Wednesday Musings

Hello and happy Wednesday, it has been over a week since my last post.  I trust that you had a wonderful holiday and hope that you will be tremendously blessed in the new year.  I am preparing for a road trip for a New Year's Eve celebration so I probably won't share again until the weekend.  Today I am sharing a card that I made for my neighbors since I didn't make many Christmas cards.  I used paper from the DCWV Twinkle Glints 6x6 paper pad along with a few embellishments from Jolees.

Take care and be safe.

Happy Birthday Danita

Happy Birthday to Danita, one of my besties!  I am so happy that our paths just happen to cross as we cruised together on the last Provocraft Cricut cruise!  It's your birthday and I hope that your day is filled with as much fun and joy that your heart can hold.  I hope your day is as special as you are to me.  I'm sharing your card here today because it didn't go postal in time to reach you but any day is a good day to receive some "happy mail."   Charge it to my head and not my heart as I had good intentions, I love you!

Take care!

Happy Birthday Paula

Hello and happy Monday, it's me last Minute Molly about to make a fast break to stand in line at the post office!  I am taking a break from sharing holiday cards to share some birthday cards that I made for some of the FB card angels!  Today is Paula's birthday, I hope she'll have lots of fun celebrating and that she'll be blessed with many more years to celebrate her birthday!

Take care, I hope you stop by again soon!

Season's Greettings

Hello and happy Sunday, I am back today to share another holiday.  No my cards haven't gone postal yet but I am hopeful they will go out tomorrow.  Today's card uses paper from the American Craft Kri he and Co. 6x6 pad,  a sticker from Papaer Studio and the sentiment is from the Hampton Art holiday stamp set.  I still have lots to do so I hope to try to schedule some posts for this week as I sprint to finish my holiday preparations.

Take care and have a wonderful day.

Holiday Greetings

It's Thursday and the week is winding down but I'm gearing up for two holiday parties and a flurry of shopping that has to be done!    I'm the type of person that sits down on Christmas Eve evening and wraps gifts and it looks like I'll be doing the same thing this year!  I'm back today to share another holiday card that I put together using paper from the same paper stack from a few days ago.  I really think it is American Crafts, need to confirm that the next time I use a sheet of it.  I cut the tag using my SLICE and the bow is from the cricut CTMH Artiste cartridge and the sentiment is a die cut with my Cuttlebug.

Take care and enjoy your day!

Whatever Wednesday

It's a whirlwind Wednesday for me but I'm just taking it all in stride.  Two more days of school, can't wait because I'm feeling like why make all of these pressing papers and projects due just before the holiday.  We have cooler temps today with the forecast for rain tomorrow,  I'm still on a cardmaking roll but I had to switch gears a bit today's card is a birthday card  This card is going postal to one of the card angels from our Facebook group, following with my clean and simple style it is ready for the mail!   I had a hard time getting a good picture, I think it may be the shimmery paper but I am pleased with the outcome.  The cupcake is a sticker from a Martha Stewart pack that I received as a thank you gift for a recent purchase.  I have a few more birthday cards for this month so I'll probably use more stickers from the pack; proud of myself for using them right away and not hoarding them!

Take care and have wonderful Wednesday.

Tuesday Musings

Yes, call me last minute Molly but it looks like I won't be able to finish my holiday cards.  As simple as my cards are it still takes me a long time to make/put them together.  So I am planning to just use a picture of us taken on Thanksgiving day on my holiday cards!  So today I am sharing one of the cards that I did manage to finish so I'll be sending some handmade cards!  I can't remember which 6x6 paper pad I used, the tree is a stamp from one set and sentiment from another, colored the star and added a few epoxy stickers and the card was done!

Take care and have a wonderful day.

BE Happy

It's Thursday one more day until the weekend; mild temps outside and even warmer temps for the weekend.  I am back today sharing another card for the card group,  an encouragement card going postal tomorrow or Saturday.  The sketch inspiration for the card came from sketch #98 over at Can You Case It?   I used pattern paper from a Momenta pad, my SLICE to cut the tag, some ribbon and the little butterfly is a Recollections sticker.  I also used my little American Crafts stapler for the first time, I picked t up from Tuesday Morning on clearance earlier this year!

Take care and have a terrific Thursday!

