Tuesday Musings

Hello and Happy Tuesday, I am back today to share another holiday card that is going postal today!  I  am hoping that it arrives by Friday.  The inspiration for this card came from a design team member's post that was shared over at Scraps of Color, she posted that the sketch she used came was sketch #46 from Deconstructed Sketch.  I am all about clean and simple sketches so I decided to use it right away since I was making 4th of July cards; I only made three!  As previously shared I used papers from Recollections and the Paper Stack along with a few gems and stars; the sentiment is from the Summer Celebrations cricut cartridge.

I'm sharing this card for the anything goes challenge posted over at Use Your Stuff, they will have this challenge posted throughout the summer so you can participate/share too!

Take care and make it a great day!

Yummy

Yesterday I shared that I had participated in the Friday Night Chat Challenges over at Scraps of Color, today I am sharing the LO that I created.  We were given a sketch prompt, instructions to include four pictures, a title and journaling and anything else we wanted to include.

Today's LO uses pictures taken of our daughter as we were celebrating her first birthday.  This is before we started having the masses join us for her celebrations!  This was her first experience eating cake with frosting.  My son was away in college so it was just her dad and I there to share this experience and she still has and uses that bowl today!

I used the cricut cartridges Simply Charmed and Something to Celebrate to cut the title and the slice of cake.  The washi tape, stickers, gems and papers that have been in my stash forever.

Take care and have a great week.

Lazy Day

Saturday is almost over but I decided to still post this card that I just finished.  I was up late last night into this morning because I hung out online over at Scraps of Color chatting and working on challenges.  So today I was sleepy and didn't feel like doing much of anything since it was a cloudy, rainy and stormy day.

Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by challenge #403 over at Mojo Monday.  I used papers from Recollections and Paper Studio, I cut the sentiment  and the circle with the SLICE.  The little star gems have been in my stash forever!  I am also sharing this card for the any holiday challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room and the red, white and blue challenge over at Scraps of Color.

Take care and enjoy!

Friday Musings

Today's card has a wild and crazy story behind it, this is the short version!

While going through my inbox yesterday I saw a card on the Two Paper Divas blog using the CAS(E) this sketch #128 and I immediately decided I wanted to make a card using it.  What started out being a simple task turned into a cutting nightmare; I'm wondering if I need another trimmer.  I cut the card, stamped my sentiment and decided on my embellishments all before I came into the office.  Well long story short I messed up my cuts with the crazy trimmer that I keep in my office found some more paper and messed it up too.  All I was suppose to do once I got into the office was to add adhesive, embellish, snap the picture, and post; that is not what happened!  So I finally found some more paper and what happened the embellishments that I bought in for the other paper didn't work so I had to search through my stash at work for something to use, I think I need to add to my stash that I keep at work!  Enough said, I think its pretty and it's going postal to someone recuperating from surgery!

Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Moving On

Two weeks ago today we had an awesome time celebrating my daughter and her classmates as they said goodbye to Middle School and hello to High School.  Today's LO marks the end of that journey as this was the final act!  This is also the last LO that I will be sharing from her Middle School album.  I used as many pictures as I could even though some of her guest left before we started taking pictures.  We were joined by family and friends from near and far, her brother surprised her and came from Pittsburgh.  The only person missing was my dear sister Fay who was looking down from heaven cheering on her niece.

Because I used so many pictures I didn't have a lot of room for embellishments.  I used paper from the DCWV Homeroom stack along with a few Recollections stickers and other misc. embellishments.  I cut the title using my Cameo and my Expression.  I don't think the picture does the LO justice, the lighting and the paper choice made it hard to get a good picture.

Take care and have a grand day.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!  I am blessed and fortunate that I still have my father, my first hero and prince. I am so thankful for my father and the foundation that he set for us.  Today's project is a LO of my dad that I may or may not have shared before but since I shared it on FB this morning I decided to share it here too.  I went home to attend church with my dad this morning, it was a very good service and since the male chorus sings on third Sunday I got to here him sing a solo, I couldn't get a very good picture; I only had my phone so I need to be better prepared next time so I can do a more current LO.

