Jamestown

I created this LO for my DD's 4th grade school album. The school's 4th graders went to Jamestown for a Fall fieldrip as part of their Virginia Studies (Social Studies) class. I used the Cursive 101 cartridge for the first time for the globe; I'm on a roll using some of my cartridges for the first time!

V-Card #3

This is the third card from our weekend card challenges for this month over on Scraps of Color. The challenges this week was to create a card using the colors pink and silver only. I had some problems with this since I don't have my paper stash readily available. I used the Opposites Attract cartridge for the first time as well as one of my MS border punches.

V-Card #2

This is my second card for the valentine card challenge over at Scraps of Color. This week's challenge was to create a card using non-tradional colors (no red, pink, purple or black). I used some paper that I picked up in Hobby Lobby, a fiskars border punch and a stamp that I got from the Target $1 zone a few years ago.

V-Card #1

I finally got to do a little scrappin' not much but just a little! I've been working on a LO of my DD's most recent dance routine and I finished this card last night. This is the first in several for a weekend card challenge over on Scraps of Color. The challenge was to use red, white, and black paper only and at least one heart. I cut the double heart from the wedding cricut cartridge and then applied some rub-ons and added glitter.

Stylish Blogger Award

I must first thank Tonya from Riley's Creations as she offered me this award sometime ago when time just didn't permit me to pick it up. I am thankful for all blog awards.

Earlier today, Karen over at Still Young and Croppin' was kind enough to present me with a blog award again. As you can see in my previous two posts I am currently unable to scrap as life has dealt me a hand that requires that my energy be directed to being a caregiver for my DH.

This is a pay-it-forward style award. Here are the rules:

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this.
2. Share 8 things about yourself
3. Pay it forward to 8 bloggers that you have recently discovered
4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their awards.

So here are 8 things about myself:
1. I have two children and they are 17 years apart in age.
2. I am the proud owner of a kindle and a new DSLR camera.
3. I have currently taken up residence with my in-laws.
4. My favorite colors are red, purple and brown.
5. I have alot of unfinished scrappin' projects.
6. I buy and collect more than I scrap.
7. I recently became a caregiver to DH while he recuperates from an accident.
8. I am an early riser.

Here are the 8 bloggers I would like to share this award with (and it was so very hard to choose only eight):

I have more than 8 bloggers that I'd like to share this award with so I'm offering it to all my blogger friends collectively and not individually. So if you like it just pick it up and enjoy!

Happy New Year

Wishing you and yours a healthy and happy 2011.

This is only the second day of the year but I'm off and running at full speed as I've got lots to do! DH came home from the hospital on Friday so that was a blessing having our family back together as the new year came in (even though DH and I both were asleep) when the clock struck 12! I have to sit down long enough today today to map out our schedule since school starts back tomorrow for DD, I have to go to work and I have to coordinate DH's care during my absence. Please continue to pray for our family during this next phase of our journey.

I do hope that someday I'll have the time to scrap again as I'm still taking pictures almost everyday! Besides I got a new camera for Christmas and I hope to enroll in a class at some point to learn how to use it. I got my first DSLR which is a big deal since I don't think I've mastered using point and shoot camears yet!