Wednesday Musing

Hello and happy Wednesday!  I am back today to share another card created for the FB card group,  I used pattern paper from the Teresa Collins 6x6 Urban Market paper pad, a flower and pearl from Recollections and stamp from Pink Bow Ties  I am trying to catch up on these cards so I can get my holiday cards made and in the mail by the end of next week.  I sure hope I can do it as I failed to meet my goal for Thanksgiving so most everyone got their cards the Friday after!

Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday!

Monday Musings

Hello and happy Monday, I can't believe I shared shared since last Wednesday!  I made some cards last week that went postal on Saturday but I didn't take the time to create a post for them.  I'm still hoping I can get some time in soon to work on my LOs.  We had a fun weekend as our daughter went to her first high school homecoming dance and my DH and I went to another event on the same evening.  December is a busy month so I'll be putting in overtime getting ready for everything. Today I am sharing another card created for the FB group, going postal later today.  I can't remember the company or name of the paper that I used but it is a 6x6 pad that I picked up from Tuesday Morning earlier this year.  The stamp is from the card group stamp from Pink Bow Ties, a MS butterfly punch and some Recollections pearls.

Take care and enjoy your week!

Tall and Skinny

It is turning out to be a really busy week trying to finish getting ready for this weekend.  I also had another not so restful night, it is actually 3:30 am and I am awake working on this post.  I am back today to share a style of the card that I have been meaning to try for some time, the inspiration came from this week's Mojo Monday sketch #426.  I cut the base at 6x7 and scored it at 3.5 so that means I'll make an envelope too.  I used papers from the Heidi Swapp Favorite Things 6x6 paper pad with a flower from Recollections and  a Pink Bow Ties stamp.   I am so proud to have finished another card going postal with the next few days.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Wednesday!

Tuesday Musings

It's raining here again today and I want to be in the bed asleep.  My DH has a job where he basically works 24 hours a day so when the phone rang at 2 AM this morning and after chatting with the person on the phone, he finally told them he was on his way.  So for me that meant I was awaken and couldn't get back to a deep sleep until hours later he called to wake me up because he was on his way back home.

I was going to share another card that I made for the FB group but instead I am sharing a picture that we took on Thanksgiving Day.  I am so looking forward to scrapping the pictures that we took during the Thanksgiving holiday.  We had 35 family people, mostly family with a few friends that came to Richmond, Virginia from Ohio, Georgia, Louisiana, Illinois, Maryland, Rhode Island, Spain and from Fredericksburg, Hampton and Norfolk here in Virginia.

Take care.

Sunday, November 29, 2015

Hello Sunday

I trust that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving sharing with family and friends.  I did and I am so very tired but I still must press on.  I did a little shopping over the weekend only because December is a very busy month for us socially.  We have parties, galas and my daughter has her first high school homecoming dance; so that meant dresses and shoe had to be purchased so no money for crafting goodies!  I didn't need anything since I already have more than I will probably ever use.

Today's card is one that has already gone postal to someone involved in an accident, made it for the FB card group using sketch inspiration #313 from Crazy4Challenges..  I used paper from the Ki Autumn Flowers paper pad along with stamps from the Creative Card Angels stamp set from Pink Bow Ties created especially for our FB group!

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Happy Friday

I trust that you and your family had a blessed Thanksgiving celebration.  I am back today to share another card that I put together for the FB card group and it has already gone postal.  I used more of the Autumn Splendor paper, some K&Co. gems and the flower was cut using one of the Darice dies that I  recently picked up in Tuesday Morning.  I am sharing this card for the lots of layers challenge #201 over at Use Your Stuff.  I hope my next post will be of a LO that has been sitting around waiting for me to finish for months!

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Wednesday Wanderings

Hello and happy Wednesday, one more day until Turkey Day!  I am working today and may even come in for a few hours on Friday, I will be off on Thursday to spend time and visit with family and friends.  I really would love to just spend the day working on some LOs since I've only been doing cards lately.  Today's card is one that I put together using more paper from the Autumn Splendor paper pack.  This paper has been in my stash for at least 4 years and I just started using it, it was a gift from another scrapper.  I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder and I really didn't want to cover up the words so I just added a single flower with a button in the center.

Take care and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I'll be back to share again on Friday!