Middle School Review

Hello and Happy Saturday, what's on your agenda for the weekend anything exciting?  I don't have too much going on except work and  Father's Day.  I have just one more LO to finish and I will be done with my daughter's middle school album, I'm glad because it has started to wear on me.  Today I'm sharing one of the last LOs that I completed, it is out of order because it is essentially the last LO of the book.  I used misc. pictures from throughout the last three school years, nothing too special just some random pictures.  I used thickers for the title, stickers, metal embellishments, paper from the Homeroom paper stack and some cuts from the Silhouette store.

Take care and have a great weekend!

Class T-Shirt

Hello Thursday, I'm back today with another LO from my daughter's school album, only a few more things to do and the Middle School album will be done!  Today's LO uses pictures showcasing the 8th grade class t-shirt, they wore the shirts on the Washington, DC field trip (which reminds me I need to see if anyone has any pictures from the trip).  I used paper from the DCWV Homeroom stack, cut the t-shirts using the Formal Occasion cricut cartridge and Locker Talk for the pennant.  I used the Storefront and Mickey Font cartridges for the title, added a few alpha stickers and sequins and this LO was done!

Yeah, one day away from the weekend, take card and have a wonderful day.

Wednesday Wanderings

Here's to another  Wednesday  Wanderings post, as I am a bit tired from yesterday's activities.  Our daughter had to have a dental procedure and it tired me and her dad out, mostly me though.  I am up now about to run in my office for a few hours and then back home and I will have one of her friends come sit with her this afternoon.  Today's card is another Father's Day card that I put together yesterday using the Suit stamp set from V's Sweet Ideas.  The papers used were  just scraps from my stash, I colored the stamp with my Spectrum noir markers.  I just really can't get into coloring so you won't see a lot it on my projects!

Take care and have a great day.

Watch Card

Hello and Happy Monday, glad to be here for another day but feeling like the weekend goes by way too fast!

I did manage to play some so I have a few posts lined up for this week once I put the finishing touches on them.  Today I am sharing a watch card that I made, the inspiration for this card came from Father's Day Watch Card, as stated there are certainly other versions but this is the video that I watched.  She did two different variations in the video but I only had items in my stash for one of them.  The papers that I used are scraps from a 6x6 school themed  paper pad (don't have the name handy right now).  I cut the clock/watch face from a piece of card stock from an old DCWV paper stack called HOME and used a piece of brown ribbon for the band.  The stamped sentiment is from V's Sweet Ideas, I ordered the Suit Up stamp set and it arrived in the mail on Saturday so I used it for this card.

I am sharing today's card for the June challenge over at Mema's Crafts, I was so sorry to read that this would be her final challenge but her blog will remain open.  I am also sharing it for Challenge #203 - Super Scraps Saturday over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

School Dance

Hello Sunday, today I am sharing another LO from my daughter's school album.  Last Wednesday the  school hosted their 8th grade dance (Mardi Gras themed).  I didn't get to go inside the school as I was heading to a meeting.  Originally my daughter said that she did not want to go to the dance so when we were dress shopping for the moving on ceremony we only purchased one dress (turns out she didn't wear that one on Thursday either). So last weekend we had to go dress shopping again.  We mother's do what we have to do so I pulled it off.

The glittered base is from Colorbok, the washi tape is some that I ordered from Pick Your Plum, I use some brads to help secure it, a few gems, the mask is a sticker, the title and other embellishments are  cuts from the Formal Occasion cricut cartridge.  I think I will add the date and some journaling.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Happy Birthday Sharon

Today I am sharing a card that I made for one of my friends that I met some years ago on the Cricut message board.  Happy Birthday Sharon, sorry I have to miss your celebration so I am sharing your card on my blog today.  I was planning to bring it to the party but as life would have it I can't attend.

