It has been a while since I posted so I rushed to finish this card this morning, not sure if I like it or not but it has gone postal to someone celebrating their birthday tomorrow. Another signature simple birthday card using provocraft solid and pattern paper, I cut the balloons with my cameo and the other tag and file tabs with my slice!
I'm sharing this card for two challenges, sketch #273 over at Clean & Simple Stamping and #130 Anything but Holiday over at Hiding in my Craft Room.
Wishing you and yours all the best in 2014.
WELCOME
Thank you for stopping by and sharing my world. Enjoy, leave a comment if you desire and return at your convenience.

Hello Sunday
I am up bright and early but really wanting to go back to bed. I spent yesterday trying to figute out how I can salvage Christmas especially since I'm not feeling it. I truly understand the reason for the season but right now I just can't wrap myself or my feelings into it. I gave up on sending out holiday cards this year; I'll distribute the few that I made at work tomorrow.
Today I'm sharing two more simple cards that I made with scraps from the gift card envelopes. While visiting my friend Felisa's blog over at The Scrapin Diva I saw that she used a tree embossing folder on one of her cards which reminded me that I had never used mine. So I opened mine and used it for the card I'm sharing today; I used stickles on the star along with some misc. pearl embellishments. The other card using a file from the silhouette store (recognize it), added some ribbon, a star and bling embellishments. I've made quite a few cards with the tees on them this year.
Have a great week and a blessed holiday.

Hello Friday
It's Friday and I'm feeling so out of sort and overwhelmed, another hectic work week which means everything else is chaotic too. No I am not ready for the upcoming holiday and at this point I really don't care, I'm emotionally drained and I can't get out of this funk. Today I'm sharing a picture of some gift card envelopes that I made for my job, I don't know what made me take this project on but its done and some people actually commented and liked receiving them. I used several different papers along with my envelope punch board, one of the best purchases I've made in a while!

Happy Holidays
Hello and Happy Thursday! I've been extremely busy which means I haven't had time to play with my pictures, paper and glue (DH's description of scrapbooking). I am so behind in getting my holiday cards made to the point where I might not send any out. It doesn't help that our social calendar is booked for the next few weeks. Where does the time go, where has this year gone?
Today I'm sharing a simple holiday card that I put together to include in a holiday gift swap. This card also meets the blog challenge for week #49 over at Scraps of Color. The challenge was to create a project using red, gold and green. The tree is a file from the silhouette online store, the gold pattern paper is from the DCWV foiled elegance stack and other items are from Recollections. Have a great day!

Service Project
RIP in peace Nelson Mandela. Prayers, condolences and prayers for traveling mercies for members of my husband's family as they celebrate the life of Aunt Lucy. We were unable to make the trip because of other obligations.
We had mild temps yesterday but its cold this morning and bracing ourselves for some winter weather this weekend so I may get to start on my own holiday cards. Wishing you and yours a blessed weekend.

Whatever Wednesday
Hello Wednesday, and today's post is going to be rather simple and to the point. I have been busy finishing up the holiday cards for our service project at the shelter. I will share pictures of those cards soon. The weather here is cool and rainy this morning so I am wanting to be in the bed, but duty calls gotta get to work as I have another busy day! Today's card is one that I made for one of my sista scrappin' friends mother. Her mother is celebrating her 85th birthday this week, I was honored to send her a card, I hope she likes it!

Hello Friday
Today I'm sharing a card that was created using sketch #321 over at Mojo Monday. I am also sharing this card for week 48 blog challenge over at Scraps of Color. The paper used came from a 6x6 paper pack called Welcome Christmas from Pebbles, that I picked up in Marshalls last weekend.. The remaining items came from my stash. Wishing you and yours a blessed weekend.

Thankful
I am so very thankful but I have been a little down for a few days. I am thankful for my family, faith, employment, and reasonable good health! I have been extremely busy at work in addition to what's going on in our family. I wasn't going to make cards but I needed a distraction so I put together about 12 cards using misc. paper, stamps, cricut cuts and other embellishments from my stash. I hope to get my Christmas cards started soon so I will be able to make more! Wishing you and yours a blessed Thanksgiving.
I'm sharing this post for the give thanks blog challenge post over at Scraps of Color for week #47. I was also sharing it over at Hiding in My Craft Room. This is my first time sharing over at HIMCR, if you're looking for some great challenges and inspirations you may want to visit their site.