Marvelous Monday

Hello and happy Monday, as usual the weekend went by way too fast!  I am running behind getting my Thanksgiving cards in the mail, I plan to make a post office run during lunch.  I didn't meet my target quantity or mail date but such is life.  Today I am sharing a card using sketch inspiration from Stampin' Celebration sketch #117.  I used more paper from the Making Memories Autumn Splendor paper pack, a punch for the flag, cut the leaf with my SLICE and added a few jellies and this card was done!  I am also sharing this card for the Be Thankful challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.   I have my friend Felisa to thank for all of the different sketch challenges, she keeps my mailbox full with inspiration.

Take care and have a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving.

Thursday, November 19, 2015

Hello Thursday

It's raining outside but it is warm, love these nice temperatures in the Fall; I am not looking forward to Winter.  Well let the countdown begin, one week until Turkey Day!  Today's card is one that I put together for the FB card group, it is going postal to someone that recently suffered a loss.  I used paper scraps from another card that I made recently, the paper is from Making Memories and the stamp is from the Pink Bow Ties creative card angel set.  Added a few pearls and this card was done. I am sharing this card for the Super Scraps Saturday challenge #225 over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Wednesday Wanderings

Today has been a busy day so I am just getting around to posting, I started my day by attending my daughter's parent teacher conference, it took over three hours for me to speak to all of her teachers.  It was good we just need a little attitude adjustment she received many compliments on her leadership abilities!  I am back today to share another Thanksgiving card that I put together using a sketch from The Crooked Stamper.  I made several cards using this sketch so I am almost done so I hope to meet my Friday mailing deadline.  The pattern paper used is a leftover sheet from last year's paper purchase from Hobby Lobby so I think I have enough to make two more cards and then it will be gone!  I cut the turkey using the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge, added a gem for the eye and a stamped sentiment and it was done!  I am also sharing this card for this week's color challenge over at Can You Case It?

Take care and come back soon!

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

Hello Tuesday

I am back today to share a birthday card that I put together using a stamped image that I colored during a recent FB challenge.  The stamp is from the set called Sorority from Pink Bow Ties,  I have had it for a while so I am not sure whether it is still available.  I put this card together this morning for one of the challenges that I received in my email yesterday from one of my scrapping besties. The Anything Goes challenge was posted over at Seize the Birthday.  All items used on this card have been in my stash for some time with the exception of the Off the Grid paper from Colobok which I picked up last month in a discount store called Ollie's

Take care and remain prayerful for the world, our country and families including mine!

Something Different

Hello and Happy Sunday, the weekend is coming to an end and I can't suy that I accomplished a lot!  Oh well such is life, I am back today to share another card that I put together for Thanksgiving, I sure hope I finish and get them in the mail by Friday!  As you know I usually stick to clean and simple paper crafting and I rarely step out of my comfort zone.   I finally pulled out my supplies and did some wet embossing, this is probably not a big deal to most but I finally tried it after having it on my to do list forever.  I hope that you can see it on the sentiment, it's not perfect; I do plan on adding more wet embossing on more of my holiday cards.   I used some paper from a Making Memories (Autumn Splendor) paper pack that has been in my stash for a long time.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Thankful Thursday

Hello and happy Thursday, originally I wasn't going to post today but I decided to share this card that I put together last night.  The sketch inspiration came from sketch #423 over at Mojo Monday, I feel like it's missing something but in the interest of time I need to hurry and finish my Thanksgiving cards!  I am also sharing this card for the Thanksgiving/Fall Color Challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2 and the Anything Goes Challenge over at the Fantabulous Cricut challenge blog.  I used more paper scraps and the Autumn Celebrations cricut cartridge and this card was done!

Tomorrow starts the weekend, do you have any exciting plans?  My DH will be heading out of town today so it'll be just me and baby girl.  I sure hope we can get lots of  chores done and we still need to shop for shoes for her homecoming dance.  I am hoping to finish up my Thanksgiving cards and settle on a sketch so I can start my Christmas cards!

Happy Veterans Day

Today I'm joining in celebrating, honoring and thanking the many men and women that serve and have served in the armed forces and their families.  Thank you to my dad, uncles, aunts, father-in-law, brother-in-law, other family and friends that have served or continue to serve.  Today I am sharing a card that I put together for one of my co-workers that retired from service in the army.  I used the Stand and Salute cartridge for all the cuts on the card and paper from my stash.

