Love is...Me and You
Happy Valentine’s Day and welcome to the Scraps of Color
Hearts and Roses Blog Hop! I, along with
some other talented crafters have teamed up to share Valentines and love-themed
projects. Since Valentine’s Day is all
about sharing the love, this hop is no exception. There will be giveaways on various blogs
throughout the hop.
Today I’m sharing a little keepsake acrylic album that I created
to give to my DH. It was a labor of love
and one that took more time putting together than I thought. There’s nothing fancy about it since I wanted
to highlight the pictures and using such a small space prevented a lot of
embellishing. I am pleased with the way
it turned out and I’m sure he’ll appreciate it.
One of the hardest parts was taking the pictures for this post.
I used paper from the Recollections With Love 6x6 paper pad
and the DCWV Year Round 8.5 x11 paper stack.
I used my SLICE to cut the title for the top cover and my CRICUT for the
back cover. All items used have been in
my stash for a long time with the exception of the little wooden veneers on the
back cover. The album includes pictures
from various events including our wedding, his sister’s wedding, fraternity
events and other celebrations.
I hope you have enjoyed my project for this weekend’s blog
hop and that you’ll visit the other blogs and leave them some love. In the spirit of love I will be sharing a surprise
giveaway for one person that leaves a comment on this post. I will select one person by random drawing
and post the prize and winner before midnight EST on Monday, February 17, 2014.

Congrats
Inspiration for today's card came from Mojo Monday sketch #332. I'm also sharing it for this week's blog challenge over at Scraps of Color embossing challenge, I used dry embossing. Lastly, I'm sharing it over at Hiding in my Craft Room for their challenge #136.
Did you guess it, DH got a new job; I'm so proud of him as this new venture comes with some challenges but I know that he can do it! The time had come for him to make a change, we're thankful for God's favor in this opportunity. Thank you for your visit and I hope you come back soon; I'm wishing you and yours a great week.

Anniversary Love
This LO is one that I have been working on for a few weeks and finally just decided to finish and post it today. I originally started it for a challenge with numbers but that deadline came and went, then I was going to share it for a blog hop but decided against that too. Instead I''m sharing today's LO for week #6 blog challenge over at Scraps of Color. Although this week's challenge was titled Valentine's Day the only requirement was that you use at least one heart on your project. The pictures used on this LO were taken last year when we went to visit my parents on their 51st anniversary! Wishing you a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl
This is the card that I made for her using a cut from the silhouette store, I tried to use some of her favorite colors (blue and purple), had a hard time finding some pattern paper to fit the bill. Just a few small embellishments (ribbon and pearls) and the card was done. I think it looks better in person, I like how it came out and I think she'll enjoy it especially the message that has been included inside. I'll hold her a little tighter today and she probably won't like it but one day she'll understand.

Chinese New Year
Did you know that yesterday, January 31 was the start of the Chinese New Year and my son's 30th birthday? Today, I spent the day at a crop and I actually did make something in addition to the normal chatting, socializing and shopping! So I'm sharing the card that I created for this week's blog challenge over at Scraps of Color. This week's challenge was to create a project with an Asian inspired theme, I used a die cut that I received in a swap some time ago, the pattern paper was one of my purchases today. The die cut is from the Pagoda cricut cartridge.