Congratulations
Its the start of a new week and I haven't gotten anything done around the house and its time to go back to work! Oh well the good thing is that we're not hosting anyone for the holidays so maybe I'll have the energy to do something around the house. Today I'm sharing a card that I made for one of DH's fraternity brothers that got married yesterday: we had every intention of going to the wedding but we ran out of time so we decided not to go. The card sketch inspiration is from this week's sketch over at Clean and Simple Stamping. I embossed the background with my cuttlebug and cut the bride and groom from the cricut wedding cartridge. The stamp is from Stampin' Up and the pearls are Recollections. Wishing you and yours a great week.

Veterans Day
The day is almost over but I didn't want the day to end without expressing my sincere gratitude to our veterans. Happy Veterans Day to the brave men and women that currently serve and those that have previously served. Thank you for the sacrifice.
Today's card is one that was inspired by this week's sketch over Clean and Simple Stamping. I am also sharing this card for week #45 blog sketch over at Scraps of Color. I put this card together using scraps of paper, the circle star was cut from the Stand and Salute cricut cartridge and the stamp is from Stampin' Up.

Fall Fun
Hello Sunday, warm fall day here today; I went in to work today so we didn't make it to church. I am thankful beyond measure even though there are challenges all around. Today's LO is one that I created using pictures of our annual trip to select a pumpkin. Long gone are the days when we go to a traditional pumpkin patch. We usually just go to one of the neighborhood churches that set up a pumpkin patch on their front lawn annually. They have a very good selection that they get from Mexico and overprice; but we look at our purchase as supporting one of their missions. We were suppose to decorate and enter it in a pumpkin decorating contest being hosted by dd's orthodondist but we never got around to doing it. As for the LO I didn't follow a sketch or challenge just selected some paper and random embellishments from my stash. Thank you for stopping by, wishing you and yours a beautiful week.

OWH Card Sketch 197
Hello Friday, cool crisp fall day wiith lots to be thankful for despite some challenges. All week I have been trying to get some play time in so I finally finished this card. The sketch inspiration for this card is from this week's sketch over at Operation Write Home. The papers used were from a 6x6 paper pack that I received last year during a holiday gift exchange over at Scraps of Color. The stamp is one that has been in my stash for a long time, I received it from another scrapper for being a challenge participant. I colored the tree with some random pencils that I've had forever. Have a great weekend!

Warmest Wishes
Its Saturday and I'm back to share another signature simple card that I created when I got home from work yesterday. I needed to do something to relax my mind so I decided to play a little! The sketch inspiration for this card is from Operation Write Home. I just used the leftover paper scraps from a card that I made earlier this week along with some gems. I think the sentiment is a Stampin' Up stamp, all done without alot of fanfare!

Kappa Wives
Hello and Happy Friday! I finally finished the LO that I started a week ago during the Scraps of Color Anniversary Pajama Party. I used the provided sketch for inspiration and a picture from an event that we attended in June. The papers used were from several packs, I used my Slice to cut the word Kappa and the thickers for the word wives. I struggled with which colors and embellishments to use since I tend to use the same colors when I scrap Kappa related pictures. I especially like the pearls around the picture and the flower by Webster's ( a gift from a sista friend). Thank you for your visit, have a great weekend.

Project in Progress
It's the last day of the month and almost the end of the week and I have been trying to post something all week. I have been working on a LO that I started last Friday and have yet to complete. Yesterday morning I woke up and started and almost finished the card that I am sharing today. It is a work in progress that was inspired by a cricut card from the Creative Holiday Cards cricut cartridge. Although the card that I am showing is done it is not one that I would give to someone, my daughter has claimed it as her own. I used two punches, a circle and star to create the tree: stamped the sentiment and a layer of pattern paper and and a solid in addition to the base. The time consuming part was adhering the circles! I will be sure to share the finished card once I am done. Take care, we have been enjoying warmer temps this week!