It's going to be a nice day here so I will probably take a walk during lunch.  Thank you for your visit and I hope you will come back soon.

have a Great Day

It's raining and cool outside so I'm feeling like I should be in bed!  The rain should stop at some point today and they are calling for warmer temps tomorrow.  I'm back again today to share another card created and sent on behalf of the Creative Card Angels group on facebook.  The person receiving the card is actually a member of the group that has had some health issues lately.  The inspiration for this card came from one of last week's posted on Obsessed with Scrapbooking.  I just used some scraps from an old 6x6 paper pad, I think it may have been Basic Grey.  I cut the red circle using the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge and punches for the pattern scallop and white circle.  All done another signature simple card using scraps of paper and a stamped sentiment!

Monday, November 9, 2015

Hello Monday

It's Monday again and of course the weekend went by so fast that I really didn't complete much of anything on my 'to do' list.  I did manage to put together more cards for the FB card group and that is what I'll be sharing this week as I try to finish up my own Thanksgiving cards; still not sure when I'll have time to work on a LO.  Today's card will be going postal to someone that is seriously ill and will soon be heading to hospice care.  The sketch inspiration for this card came from Die Cuttin Divas,   I used paper from my scrap stash,  a die, a stamp  and a few pebbbles.  When I saw that tree on my crafty friend Felisa's blog I decided I needed it, it is from Darice and I was able to pick it up from Tuesday Morning for a great price.  I used my cuttlebug to cut it.  Take care, stay warm and have a wonderful week.

Fall Pumpkin

Hello Saturday, I am back today to share another Thanksgiving card.  I am sharing today's card for the pumpkin challenge over at Bitten by the Bug2.  I used more scraps of paper from my stash along with the Autumn Celebrations cricut cartridge to cut the pumpkin and the Wall Decor and More cartridge for the vine.  I chose not to add a sentiment to the outside of the card so this card will be done once I add the inside message.  It has been a busy week so I will need to try to play catch with making cards for the FB card group and just maybe I'll get to work on a LO!

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Friday, November 6, 2015

Hello Friday

Today I am sharing another card that I am sending to someone that recently suffered a loss.  The sketch inspiration came from Your Next Stamp challenge #26.  I used paper scraps from a 6x6 Basic Grey paper pad called Serendipity and a stamp that has been in my stash for a very long time.  I cut the lily using the Garden Soup cricut cartridge, first time using this cartridge; another unused item finally opened and used!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend.

Simple Thanks

Hello Monday, where does the time go?  There just isn't enough time to complete my weekend 'to do' list.  I had to do some shopping for my daughter, we had to get  a dress for her high school homecoming festivities and exchange some other items that I purchased when she wasn't with me.  I just can't shop for her anymore and she doesn't like to shop with me because I don't want to pay regular price for anything!  Oh well she will learn when she starts making and spending her own money.  Besides I always shop the clearance and sales when shopping for me.  Oh well on to today's post!

Today I am sharing a Thanksgiving card that I put together over the weekend, my plan is to make and  mail about 15 cards for Thanksgiving and Christmas.   I just used miscellaneous scraps of paper, a stamp, some leaves leftover from other projects and a few gems.   I am sharing today's card for the following three challenges:

CYCI#93 Fall  Anything Goes -  Can You Case It?
HIMCR#293 Freestyle - Hiding in my Craft Room
FFC#112 Anything Goes - Jo's Scrap Shack

Thank you for your visit, I hope you will come back soon.  Wishing you and yours a wonderful week as we kick off the holiday season.  I sure hope I get to work on a LO soon, I really don't consider myself a card maker.

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween, I have been trying to post all day but as life would have it I am just getting around to it!  We are ready for our trick or treaters as I had my daughter to make goodie bags.  Today I am sharing another one of the cards that I put together for the card making station at work.  I am also sharing it for the die cut or punches challenge over at Use Your Stuff.  I cut the bag using the Doodlecharms cricut cartridge and a Martha Stewart border punch for the fence.  The stamped sentiment is from the winter holidays Autumn Leaves stamp set and a few Jellies from Queen & Co and this card was done.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend and if you live in an area where you have to adjust your clocks don't forget!

