Easel Card

Hello and happy Tuesday, how was your holiday weekend?  I spent some time with family and friends and  I was able to finish up some LOs that I will share later since they are included in a wedding album.  I will wait until the recipient receives the album before I share. I  also watched more videos and  completed more guy themed cards, I am sharing one of them today.  During the video hop on Friday, Mimi over at  Mim's Mixed Bag shared an easel appreciation card and I created another Father's Day card.  While watching her video I almost decided to duplicate her card but I decided to do another Father's Day card instead.  I followed her instructions and made a 6x6 card, using more scraps of paper along with my  Father's Day cricut cartridge and  Hero Arts stamp. both of these items are  really getting a work-out during this Guy Card Collaboration hop!  I am also sharing this card for challenge #252- any holiday over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Take care, thank you for your visit and try to stay dry if you are in the path of all of the rain!

Saturday Musings

Hello and happy Saturday, so what's on your agenda for this long holiday weekend?  As for me outside of attending several cook-outs I hope to get some LOs done.  Today I am back to share two more cards that I put together using the guy card video hop.  I used more scraps of paper, buttons (need to buy brown buttons), cut the bow tie with my cameo, cut the car with the Nifty Fifties cricut cartridge, a Cuttlebug folder for embossing and the traffic light is part of a Spellbinders in'spire die

Take care, be safe and enjoy your weekend!

Thinking of You

Hello Friday and the start of the holiday weekend!  Today I am back with my second guy card inspired by the video hop that I mentioned yesterday.  Today's card inspiration came from a video shared by Dana Joy, there are some differences between her card and mine so you should see hers also!  I used a kraft card base, wood grain embossing folder, ink, a punch, twine and I cut the tag with my SLICE.  It's hard to tell in the picture but I did rub the ink pad across the embossed layer I might use a different ink if I try that again.  I'm also sharing this card for this week's Get Inky challenge over at Use Your Stuff, these guy cards are certainly making me dig through my stash of unused stuff! I gave this card to my DH to send to one of his fraternity brothers that is currently in the hospital being treated for Leukemia.

Take care, have a safe holiday weekend, I'll be back tomorrow to share another guy card.

Male Cards

Hello and happy Thursday, another warm day with no rain!  I am back today to share one of the cards that I created after watching a Guy Card Collaboration video hop, if you'd like to follow along this is where it starts with  Maymay Made It and it includes a total of 26 crafters sharing male inspired cards.  The series started on Monday but I'm running a little behind since I had to search through my stash for a replacement item for one of the punches that I didn't have.  I had to improvise since I didn't own a word window punch.  I like how the card came together, the inside says "to a dad who can fix anything."  I used the Father's Day stamp set from Hero Arts and the Father's Day cricut cartridge for the tool box cut along with the envelope punch board a Sizzix TH die for the top opening.

Thanks for your visit, stop by again tomorrow for another male card inspired by the video hop!

Father's Day

Hello and happy hump day, its a beautiful day here as the rain is high up in the clouds and the sun is shining!  As a matter fact this is the second day of sunshine for us, thankful for the sunshine this week.  Today I am sharing a Father's Day card that I created using inspiration from this week's Mojo Monday sketch and I am also sharing it over at Scraps of Color for the Father's Day themed challenge.  I used more paper scraps from recent projects along with some washi tape, a cuttlebug folder for the embossing, stamp sentiment from Lawn Fawn and a die cut from the Father's Day cricut cartridge.  I am happy with the way that the card card came together as I always struggle with male cards which brings me to my next challenge; stayed tuned for more male themed cards!

Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday.

Hello Sunday

The start of another week with rain sprinkles and cloudiness!  I am back today with a drive by  post as I need to get ready for church.  Today I am sharing another card for someone that recently suffered a loss, she is one of the crafty peeps that I originally met on the old cricut message board.  I am still digging through my scraps and using my stash,  I even used one of my Verve stamps for the first time!  The sketch inspiration for this card came from challenge #448 over at Mojo Monday.

Thank you for your visits and blog love, wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Saturday Musings

Hello and happy Saturday, it is currently raining cats and dogs but they have cancelled the total wash out!  My original plan was stay indoors all day but as life would have those plans have changed.  I am up trying to get in a little 'me time' in before we have to go out.

I am back today to share a wedding card that I made for one of my crafting besties.  I struggled with the card because I really wanted to do something a little different.  I used a large background stamp from Sizzix that I heat embossed.  The stamp was  gifted to me by the recipient of the card.  I cut the sentiment using the cricut CTMH Artiste cartridge, used gold paper from a MS paper pad along with a piece of ribbon and a few gems.   I am pleased with end result and happy that I was able to use more items from my stash!  I am sharing this card for challenge #223 - Heat Embossing over at  Use Your Stuff.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Graduation Card

Hello Friday, more rain today and a total wash out for tomorrow.  It's that time of year and of course I have procrastinated in getting my graduation cards done.  We went to a party on Saturday and I just gave the person a generic inspiration card which really wasn't a big deal because what matters most to the young people is the card contents!  Today I am sharing a card that I made sketch inspiration from sketch #120 over a Can You Case It?  I used paper from my stash, a Darice embossing folder and the cap cut was made using the Locker Talk cricut cartridge.  I hand wrote the year and stamped the sentiment.  This card will be going postal today to the son of one of my crafty friends.