Thanks
Hello Thursday! My last few posts have been LOs, I hope to spend some time working on a few more over the weekend. Today I'm sharing a card that I put together last night for this week's sketch over at Clean and Simple Stamping. I used the DCWV Juniper Berry 6x6 paper stack, the flower from is from Recollections and flower gems are some that I think I received in a RAK. I'm still making thank you cards, will need to switch soon as the holidays are approaching. Have a great day, are you enjoying the Fall temps?

Family Love
Hello and Happy Sunday! Today I am sharing a LO that really warmed my heart to complete, one that was emotionally challenging but has helped me in my grief. I was going through my phone and found these pictures of my sister with my children, this would be the last time my son would see her.
The sketch inspiration for the LO is this month's pajama party hosted by Tiare over at iClassygirl. I wasn't able to join the online party but decided to use the sketch for these pictures. I used pattern paper and some of the embellishments from a Colorbok kit, foam Thickers for the title and buttons from American Crafts. This is another one of those LOs where I think it looks better in person!
Wishing you a great week.

Have Some Cake
This has been a very busy week and I'm in need of some downtime, I've also committed myself to do some training at work on Saturday too. I don't know what I was thinking since it is homecoming weekend here and we'll be going to Virginia Union University for some of their weekend festivities!
I'm excited to share today's LO for three different challenges. Scraps of Color week #41 blog challenge was to create a project that included a birthday cake. Scraps of Color is celebrating its 9th anniversary this month. The LO uses some pictures that I took last Friday when we went to visit my mom for her birthday. We always take her a cake from a bakery here, I originally had planned to cut a cake with my cricut. I just didn't feel like pulling it out, I couldn't believe I didn't have a cake sticker! Looking at how the picture of the LO came out I am not sure I like it, its one of those cases where it looks better in person.
The LO's sketch was inspired by October's week #2 LO challenge over at Let's Get Sketchy, I had fun using last week's sketch so I decided play along again this week. Finally over at Scrap Our Stash they are having a tic tac toe challenge for this month. I used the three items from the top row going across which included: buttons, washi tape and chipboard. All items used have been in my stash for quite some time. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Game Face
Wow, I was up well past midnight trying to finish this LO Hello Monday and Happy Columbus Day, I'm not one of the lucky people that happen to be off work today!
Today I am sharing a LO that was inspired by October's week #1 sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy. The LO uses a picture of my daughter taken earlier this month while we were at Dave and Buster's. She wasn't really feeling the picture, sometimes she doesn't like to take pictures! I used some paper from the K&Co Citronella specialty pack, washi tape, game tickets and other embellishments from my stash.
Have a great week!

Start the Party
I'm also sharing this card for week #39 blog challenge over at Scraps of Color, the challenge was a "anything goes card" for world card making day.
I went to work today, ran errands, attended a girl scout event with my daughter, played a little and now I've got to get dinner ready and tackle some house chores.

Girls Rule
Happy Friday and Happy International Day of the Girl! I hope you will do your part in helping to educate and inspire girls so that the world can be changed. Happy 72nd birthday to my mom, my favorite girl! Today is cool, rainy and dreary but I'm preparing to go visit my mom for her birthday.
Today I am sharing another LO from the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy workshop, I'm not sure I'll ever finish but my goal is to get them done before I have to start working on my holiday cards. The challenge was to use stickers, I only used a few stickers but I used some that have been lingering around for a while. The LO uses pictures taken of some of the flowers in our yard one day during the summer, I wanted to capture them fully bloomed before they were gone! I had a hard time getting a good picture of the LO because of the weather.

October
October is a busy month of many health awareness observations, I was not aware of most of them. Over at Scraps of Color the blog challenge for this week was to share a project centered around breast cancer or domestic violence awareness. Today I am sharing a picture of the bulletin board that I did at work. I used the Designer Calendar cricut cartridge to cut the month and my cameo to cut the ribbons. The other listings were typed on the computer, printed and matted. There you have it, now go forth and support a cause.

Thank You
I didn't get to play very much yesterday as my chores got the best of me and my playtime was limited. The weather was nice so my husband needed me to help in the yard so that put me behind with my inside chores. I did manage to use this week's sketch over at Clean & Simple Stamping to make another thank you card. I like this sketch so I'll be using it again! The pattern paper is from the DCWV 6x6 folied elegance stack, the flowers are from the Paper Studio and the trim is Recollections. Wishing you and yours a great week.