Happy Friday

It's the weekend, so what's on your agenda; are you planning anything exciting.  I really don't have any plans just resting and relaxing since it seems like all of this going is catching up to this old body. I sure hope my family doesn't have different plans.  I am back today to share another card that I put together for the FB card angel group.  Looking at it now I'm not sure about that flower that I added as an  after thought.    The sketch inspiration for this card came from Sketch Frenzy Friday.

Take care and have wonderful weekend.

Wednesday Musings

This month is almost over which means the holidays are approaching and of course I'm not ready for the influx of additional to do items.  It's raining outside today but it is still relatively warm considering it is almost November.  October is a month that includes the observance of several awareness campaigns so today I am sharing a breast cancer awareness card  that I put together. Sketch inspiration for this  card came from sketch #292 from the  Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge blog.  I used paper from a Me and My Big Ideas Mambi scrapbooking kit,  one of the chipboard stickers as the sentiment along with some ribbon and gems; everything has been in my stash for a while.

Take care and thank you for your visit.

Happy Halloween

Time to go back to work tomorrow and my weekend to do list isn't done!  I spent a lot of time getting some card kits together for work.  I am suppose to staff a table for the kids on Friday so I decided to have them put together some cards.  My cricut really got a workout cutting pumpkins, cats, spiders, ghosts, etc.  Today I am sharing one of the cards that I put together as an example.  I cut the cat and grass using the CTMH Artiste cartridge, stamped the sentiment using an Autumn Leaves stamp.  I am  sharing this card for the Fall challenger over at Scraps of Color and the any holiday challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Take care and have a wonderful week!

Happy Fall

Wow, it has been a week since I last shared.  Here it is after midnight and I am racing to finish this post so I can share it for the Hiding in my Craft Room favorite cutting tool challenge.   One of my most favorite tools is my  cricut expression, I also used my cuttlebug for some embossing.  I love my expression and refuse to upgrade to one of the new models because I don't want to have to be tied to my computer or the internet.  I used the CTMH Artise cartridge for the leaves and the Mickey & Friends cartridge for the acorn.  The embossing folder is from Darice and I paid .99 for it at Tuesday Morning not too long ago.  The card sketch inspiration is from Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge #291.

Take care and enjoy your weekend!

Friday Musings

Today's card is one that I put together using more scraps from one  of the projects that I worked on at the retreat.  I still need to share that project once I embellish the cover.  The card sketch inspiration came from sketch #208 over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I am also sharing this card for this week's super scraps challenge over at  Hiding in my Craft Room and the ribbon challenge over at Use Your Stuff.

This week has gone by so fast and of course I have not been able to keep up.  It is almost 11:00 pm but I wanted to share before I go to bed for the night.  I am trying to stay awake as my daughter is out at a concert, her first without me or her father.  She is not without family supervision as my brother-in-law is her chaperone for the evening, DH is working and I wasn't up for it!

Wednesday Wanderings

It's Wednesday and I'm feeling like I can't catch up, my desk is running over with lots and lots to do and to be done!  I'm back today to share some of  the pages for my scripture journal that I worked on at the retreat; I need to work more diligently to get my journal caught up.  I just used miscellaneous scraps of papers and a few embellishments, the book is already busting at the seams!  If I decided to do another one I think I'll choose a different type of book.

Columbus Day

It's Monday and a holiday, I am really tired!  I had a wonderful weekend at a crop with a great group of scrappers.  I didn't get much done but I enjoyed the fellowship, didn't even bother to take a die cutting machine or not one sheet of 12x12 paper; it really didn't matter because the other ladies were willing to share.  So today I am sharing the two cards that I did manage to put together.  The double sided sheet of pattern paper came from Gwen, from North Corlina, all other pieces are scraps from my stash.  The ornament is a stcker and the candy was cut using the Christmas Cheer cricut cartridge.  I also used some twine and a borrowed border punch.

Take care and have a great week.

Feel Better Soon

It's Thursday and I leave for my weekend getaway tomorrow, dropped my car off to be serviced this morning so all I will need to do is load it first thing in the morning and leave once baby girl goes to school.  I have to decide what I am going to do so I may not pack much and just catch up on my scripture journal.  I'm back today to share another card that I created for the card group.  I used one of the stamps from  a Fiskars stamp set that had gone unused; I have way too many stamps, supplies, machines, etc.  that I've never used.  I did a little coloring, added some stickles, and a few other embellishments along with a sizzix die.  This card will go postal tomorrow to someone that is recovering from surgery.  Take care and enjoy your day.