Thank you for your visit, wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend.

Wednesday Musings

Hello and happy Wednesday, yesterday it rained most of the day and today we are expecting more rain!  Today I am sharing a wedding card that I put together for one of the FB card angels.   When I set out to make the card I had planned to use her wedding colors but when I pulled out this paper pad, I just went with the color them in the paper.  The paper came from Darice which is the first time I purchased one of their paper pads.  It is one of the Embellish by Dena called Kumari, I picked it up on clearance but can't remember  when or where maybe Michaels or Wal-Mart.  I cut the couple using the cricut Wedding solutions cartridge,  used some glittered paper for the head piece, added some
small pearls to the gown and a stamped sentiment and the card was done!

Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday.

A Happy Hello

Hello Monday, I meant to share this card yesterday but as life would have it I didn't get around to it.  I made this card for one of the request on our FB card angel group.  I have a hard time when it comes to selecting paper for male projects but I found these papers in one of my scrap piles, they are from an old K&CO Specialty paper pad.  I really like the paper so I didn't want to cover it so I just added a small stamped sentiment, some burlap twine and a wood veneer bike and the card was done!  I am sharing this card for the Super Scraps Saturday challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Take care and I hope you'll come back soon.

Thursday Musings

It's Thursday and I'm so looking forward to the weekend!  I'm not exactly sure why I am looking forward to the weekend because I will still have a full schedule and not enough time to work on some projects that I need to complete!  The weather is still gloomy here and I haven't felt much like doing anything extra.  Today I am sharing another card that I put together using leftover paper from another card.  I failed to meet my goal of finishing Mother's Day cards so I decided to send out a few thinking of you cards instead!  I heat embossed the sentiment, added punched butterflies (MS), ribbon and an enamel dot and the card was done!

Take care and I hope you'll come back again soon.

Hello Tuesday

It's raining outside again today so I'm feeling like I should be asleep!  I am feeling like I am so behind and that I simply cannot catch up!  Today I am sharing a card that I put together for the man across the street that came knocking at my door in distress Saturday night.  He presented me with a store brought card that he wanted to know if I could alter it because he had purchased it for his daughter and he failed to read it in it's entirety!  I'm not sure if he was wanted to give it to her on Sunday for Mother's Day (she is not a mother) or her birthday is on Friday; nontheless it was a Mother's Day card!   He was so excited and happy, all items used were in my stash so all it cost me was time which is premium right now!

Take card and have a great week.

Drum Roll Please

Hello and happy Friday, another rainy and gloomy day here in our area.  I'm so over the fact that the the April showers have spilled over into  May showers, my girlfriend and I were joking yesterday saying it has been raining forty days and nights!  So today I am sharing a LO, I am so far behind that I've just got to get the pictures scrapped without too much fanfare.  The LO uses some pictures taken at a meeting that I recently attended for an organization that I belong to associated with my husband's fraternity.  Although we had lots of food, fun and fellowship we still had to take care of some business too, I guess I should have scrapped some of those pictures too!  This makes the 9th LO of the year toward my challenge goal.

Happy Mother's Day, take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday Lucas

Hello and happy rainy Thursday!  I am feeling a little under the weather but I'm pressing on as there is always something to do.  So it's almost the weekend and National Scrapbooking Day is Saturday; what's on your agenda?  On Friday, my daughter and I will be volunteering at a festival,  we will  be attending a Mother's Day tea on Saturday and on Sunday we will probably go to church with my mom.

Today I am sharing another card that I put together for a young man that will be celebrating his 6th birthday on Friday; he is terminally ill so his parents requested cards for him through their local news and one of the FB card angels suggested that we send him cards too.  I am also sharing it for the Freestyle challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.  I think the pattern paper is from Karen Foster, something old that has been in my stash for a long time; I used the Create-a-Critter cricut cartridge for the dinosaur and the CTMH Artiste cartridge for the balloon!

Tale care.

Use Your Scraps

Hello and happy rainy Tuesday!  I am back today not feeling up to par and unable to figure out why aside for allergy season.  I am not a real FB guru but it seems I have recently been added to more groups and challenges.  So today I am sharing another card that I put together using paper from my stash of scraps for one of the challenges.  When I was going through some stuff in an effort to de-clutter I was about to give away two flowers that came with some items that I was gifted so instead I used one of them on on this card.  Since I chose the flower first I just needed some paper,   the ribbon used was part of the gifted items too.  The sketch inspiration came from a recent Mojo Monday sketch and the stamp is from Hero Arts.

Thank you for your visit and I hope you will visit again soon.

Easy Paper Purse

Hello and happy Sunday, I am back today with another driveby post.  I really meant to post yesterday but as life would have it I never got around to it!  I was busy running errands and getting ready for an evening out so today I am tired!  Today's project is one of the paper purses that are a buzz among crafters.  I used the simple one sheet method shared by Maymay from Maymay Made It, although there are many variations and even svg  files.  I used more paper from the Katy Davis Happiness paper pad along with some gems, a punch and magnets for the closure.  I wanted to use it for a gift bag for a party that my daughter  attended yesterday but she said you never use the first one, I think she didn't care for the paper!

Take care and have a wonderful week, it is raining here so it is going to be a lazy day for us!