National Card Making Day
Hello and Happy National Card Making Day, what are your plans for today? I don't have any formal plans just hoping I can get in some play time. Today I'm sharing a project that I just finished for delivery later today. My husband asked me to make forty thank you cards for one of his fraternity brothers. When he asked me he said 'I volunteered you for a job' I graciously accepted to keep the peace! I knew that the cards would be distributed to a bunch of men that would not have an appreciation for a handmade card so I kept it simple; I even ran the cards through the printer to print the inside message. A Darice embossing folder for the sentiment and my silhouette cameo to cut the greek letters for the closure and two packages of Recollections cards and envelopes. The hardest part was finding the time to put them together and figuring out the handwriting to address the envelopes. The task has been completed, packaged for delivery and my husband will probably earn some bragging rights with the guys! Wishing you a great day and fun weekend!

Are you Okay
Hello Tuesday and Happy October, I'm back today to share a LO that I finished over the weekend. This is another LO from the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy workshop. Although I vowed to finish the workshop I'm starting to feel like this is never ending. I think I still have about ten more projects to complete, one thing I do know for sure I can't complete a LO or card a day! The LO uses pictures taken of my daughter the day she had surgery in August, she looked like a zombie from all the meds. According to the doctor she healed perfectly so for that we're thankful. The paper came from the Kathy Davis Happiness paperpack, the buttons and ribbons were a gift (thanks Kelli), part of the title cut with my cricut using the Letter Envy cartridge (first time using it) and the word 'you' some old stickers that I've been trying to use forever. The photo corners and brackets are from Making Memories and I have had them forever too! I also used a piece of gauze that she was given upon discharge that we never used. Take care and have a great day.

Hello Fall
Saturday, September 28, 2013
Hello Saturday
It has been a lazy kind of day here and I'm taking advantage by doing as less as possible. I'll be mad at myself tomorrow but for today I'm not thinking about it. Today's card is one that I created using this week's sketch over at Clean & Simple Stamping. This sketch was right in line with my whole style of keeping it simple. I used just two pieces of washi tape that I picked up from the Dollar Tree, a few pearls and a stamp from a CTMH thank you set. I see that I may need to re-enforece the glue some on the edges of the tape but other than that I like how it came together; I especially like that it took me less than 10 minutes to put it together. The mailman delivered my envelope punch board today so I may open it to see if I can figure it out. No I didn't need it but I decided that I had to have it!

Sisters
It's just the two of us now, we just have each other; that's how my youngest sister ends our conversations now. She reminds me that I am the oldest now and we have to take of each other, not ready to fill those shoes. I've been going through my pictures because I want to frame a LO for my mom for her birthday next month. I wish I had more pictures of me and my sisters, I don't like taking pictures so I am usually the one behind the camera. When I came across this picture of me and my younger sister I decided to scrap it for this month's I Scrapbook, Therefore, I AM challenge over at Scraps of Color. This month's challenge could be back to school or sisterhood related. I used my cricut to cut the dress form from the Formal Occasion cartridge, first time using that cartridge! Take care and have a blessed day.
Off to School
Today's LO and card is one that I worked on last weekend. The LO uses pictures from my daughter's first day of school and the sketch inspiration is from the September Pajama Party hosted by Tiare from iClassygirl and Scraps of Color. All items for the LO and card came from my scrap stash and the card was given to our nephew who celebrated his 11th birthday yesterday.

Thank You
I can't say thank you enough for all of the love, kindness and expressions shown to me during what has been some really dark hours. Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart, I am feeling better but this season continues to be heart wrenching. I spent this weekend trying to get some play time in and I have managed to complete a few projects.
Today I'm sharing a project from the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy workshop challenge that I participated in over the summer. I am committed to finishing the workshop challenges even though the event is now over. Today's library pocket card was from day 30 of the workshop, I am now completing the projects in random order. I am also sharing this card for the weekly blog challenges over at Scraps of Color. The challenge for week 37 is called Die Cutter's Delight. This week's blog challenge is to pull out our die-cutting machines and make a project using them. I used my cameo to cut the library pocket card using a file from the silhouette store. The paper used is from a Kathy Davis Happiness stack that I picked up on clearance from JoAnn's. The embellishments are from Recollections and the stamp Studio G.
Wishing you and yours a great week!

