International Women's Day

Hello and Happy International Women's Day!  I have been trying to post all week but as life would have it I haven't had time.  Today I am sharing a card that I put together using sketch inspiration from  Fall to Layout #59 Take 2 over at Clean & Simple Stamping.  I used paper from the Simple Stories Reset Girl 6x6 paper pad along with a cut from the Forever Young Cricut cartridge.  I am sharing this card for the Natioanl Dress Day challenge #344 over at Shopping Our Stash and Anything Goes #37 over at Cardz TV.  Today also happens to be my MIL's 75th Birthday and we are going out tonight so maybe I will have some pics to scrap!  Thank you for your visit and I do hope you will return soon.

Friday Musings

It's still raining here, the forecast calls for some relief from the rain tomorrow and Sunday.  I'm looking forward to the rain ending as I have two events tomorrow and I don't want to have to drag an umbrella and I am wearing sandals!  Today I am sharing my Tea Time LO that I've been working on for several months,   My daughter and I attended a mother/daughter Mother's Day tea in May sponsored by a girl's mentoring group at a church.  We enjoyed it so much that my daughter decided to join the mentoring group, it is called God's Nia and she even ran and was elected Vice-President of the group.  I used the Forever Young, Songbird and Suburbia cricut cartridges, some Smooch accent ink and AC wood veneer embellishments.  The pattern paper came from The TradeWinds paper stack from DCWV.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend.

Happy Birthday Monica

Today is my sister-in-laws's birthday so I am sharing the card that I made for her.  All items used have been in my stash for some time.  I don't remember when I made that cut using the Forever Young cricut cartridge but it has finally found its way to a project, I cut the oval with a Spellbinder die, added some Paper Studio flowers and a stamped sentiment and the card was done!  I'm sure she probably won't receive it in today's mail but it is the thought that counts.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you'll come back tomorrow as I'll be sharing another completed LO!

Special Moments

Today's LO is one that has taken many twists and turns and I am happy to report the use of more of my stash.  I used paper from a Crate Paper paper pad that I picked up fromTuesday Morning earlier this summer.  I  used Glimmer Mist on the base for some added color, cut the model with the Forever Young cricut cartridge; the embellishments and Thickers have been in my stash forever with the exception of the camera sticker which is Recollections.

I am happy to report that I am able to share this LO for three different challenges.  The sketch inspiration is from Tiare's Desk to Done.   In honor of  both  National Sisters Day and  National Girlfriends Day the blog challenge for week #33 and the monthly creative challenge  over  at Scraps of Color  is to create a project celebrating  these relationships.  I used pictures taken of my recent trip to Raleigh, North Carolina where I met SOC family members for the first time!

Got Braces! Got Glasses!

Hello and Happy Friday, I am not necessarily doing the weekend happy dance but I'm hoping for a little down time.  Today's LO is one that I started last night and finished just this morning for the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy workshop challenge.  As I stated in my last post I am so far behind that I need several days of nothing but scrappin' to catch up!  It doesn't help that I'm still trying to squeeze some other challenges into the mix too!  So today's LO uses pictures taken of our daughter the day she received her braces and glasses both on the same day.  She has a new look for her return to school but she's still smiles radiantly and looks beautiful.  I am still scrappin' my stash using items that I've had for quite some time.  I used blinged lettering for the word 'GOT' but they don't show very well in the picture.  I even used my cricut to cut the sunglasses as a stand-in for glasses!  Thank you for stoppin' by, hope you have blessed weekend.

Fabulous

Today I'm sharing a LO that I completed for the ANYtime, ANYwhere Scrapbook Experience that I'm partiicpating in over at Scraps of Color. This is week 5 LO which took me a while to complete just because of life situations. The pictures used in the LO is of me and two of my friends at a recent function hosted by DH's fraternity and the Deltas. It was a fun night of food, fellowship and fun; I spent most of the night at the blackjack table.

Hattitude

Hattitude
DD recently went to the theatre to see the play CROWNS. It's a play about hats, DD was invited to the play by her aunt. They went to dinner and then to the play with a group from my SIL's church.

Mother's Day
I'm still trying to use my scraps, I made this card on NSD while at a crop. The fiber used for the dress was courtesy of Sharon and the dress idea/design provided by Shayla.

Forever Young

Photobucket
I've been trying to use my scraps to make cards and it just doesn't seem like the scrap paper is moving so I guess I need to step up my cardmaking game. I made these cards using a few cuts from the cricut Forever Young cartridge which is this week's posted challenge over at Platinum Scraps.