Tuesday Musings

Hello, its Tuesday and I'm starting to feel a little anxiety.  I am not ready for this weekend's crop, there is just too much going on and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed and stretched.  I sure hope I can get everything in order within the next two days.  Today I am sharing a slightly different version of the card that I posted on Sunday.  I used more paper from the  Heidi Swapp Favorite Things 6x6 paper pad along with a Recollections flower and a smiley face sticker.  I think the stamp is one from a Hero Arts set, all done and ready to go postal.

Take care and have a Terrific Tuesday!

World Card Making Day

Yesterday was  another rainy day and World Card Making Day.  I must say I didn't do much of anything, I took my daughter to get her hair done, ran a few errands then came home took a long nap,, woke up and did some chores.  I did put together two more simple cards for the Facebook card group so I am sharing one of them today.  The pattern paper is from Basic Grey, used a punch, a flower from stash and it was done.  Now that I am looking at the card it looks like it could be a Christmas card, may have to rethink sending it until later!

It's Raining

I am so over this rain because all I want to do is sleep!  We still have a few more days of rain before it starts to clear but at least it looks like we will be spared hurricane Joaquin.  Today I am sharing another card that I put together for another child that was recently hospitalized.  I used more of my scraps of paper, the pattern paper is from the DCWV grade school paper pad, used the cricut cartridge Cuttin' Up for his name and the Create-a-Friend cartridge for the ribbon.  The card sketch inspiration came from challenge #238 over at Try Stampin on Tuesday.  Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Wednesday Musings

Hello and Happy Wednesday, it has been raining for the last few days so it has dampened everything! The one good thing is that my DH comes back into town today and we have back to school night tomorrow at my DD's school.  Today I am sharing a card that I put together for the FB card group, it is going postal to a 4 year old that was recently diagnosed and is being treated for leukemia.  I used scraps of paper from my stash along with a Sizzix notebook embossing folder.  I cut the superhero using the cricut create-a-friend cartridge and the crayon is from Recollections.

Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday.

Monday, September 28, 2015

Hello Monday

Today I am sharing another clean and simple card that I put together for the facebook card group.  It uses scraps of  paper from my stash and a Stampin' Up stamp and some enamel dots; the bowl was colored with colored pencils and the hearts with a sharpie. I am sharing this card for the Designer's Choice anything goes challenge #88 over at Can You Case it?

It seems like it has been forever since I last posted, although I was off work there was just too much to do.  That being said I didn't get my chores done, have my car serviced or play.  I did do some clearance shopping at ACMoore and Hobby Lobby which means I didn't use the coupons that I had planned to use for the items that I was looking to purchase.  I am going to a weekend crop soon so my intention was to get ready by having everything that I need when I go.  This is a real ambitious task for me!  Today I am sharing another clean and simple card that I put together for the facebook card group.  It uses paper scraps from my stash and a Stampin' Up stamp and some enamel dots; the bowl was colored with colored pencils and the hearts with a sharpie.

Totally Thursday

I am off today but as life would have it things haven't gone as planned.  It has been a rough week so full of tears, emotions and fears. A young state trooper was killed earlier this week, I grew up with his father; his father was my sister's first boyfriend, my husband's aunt passed in Ohio and we received news that another of our friends is seriously ill.  As hard as it has been I still believe and find comfort in God's  grace and mercy.  Today I am sharing a card that I put together for someone recently diagnosed with breast cancer, the sketch inspiration came from the Try Stampin on Tuesday blog.

First Love

Hello Monday and I am back today to share one of my favorite LOs.  Today I am sharing a LO that I started last week for the Friday Night Chat over at Scraps of Color but as life would have it I didn't get it finished in time.  So I am sharing it for the Freestyle challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.  I am also sharing it for the monthly stash challenge over at Scrap Our Stash.  The challenge is to create a LO using an item from your stash using the letters from the word LAYERS.  I used the following items from my stash (L) Love & label, (A) American Craft wood veneers, (Y) yellow, (E) Ephemera, (Eddie & Esperanza in the picture), (R) Recollections card stock and (S) sun.