Wednesday Wanderings
It's Wednesday and our nation is pausing to remember the life changing events that took place on September 11, 2001. Prayers for peace as our nation continues to heal. Today is also the 75th birthday of my father-in-law. I haven't had the energy to craft but I got up this morning and put together one of my 'signature simple cards' so that my daughter would have one to give to him tonight. I did manage to complete another project in the wee hours of the morning but I did't have a chance to take a picture of it. I will be making a trip to the store today to purchase a card from DH and I, it has taken everything that I have to do the simpliest of things All card components are from my stash. Wishing you and yours a great day.

First Day of School
First day of school today, look at our 7th grade tween. She was tired of taking pictures and didn't want to cooperate by the time I took this picture with my cell phone as we were getting in the car. She woke up early this morning but we still didn't make our target departure time so we'll be working on fine tuning our morning ritual. I sure hope it doesn't rain today so that that "school do" will last!

Labor Day
Hello Monday and Happy Labor Day! Just wanted to share a post thanking everyone for their kind words and expression. You have warmed my heart; the road won't be easy but it will be come easier as time passes. Not too much going on today, I wanted to craft but I can't seem to focus.

Celebrations
Today as my husband celebrates the day of his birth we will be celebrating the life of my beloved oldest sister. She was 54 years young, Fay passed on Tuesday. I still can't believe it but I am standing on grace; it hurts so bad but I've got to keep pressing on. She fought a good fight but it just wasn't meant to be! This is one of the last pictures that me and my sisters took together.

Thinking of You
I'm sending well wishes for a great day to all those that will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the cvil rights march in Washington today. There will be lots of people so I pray for peace and the safety for all those that will be in attendance. The weather should be good after all of the rain yesterday.
Today I am sharing another card that I made for one of the challenges of the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy workshop. The challenge was to use a person, mist and some bling. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture but I did mist the card base. The little girl with the heart is one that comes loaded on the silhouette, the stamp is an old one from the Michael's $1 bin and the bling Recollections. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Back 2 School
Summer vacation is almost over for my daughter and she'll be heading back to school after Labor Day. I'm back at work today after being off to take care of my daughter who had an outpatient medical procedure earlier this week; my MIL will be taking care of her until she goes back to school. My sister is doing better and should be out of ICU tomorrow; my heart is a little less heavy!
Today I'm sharing a card that I made using inspiration from sketch #186 from Operation Write Home. I am also sharing this card for week 33 blog challenge over at Scraps of Color and the monthly challenge over at Mema's Crafts . When making this card I used paper scraps, bling, a CTMH stamp and a foam sticker star all from my stash.
Thank your for stopping by, wishing you a great day.

Friends
Hello Tuesday, lots still going on but I'm still standing on God's grace and mercy. Today's LO is another project from the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy workshop. The workshop has ended but I still have a ways to go before I finish all the assigments! The challenge for this LO was to use paint on the background and to make a layered flower with torn crumpled paper. I'm not sure you can see the paint but it's there and I also inked the edges for the flower. The metal title is something that has been in my stash for a while and I used my cameo to cut the frame. The picture is of my daughter and one of her friends at a girl scout event earlier this summer.

Thinking of You
Its Thursday, a cool morning with a forecast of warmer temps this weekend. My mind and heart is heavy too much to try to sort through; I'm starting to think I need a break; a vacation of some sorts. I need some 'me time' or something to take my mind and thoughts in a different direction. Oh well such as it I've got to press on and keep looking upward!
Today I'm sharing a circle card, nothing fancy as that's just not my style! I'm sharing this card for the week 32 blog challenge over at Scraps of Color. The card base was cut using my cricut and the Wild Card cartridge. I used paper from the DCWV Latte paper stack, the flower and pearl embellishments from Recollections. The stamp has been in my stash forever, one that I picked up from the $1 bin at Michaels.
Wishing you a great day.

