Love Ya

Happy Friday, I'm back to share another card using paper from my scrap stash.  The stack still isn't getting any smaller,  I may have to take drastic measures soon!  The inspiration sketch for this card came from Freshly Made Sketches,  I didn't share it on their blog since I  am just getting around to putting mine together I missed the posting deadline.  The pattern paper has been in my stash forever and for some reason I can't seem to use it all I think the rest of it may find it's way out the door real soon!  The little conversation heart is a brad and the heart silhouette was cut using the George cricut cartridge.

I am sharing this card for the following challenges:   Hiding in my Craft Room #184 Any Holiday and Scraps of Color Valentine's Day.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Fishing Trip

Today I am sharing LO#4 for this year, I have been working on cards more since I am trying not to purchase any cards,  this week is another week of more cards going out!  This LO uses pictures from a birthday fishing trip that some family and friends took last August.  DH wasn't able to go so my daughter invited one of her friends to go.  I made the sign (photo prop) the night before and that picture was taken at a highway rest stop enroute to our destination.  This was my daughter's first fishing trip and because it had rained previously the water was really rough which eventually caused her to have motion sickness.

I used paper from the DCWV Tradewinds paper stack, cuts from several cricut cartridges, a little bit of bling,  Amy Tangerine Thickers for the title and the corner flourishes were actually the practice cuts from a previous project.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Happy Birthday Alexia

Hello Friday and Happy Birthday to my baby sister Alexia.  Today I am sharing the card that I made for her but I don't think it will reach her so she'll have to look at my blog today.  I like how this card came together, I used paper from the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook 6x6 paper pad, the image is one of the Julie Nutting Prima doll stamps colored with water color pencils, corners were cut with the Silhouette Cameo and embellished with Martha Stewart pearls.

I am happy to share this card for three different challenges this week:

Mema's Crafts - January ATG challenge
Hiding in My Craft Room - #183 Color It
Use Your Stuff - #169 Geometic Shapes

Thank you for your visit, take care and enjoy your weekend!

Wednesday Wanderings

Welcome to my first 2015 Wednesday Wanderings post!  So what have you been up to lately, anything fun and exciting?   We had a dose of beautiful weather yesterday, cooler temps today with a forecast for maybe some by the weeekend..  Lots and lots going on, some good and some not so good.  As for me  I'm trying to stay positive, try not  to sweat the small stuff and live a life of gratefulness.  I am bracing my self as my baby is about to turn 14 and will be going to high school next year, I'm sure there will be more sharing about those milestones.

Today I'm sharing another signature simple card that I put together while purging more paper scraps and trying to add more cards to my stash over the weekend.  The stamped sentiment was colored with some markers given to me sometime ago by one of my scrappin' sisters!  I think it came out cute but the picture seems a little blurred.

Take care and have a wonderful day.

Buttons

Happy MLK Day, hope you have something planned to honor the legacy!

Today I am sharing a card using more of my paper scraps including some buttons from my stash.  The buttons are from an AC button pack called with love that I picked up from Target on clearance last year or the year before.  I am sharing this card for a button challenge over at Use Your Stuff, I have been meaning to participate in their challenges for some time; I am also racing against the clock to beat the posting deadline!

Take care and enjoy your day.

Lil' Driver

Third LO, can I keep up the momento and complete at least one LO per week when I'd much rather do more!  I am so far behind, I need to take some time to make cards becase this month  is really requires lots of cards.  Today's LO uses some pictures that I found of  DD when she was much younger and they were taken before I started scrapbooking so I haven't figured out the journaling yet, I suspect she was about 8 or 9 months old.  When her dad saw the pictures he said you might as well save these to use to make an announcment about her driving because it won't be that long now.

The sketch inspiration from the LO is from Tiare's Desk to Done challenge #49, the papers came from  a Cosmo Cricket  Joy Ride pack that I've had for some years. I used the echo park SUV cut from the silhouette store for the vehicle, I actually painted the tires, thickers for the title,  wood veneer embellishments and stickers for the word zoom!

Thank you for your visit, enjoy the rest of your weekend and holiday.

