Big Deal

Hello Sunday and start of a new week.  Today I am sharing a LO created using a selfie taken on my birthday. I used sketch inspiration from Sketch N Scrap #223, papers and embellishments from a Simple Stories Let’s Party 12 x 12 kit.  The flowers and pearls have been in my stash for a very long time, the quest to use my stash is so hard and I have found myself adding to it lately which is not good.  I am going to be working on more LOs this week.

Thank you for your visit, continue to stay safe and hurry back.

CIU #224 - Mascline Cards

Hello Friday and welcome to the weekend.  Today's project share is my design team project for the Cut it Up challenge blog.  The theme for challenge #224 is Masculine Cards and the sponsor is Taylored Expressions.

I wanted to do something a little outside of my normal and I had recently purchased the woodgrain  tree ring stencil so I went to their web side for some inspiration.  The only struggle for me is that I don't have very many ink colors just a few distress and oxide inks that I usually pick up on clearance.  I finally settled on vintage photo, I went to my Christmas dies and used one my unbranded tree dies and cut the bear using my SLICE machine (my all time favorite portable die cutting machine).  Finished the card by adding a few black gems and a stamped sentiment.  I really like the end result of the card, there are just a few minor changes that I will make  the next time I use the stencil.

Please visit the Cut it Up challenge blog, create and share your masculine themed project for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate from our sponsor.  The challenge starts today and ends Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at noon EST.

Thank you for your visit, continue to be safe and enjoy your weekend.

April Showers MemoryDex

Hello rainy Monday morning, doing a quick drive by post to share my monthly MemoryDex card.  I really like how this one came out as it is one of the few times the end result came close to the plan I had in my head!  I use a pattern piece of paper from a  DCWV paper pad along with other misc. scraps of paper from my stash (I really just need to toss  those scraps).  I cut the grass and tulips using the Artiste and Walk in my Garden cricut cartridges, used a SU punch for the umbrella, stamped, colored  and fuzzy cut the boots and the bee.  Added the bee and boots with dimensional tape and doodled the bee line with a sharpie, both were requirements elements for the challenge.  I'm sharing this for the Anything Goes challenge #138 over at Cardz TV.

Thank you for your visit, continue to be safe and hurry back again soon!

Window Card

Hello Tuesday, I am doing a quick drive by post to share another Mother’s Day card.  I created this belly band window card after watching a YT video, of course I went off on my own path but I like the end result. I used some HL heavyweight card stock for the base and some DCWV pattern paper  for the band. I used  Sizzix dies for the circle and flower and a Darice die for the greenery.  This was my first time using the Darice die which was gifted to me years ago by one of my scrapping’ besties. I am sharing this card for the April Window themed card challenge over at Die Cut Divas and the Anything Goes challenge #138 over at Cardz TV.

Sunshine and Laughter

Hello and happy Tuesday, more nice weather in today's forecast.  Today's card share uses sketch inspiration from Sketch N Scrap card sketch #191 and more papers from the Recollections Blue Blooms 6x6 paper pad., the pattern papers made the card so it really wasn't necessary to add too much else.  I could have centered the sentiment but since I didn't fix it before I can't worry about it now!  I cut the flower using a Sizzix die, used some Recollections rose gold strips of paper and a Hero Arts stamp for the sentiment and the card was done!

Thank you for your visit, take care and hurry back soon.

Paper Pad Challenge

Hello Thursday, more rain in today’s forecast.  I'm back today to share a challenge completed by some of the Cut it Up challenge blog design team members.  We each chose a 6x6 paper pad and completed as many projects as possible, I still have some scraps left so I might be able to do about two more signature clean and simple cards.  I created 25 cards that included two mini slim line cards, and 3 baskets using the My Mind's Eye Breeze 6x6 paper pad which was a double sided pattern paper pad.  The pad was gifted to me some years ago by one of my scrapping besties.  In addition to the paper pad I used lots of stuff from my stash and even  some things for the first time. I had a hard time getting a good picture but a lot of time has been spent on this project so it’s time to move on!

Now that you've seen my projects, you should visit the other designers to see more great projects using 6x6 paper pads.

Thank you for your visit, stay safe and hurry back soon!