Christmas in August
Hello Tuesday! Today's post short and to the point; it's my first holiday card for the season. My play time continues to be limited.
It's another signature simple card for week 31 blog challenge over at Scraps of Color. The inspiration for this card is sketch 253 from Clean & Simple Stamping. I used scrap paper from my stash along with TPC Studio and Hampton Art stamps. Take care and have a great day.

Once Upon a Time
Its Thursday and I finally finished a LO to post, haven't felt much like scrappin' I just don't have the energy. I do have the desire but emotionally I just can't seem to do it. My sister is headed back to Alabama later today for more test.
So today's LO is one that I completed for day 11 of the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy workshop hosted by Tiare from iClassygirl, I am so far behind but I do plan to finish the workshop. This LO uses some school age pictures of DH, I will probably use them again with some pictures of our daughter at the same age. All items from my stash, the main challenge was to use metal embellishments, I also used washi tape and ribbon. Take care and have a great day!

Feel Better Soon
Hello Saturday, getting ready for another busy day. Today I'm sharing a card that I made to send to my sister who was recently diagnosed with needing a liver transplant. She lives in Georgia and has been in Alabama this week testing and getting ready to be placed on the transplant list. Please keep our family in prayer.
The inspiration for this card came from sketch #183 over at Operation Write Home. I used a Making Memories 6x6 paper pad that's been in my stash forever along with a stamp that I picked up from the Hobby Lobby earlier this year. Can you see that I even inked the edges of the paper? Take care and enjoy your day!

Got Braces! Got Glasses!
Hello and Happy Friday, I am not necessarily doing the weekend happy dance but I'm hoping for a little down time. Today's LO is one that I started last night and finished just this morning for the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy workshop challenge. As I stated in my last post I am so far behind that I need several days of nothing but scrappin' to catch up! It doesn't help that I'm still trying to squeeze some other challenges into the mix too! So today's LO uses pictures taken of our daughter the day she received her braces and glasses both on the same day. She has a new look for her return to school but she's still smiles radiantly and looks beautiful. I am still scrappin' my stash using items that I've had for quite some time. I used blinged lettering for the word 'GOT' but they don't show very well in the picture. I even used my cricut to cut the sunglasses as a stand-in for glasses! Thank you for stoppin' by, hope you have blessed weekend.

Together
Hello Sunday and I'm back today with another LO from the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy challenge. The LO uses pictures of my father and his siblings at a recent family reunion, all of his living siblings attended with the exception of one brother. I used paper from an old CTMH paper pack, distressed the edges on the patten paper (which isn't visible in the picture) and cut a slit in the top of the base. The flowers and bling are from Recollections, the blinged title and other stickers are from Me & My Big Ideas. All items used came from my stash! Have a great week, sure hope I can keep up!

July 4th
Today's post is a LO using pictures from our 4th of July holiday. We went to the museum to see a pop art exhibit and listen to a jazz band and afterwards we just happen to catch the end of the fireworks from a gas station parking lot! The sketch and inspiration is from day 3 of the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy Challenge hosted by Tiare over at iClassygirl. I used a kraft base along with misc. pattern papers, foam star stickers, and chipboard.
I am also sharing this LO over at Scrap Our Stash for their stash challenge #5 and the monthly challenge over at Mema's Crafts. Have a great weekend, be safe and try to stay cool.

Wednesday Wanderings
Its Wednesday, mid July and I'm here with another edition of Wednesday Wanderings. I don' t know where the time has gone. Lots going on as usual and of course my mind is racing as I type this post! I forgot that I have a training class this morning and I need to decide how I'm going to get there, its too hot to walk, no parking if I drive and the shuttle maze is another story.
Today I am sharing a card that I started last night and finished this morning using sketch #249 from Clean & Simple Stamping. I used paper from the Provocraft 6x12 celebrations stack along with one of my favorite border punches from EK Success. I used my SLICE to cut the flower and sentiment tag, the button came in a bag from the daily scrapbook deals peachycheap website.
We are headed to a B.B. King concert this evening, its outside so I hope the weather cooperates. This means I won't have time to work on today's assignment for the SASIE challenge unless by some small miracle I can pull it off when I get home tonight. I just don't know why I can't bring myself to get in the habit of making page kits!
Thank you for stopping by, have a great day and try to stay cool!