I sure hope that when the time comes for my daughter to choose her mate she remembers the relationship she shares with her dad, she is a real daddy's girl!  My sister-in-law took these pictures last month while we were celebrating his birthday.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Sunday Musings

Hello, as I was sitting here trying to rest a bit, I decided to share. This may be a long post so I will share the card before I start my rambling.  I put this card together for our nephew Paul's 13th birthday.  I just used some scrap paper, a few gems and  a Studio G stamp from my stash.  The sketch inspiration from  challenge #14 over at Stamp Ink Paper.  I am also sharing this card for the color challenge over at Can You Case It?   I am really enjoying the inspiration from the blogs shared by one of my scrapping BFFs Felisa!

I feel like I need a nap but decided against it since there's work to be done.  We got a late start but we made it to church which I am glad because I didn't want to miss his message on love!  Afterwards we had to go shopping for some gym shorts for baby girl, not sure why we didn't look for them last week when we were out getting school supplies.  While we were out she reminded me that she had homework to finish so back home until we go back to church to volunteer to help make sandwiches for the homeless.  We still need to do our Costco shopping, which may have to wait until tomorrow since our neighbors have invited us over for a cookout later today.

Take care and have a great week, are you ready for Fall?  I am taking a few days off later in the week so I don't have to deal with the UCI Road World Championship crowds the whole week!

Saturday Musings

Hello and happy Saturday, I have been up for a few hours trying to finish up some cards that need to go postal today.  I can't keep up, I need to figure out a way to scale back!  I had planned to hang out online and chat with my SOC family but that didn't happen.  Looks like all my weekend plans will be altered!  Today I am sharing one of the cards that I put together this morning using sketch inspiration from Tuesday  Morning Sketches  along with paper from the Heidi Swapp Favorite Things 6x6 pad with a few felt flowers from the Paper Studio and a Stampendous stamp.

Take care.

A New Home

Hello Thursday, today I am sharing a card that I put together to send to my brother-in-law.  He recently purchased his first house so I wanted to send him some happy mail before all the bills started to roll in.  I told him that his house will be the party house since he has a pool!  I'm sharing this card for this week's Super Scraps challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.    I cut the house using the April Showers cricut cartridge, embossed the roof with a sizzix folder, punched the butterflies with a MS punch, added a  tree that was unused from another project, a little bling and the card was done!

Take care.

Tuesday Musings

My how time flies, my play time keeps getting interrupted by life!  I have been trying to post since Sunday.  My friend Felisa is always on the look out for simple scrapping ideas and she forwards them to me and a lot of time she lets me know if I win a challenge too!  Today I am sharing a card that I made over the weekend using one of the ideas that she sheared last week.  I know this idea isn't new and perhaps I have even used it before but it is just what I needed so I plan to mass produce it since I have way too many embossing folders sitting around not being used.  Now I just need to find the time to make it happen!

Take care and have a great day!  We are waking up to cooler temps, how's the weather in your area?

I Got This

Here it is Saturday morning and I am sneaking in some play time!  I had originally planned to go into the office to work since I was out two days this week but decided to stay home since it was raining and I knew DH would be sleeping in and baby girl had an appointment to see her sytlist.  So I decided to finish and share this LO, it uses pictures from two different days.  One when baby girl spent the morning shadowing another student in April and the other the final day of her week long new student orientation last month.  Like most of my projects it took many twists and turns before it was done, all the papers came from some scraps and single sheets that have been in my stash.  I cut the title with my SLICE (love that little machine), the book using the Locker Talk cricut cartridge and the doll using the Teen Scene cartridge.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Lady Falcons

It's Friday and I'm back to share the card that my daughter will find in her lunch box today.  I'll be switching to random mini notes starting next week.   I am sharing this card for the Favorite Team Colors challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.  The favorite team being my daughter's volleyball team. I got the falcon from the school's website, found some papers in my stash, punched the circles, hand wrote the sentiment, added some twine and a few sequins and the card was done!

Lots going on today with 9/11 events.  I can't wait until 5:00, I'm not feeling well today; I just took some sinus medicine because my head is hurting really bad.

Homework

I meant to post this before I left for home this morning but I ran out of time.  I am thankful for traveling mercies, I made it back in good time despite some heavy traffic and rain.  The service was nice and it was good seeing family that I don't often see.  On Tuesday my daughter came home with an assignment to cover a composition book for her Ecology class.  So this is what she/we did using a sheet of paper from the DCWV Homeroom Stack and letters cut with SLICE!