I am sharing this card for the Use Your Stuff sentiment challenge and the  Scraps of Color embossing challenge.  When making this card I used a few items from my stash for the first time, the cuttlebug folder (Anna Griffin Poppy) and the lacey square  Spellbinders Nestabilities  dies.  I got both items from Michaels for a  good clearance price.  The sentiment was cut with my cameo, the flower is from Recollections and a few gems and the card was done!

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Hello Thursday

Today I wasn't going to post because I have so much going on but since I needed some downtime I decided to share.  I am most excited today because my daughter will have lots of family and friends supporting her this evening when she joins her other classmates marking the end of their middle school years.  It hasn't been easy but God's grace and mercy has brought us through the last three years.

Today's LO uses her Spring school pictures and I really used a 'hodge podge' of  items to complete it. The paper is from Creative Imaginations, picked it up on clearance a long time ago from ACMoore.  I have way too much loose paper that I purchased not knowing when I would use it!  The study diva stamp is from Stampology and the 8th grade title is a cut file from the silhouette store.  The stars and gems are from Recollections and the little wood veneer camera is from Ameican Crafts.

Take care, thank you for your visit; the middle school LOs will be done soon!

Hello Middle School

This is our daughter's last week of middle school and today I am sharing the first page of her album which I finished on yesterday.   I still need to figure out the date so that I can include it; it has been three years!  The LO uses pictures taken the day she went to shadow another student before she would attend the school the next fall.    This is a bittersweet time for all of us, feelings and emotions running wild since she will be going to high school in the fall!

I am sharing this  LO for this month's word challenge #27 over at Scrap Our Stash.  The challenge is to create a LO using items from your stash for each letter in the word B-R-A-D-S.  I used the following items from my stash:

B - brown card stock, blue pattern paper
R - rhinestones, ribbon
A - arrows, American Crafts thickers
D - die cut,  distress ink (edges of the base)
S - stars, sticker

Thank you for your visit and I hope you will return soon.  Wishing you and yours a wonderful week!

Come and Play

Today I am sharing another LO from my daughter's middle school album and I am down to needing to complete just one more LO and the book will be current through this week.  This is a big deal for me as I have been so emotional lately but I am believing that God will see me through these times.

The LO uses pictures taken during the 8th annual Come & Play event where my daughter played along with the Richmond Symphony.  This was her third year playing and probably her last, I think she has kicked her clarinet to the curb!  When I started on this LO I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do since I only had two pictures.  I used some paper that I had picked up on clearance from ACMoore.  I just added some random embellishments that included washi tape, rub-ons, stickers and I cut the clarinet using my SLICE (love that little machine) and the music stand from the Quarter Note cricut cartridge.  This makes the 25th completed LO for this year!

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hello Summer

Hello Friday, I am back today to share a card that I put together for the Summer blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  I originally wanted to do a LO but I wasn't pleased with the beach pictures that I had taken last year so I wasn't motivated to scrap them.  I used my cameo for the cuts and scraps of paper from my stash and the card was done.  I like it and it will make a nice card to send an unexpected greeting to someone once all this rain clears.  I am also sharing this card for challenge #201 Freestyle over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Take care and have a good weekend!  Let's hope for some dry weather next week since there will be lots of outside activities.

Thursday Musings

Wow, it is Thursday already and this is my first time posting this week.  Because we're in the final stretch and this is my daughter's final year at her current school there is still lots to do before the last day of school next Friday.  She took her last SOL on Tuesday so she is all done with testing.  The last week will include an 8th grade cook-out on the school's front lawn, a field trip to Washington, DC, a dance and then finally the moving on ceremony on Thursday.   I have just two more LOs and I will be current with her school book because I am planning to share it next week even though the final week's activities won't be included.

Today's card is one that was inspired by a card  shared on Lil Artsy Woman, Lois is an awesome crafter and I look forward to her daily post.  I just used scraps of paper from my stash, two punches and a stamp that I picked up on a recent trip to Hobby Lobby.  The card sketch is actually SC542 from Splitcoast Stampers but I saw it on Lois' blog.

Thank you for your visit and I hope you will return soon.
