Sail Away Party

Today I'm sharing pictures of us during the sail away party on the cruise ship. We sailed out of Galveston, Texas on the Mariner of the Seas. We purchased the shirts and had them embroideried with "Sistas Scrap Too" with our cricut messageboard name and cruise 2012. Stay tuned tomorrow and I will share some of the projects we made. If you'd like to see additional cruise pictures and a more detailed commentary you should visit Cruising with the Cricut.

Sistas Scrap Too Christmas & Countdown to the New Year Blog Hop

Christmas is coming and so is the New Year! To get you in the spirit of the season, the divas of SST have come together for a Christmas and Countdown to the New Year blog hop! There are 17 blogs in the hop, so make sure you use the links below this post to hop to all of the participating blogs. No worries if you miss one, you can always go back! These 17 divas have a lot in store for you. From exquisite creations to offers of blog candy, you will enjoy hopping your way to all of the blogs involved! Don't forget to leave some blog love for the creators -- they love getting feedback on their designs!

Christmas Gift Bags
I made these simple holiday gift bags using plain brown lunch bags. Inspiration for this project was found on www.okieladybugsscrapnmore.blogspot.com, she also included a video tutorial. I just used miscellaneous sheets of paper, paper scraps, along with other embellishments. Since I used pattern paper I decided not to use a lot of other embellishments. I did use ribbon, bling, buttons, stickles, floss and the cuttlebug on one of the bags along with punches for the handle holes. This is a quick and economical ways to personalize your gift bags not just for Christmas but anytime!

Gift Tag
My original intent was to make individual gift tags for the bags but I decided instead to just create one large holiday gift tag. I cut the tag using TBBM using the cricut and acetate (packaging from cricut cartridges). I colored the tag with alcohol ink and embellished it and added some ribbon.

Forever Young

Photobucket
I've been trying to use my scraps to make cards and it just doesn't seem like the scrap paper is moving so I guess I need to step up my cardmaking game. I made these cards using a few cuts from the cricut Forever Young cartridge which is this week's posted challenge over at Platinum Scraps.

Happy Birthday Dr. King

Photobucket
Celebrating and honoring Dr. Marting Luther King! This LO was completed as one of the monthly challenges over at SistasScrapToo. All the completed LOs won't be posted on the blog until the end of the month but I wanted to post mine here today since tomorrow is his birthday. You'll be amazed at the other LOs once they're posted.

Sista Challenges

Nubian Challenge
This card is a result of a challenge given to me by fellow scrappin' sista NubianCrafterNC from the cricut board. It involved using common household bleach as the stamp pad, and in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness it had to include pink. I will probably use this technique again. October was a busy month over at the
SistasScrapToo blog and I was able to complete all of the challenges. I'm so glad that I was able to complete the challenges because it helps me with my scrappin' and offers the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and learn some new techniques.

Who Am I

ME
This is a LO I completed for the sistascraptoo challenge blog. It is entitled "Who AM I." I used pictures taken the last few months that I used on LOs for our sista birthday swap exchange. I finally completed a LO that only included pictures of me, I rarely scrap pictures of me since I'm always taking the pictures!
