Let's Celebrate

It has been a while since I posted and a lot has happened.  I really haven't had any time to craft which has been hard especially since I am really behind with the Summertime and Scrappin' is Easy workshop challenges.  I literally got up this morning and decided I was going to do something before we got on the road to North Carolina.  Today's simple card was inspired by sketch #251 from Clean & Simple Stamping.  I am also sharing it for week #30 blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  The challenge was to create a project using black and white with one additional color.  So this card is what I put together this morning using only scraps!

Together

Hello Sunday and I'm back today with another LO from the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy challenge.  The LO uses pictures of my father and his siblings at a recent family reunion, all of his living siblings attended with the exception of one brother.  I used paper from an old CTMH paper pack, distressed the edges on the patten paper (which isn't visible in the picture) and cut a slit in the top of the base.  The flowers and bling are from Recollections, the blinged title  and other stickers are from Me & My Big Ideas.  All items used came from my stash!  Have a great week, sure hope I can keep up!

July 4th

Today's post is a LO using pictures from our 4th of July holiday.  We went to the museum to see a pop art exhibit and listen to a jazz band and afterwards we just happen to catch the end of the fireworks from a gas station parking lot!  The sketch and inspiration is from day 3 of the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy Challenge hosted by Tiare over at iClassygirl.  I used a kraft base along with misc. pattern papers,  foam star stickers, and chipboard.

I am also sharing this LO over at Scrap Our Stash for their stash challenge #5 and the monthly challenge over at Mema's Crafts.  Have a great weekend, be safe and try to stay cool.

Wednesday Wanderings

Its Wednesday, mid July and I'm here with another edition of Wednesday Wanderings. I don' t know where the time has gone. Lots going on as usual and of course my mind is racing as I type this post! I forgot that I have a training class this morning and I need to decide how I'm going to get there, its too hot to walk, no parking if I drive and the shuttle maze is another story.

Today I am sharing a card that I started last night and finished this morning using sketch #249 from Clean & Simple Stamping.   I used paper from the Provocraft 6x12 celebrations stack along with one of my favorite border punches from EK Success. I used my SLICE to cut the flower and sentiment tag, the button came in a bag from the daily scrapbook deals peachycheap website.

We are headed to a B.B. King concert this evening, its outside so I hope the weather cooperates. This means I won't have time to work on today's assignment for the SASIE challenge unless by some small miracle I can pull it off when I get home tonight. I just don't know why I can't bring myself to get in the habit of making page kits!

Thank you for stopping by, have a great day and try to stay cool!

SASIE Day 1

Yesterday was the first day  of Tiare's Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy Challenge; I am not sure I'll be able to keep up  but I did manage to finish the first challenge.  I seem to have missed the before you get started assigment  since I didn't I'll just do what I can when I can.  The focus of this LO was using paper strips which should have been quite easy for me since I am such a hoarder of paper scraps!  The cardstock base and some of the strips were part of a CTMH paper pack that I can't seem to finish using!  The LO uses pictures taken on our visit to spend time with my dad for Father's Day.

Happy Birthday 2 U

Hello Sunday, still not feeling up to speed but I'm pressing on; I guess old age is catching up to me! I've spent most of the day lounging around, going through my paper scraps and sorting through pictures. Today I'm sharing a birthday card that I created using sketch #248 from Clean & Simple Stamping. The paper scraps came from the MME Moments paper pad, the pearl embellishments from the Michaels dollar spot and the sentiment stamps from a Stampendous clear stamp set.

Happy 12th

I've been feeling a little under the weather but I'm still pushing myself  to work and move.  Today's LO uses pictures from out daughter's 12th birthday celebration earlier this year.  We invited three of her friends to join us at Dave and Buster's for an afternoon of fun.  She's growing up and each year it gets more challenging and expensive deciding how to celebrate!  The LO uses iClassygirl's  July Pajama Party sketch.  I tried to step up my game a little by punching the butterflies, adding glimmer mist, sitckles and pearls! The paper is some that I've had in my stash a while along with the other items used some of which I received as a RAK.  Have a great weekend!

Warmest Wishes

Hello and Happy Monday,  I hope you had a good holidy weekend.  We spent alot of time at home not doing much of anything.  We did go to the museum for some live entertainment and dinner.  Today I'm sharing a card using sketch #180 from Operation Write Home.  I used the Echo Park This and That Charming 6x6 paper pad, the stamp is from Stampin' Up and the key is Tim Holtz.  I think it looks better in person, the lighing seems off in the picture.  The card will go postal tomorrow to our nephew as a belated birthday greeting.  Have a great week!

Anniversary Card

Its Friday and I'm back today to share another card that I made, two days in a row!  I'm happy to report that I used both my silhoutte cameo and cricut expression this week!  Today's card is another signature simple card that I created using the Best of 2009 cricut cartridge; the cuts were originally on the Sweetheart cartridge.  I need to explore using this cut  more since I didn't use all of the layers.  I also used the Love's in the Air cuttlebug folder for the embossing along with a few pearl embellishments.  I sure hope the recepient likes it!

A Happy Hello

Happy Independence Day, I hope you have a great day celebrating with family and friends.  We don't have any plans so I hope some R&R is in order.  It has been another busy week so I got up at my usual time for a little playtime this morning.  I am planning to go into work in little while just for a few hours and then I'll take tomorrow off.  Since today is the 4th of July I decided to make a card, which is a first for me.  I used this week's free svg file from Designs on Cloud 9.  I really like the little patriotic bear and how it came together!

I'm doing an extra happy dance because I'm sharing this card for three different challenges.  I'm sharing it for two different challenges over at Scraps of Color; the blog challenge for week #28 is to use red, white and blue in your project.  Kelli from A Scrap of This and That is also hosting a challenge in the SVG friends group to encourage us to play with our toys to cut a free svg file.  Lastly, I'm also sharing this card for the monthly challenge over at Mema's Crafts where the challenge is to use red, white and blue in our projects too.

Thanks for stopping by and I'm wishing you a happy and blessed holiday and weekend.
