess!

Today's card is one that I literally started and finished this morning before I came in to work which means I was late.  I used a sketch that was waiting in my inbox from Clean & Simple Stamping, it is sketch #297 that they posted earlier today.  So its a first for me to use a sketch immediately, the flowers are Recollections, the gems are Paper Studio and the stamp from Stampin Up.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