Happy Valentine's Day

It's Thursday and we've had a little bit of a wintry mix here; the kids were out of school yesterday and went in two hours late today. DH was able to work from home but I had to wrap up, clean the car and come in both days.

Today's card is another project from my mountain of scraps, the more I use them the more I want to just toss them!  I think if I had organized them from the start I wouldn't feel this way.  I cut the heart from the artiste cricut cartridge and ran it through the cuttlebug and the little gems are from EK Success and I think I picked the stamp up from HL on clearance last year.

The sketch inspiration for this card is from sketch #380 over at Mojo Monday.  I am also sharing this card for the first 2015 Anything Goes blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  Let's see if I can keep up this year since there's a new format.

Take care.

Artful Journey Through Scripture

Today I am sharing my first journal page completed for a FB group that I joined.  It is hosted by Maymay Helms and the group is called hide his word in my heart.  Every week we receive a scripture prompt and we just complete a page in our journal.  I am not an artsy type person nor do I do much mixed media but I felt this would be a good way to enhance my knowledge of scripture and to use more of my stash.

I'm not sure you can see it but the scripture was from Psalm 119, verse 105.  The journal that I finally choose to use was one that we altered a few years back while on a Provocraft cruise.  I just chalked the page, added some punched stars, the feet are a cut from the cricut My Community cartridge (first time using it) and the lamp is a cut from the Silhouette store.

Take care and have a great day.

More Scraps

Yesterday was my birthday and I spent some time with my scraps, tossed some, organized some and played with others.  Today I am sharing two of the cards that I made,  the baby card will going postal this week to a couple that had a baby girl last week.   Both cards have one cricut cut along with  a few other embellishments from my stash.

I am sharing these cards for this week's challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room for challenge #182 - Super Scraps.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Service Project

Hello Friday and welcome to the weekend!  Today I am sharing my second LO for 2015, I am participating in a weekly FB challenge where I am hoping to complete at least 52 LOs this year.  This LO uses pictures taken from a service project that my husband's fraternity did last summer.  The sketch inspiration came from Tiare's From Desk to Done challenge.

The base of the LO is the only full sheet of paper, the remainng papers were scraps from my stash. The other embellishments have been in my stash for a while including the foam letters for the title from the $1 aisle at Target.  I cut the clipboard that has the journaling with the Fabulous Finds cricut cartridge, that is one of my favorite cricut cuts.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Paper Scraps

As I continue to organize and purge I am torn with what to do with all of my scraps of paper, no matter how hard I try I will never use them all!  Today's simple card is one that I  put together using paper scraps from an old 6x6 Basic Grey pad called Serendipidty.  The felt flower is also from that line, the paper pad and flower pack were given to me several years ago during a holiday secret sistah event over at Scraps of Color.  This is the first time I've made a card using only pattern paper and I am not sure whether I like it or not!  Oh well such is life it's done now and I'm moving on!

I am sharing this card for the following two challenges:
Hiding in my Craft Room - challenge #181 Pinks
CAS-ual Fridays - challenge #135 Felt and Sequins

Thank you for your visit, take care and try to stay warm.

Time4Fun

Today's project is one that I have been trying  to scrap for quite some time, I have so many LOs that I need to complete.  I didn't take any pictures at the event so I used pictures taken from a FB page and they are not the best.  When completing the LO I used paper from a Pink Paislee paper pad called Snow Village, I picked it during one of the daily deals at Michaels last month.  I added only a few embellishments because of the pattern paper, I cut the title from the Cuttin' Up cricut cartridge and I stamped the greek letters using the sorority stamp set from Pink Bow Ties.  First LO of 2015 complete using pictures from an event in 2013!

Happy New Year

All the best to you and your family in 2015.  Today I am sharing some cards that I decided to put together yesterday for New Years.  I didn't send out very many Christmas cards so I decided to send out a few New Years cards.  I'm not sure why all of a sudden I am into lamp post so I used one from the silhouette store and one from the Graphically Speaking cricut cartridge.   I used paper from a DCWV 6x6 paper pad called Twinkle Glints and I added some actate behind the glass part of the lamp even though you can't see it in the picture.   I made a few other cards that I may share before they go postal.

Take care and have a great weekend.
