CIU #325 - Happy Birthday

Hello Friday, let the weekend begin! Today’s project share is my design team project for the Cut it Up challenge blog.  The theme for challenge #325 is Happy Birthday.

I am trying to use more scraps and finish off some 6x6 paper pads so for this card I used papers from the My Mind's Eye Blink of an Eye pad.  I used several dies to cut the stars, stamped the sentiment and cut the 2U with a Sizzix die set; added a few gems and this card was done!

I hope you will visit the Cut it Up challenge blog for more inspiration, create and share you birthday themed project using a die.  The challenge starts today and ends Monday, March 17, 2025 at noon PST

Thank you for your visit, continue to be safe and don't forget to change your clocks if you live in a time zone that changes.  Hurry back again soon.

Belated Birthday

Hello and happy Tuesday, just dropping in to do a quick drive by post sharing a belated birthday card.  My cousin's birthday was last Wednesday and as life would have it I didn't get her card in the mail in time so I created this one for her.  I used leftover papers from a previous project, a Sizzix tag die set,  Recollections ribbon and enamel heart and an unbranded stamp and die set for the sentiment. I am sharing this card for the anything goes challenge #150 over at Cardz TV.

Thank you for your visit, continue to be safe and come back soon!

Big Deal

Hello Sunday and start of a new week.  Today I am sharing a LO created using a selfie taken on my birthday. I used sketch inspiration from Sketch N Scrap #223, papers and embellishments from a Simple Stories Let’s Party 12 x 12 kit.  The flowers and pearls have been in my stash for a very long time, the quest to use my stash is so hard and I have found myself adding to it lately which is not good.  I am going to be working on more LOs this week.

Thank you for your visit, continue to stay safe and hurry back.

Happy Birthday Cheryl

Hello Sunday, the start of a new week and a beautiful Spring day.  I am back today sharing a birthday card that I made for one of my crafty friends Cheryl, she probably won't receive it until Monday since I didn't get it in the mail until Friday.  I'm sure she won't mind, its the thought that counts!  I used sketch #215 from CAS(E) for inspiration, the birds and swirls cuttlebug folder and a Prima flower.   I cut the stem using my SLICE machine.  I am slowing in my challenge, might need to take some time away from creating.  Thank you for your visit, wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Explosion Box

Hello and happy Tuesday, nice temps again today but not as warm.  Today I am sharing the explosion box birthday card that I made for my daughter's 16th birthday.  I wasn't able to get really good pictures of the inside so I am just sharing the inspiration layer and the top.  I used some paper that had been in my stash for a while along with misc. stamps and embellishments.  I am sharing this card for the Anything Goes Designer Challege #3 over at Cardz TV.  Thank you for your visit, hope you have a wonderful day doing whatever brings joy to your heart.

Best Wishes

Hello and happy first Wednesday of 2017, I meant to share yesterday but as life would have it I didn't get a chance to post.  So today I am sharing a totally different project from the one that I had plan to share yesterday.  I need several birthday cards for this month so last night I decided to start making them, I started out with a sketch but ventured in another direction.  The cake is a sizzix stamp/die from Stephanie  Barnard (I think) and the sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp.   I used paper from the Echo Park Celebrations 6x6 pad  that I picked up from TM when one of my crafty friends spoke about its usefulness!   I am sharing this card for this week's Freestyle challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.  Take care and I hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday!

Happy Birthday Danita

Hello and happy Thursday,  I am back today to share a birthday card for one of my scrappin' besties! I was in the middle of making holiday cards when I realized I hadn't made her card so I just pulled some papers from my stash and created this card for her and in my haste to take the picture so I could get it in the mail it came out a little blurry.  I think the paper is from a from a Momenta 6x6 paper pad, a Recollections flourish and the sentiment and foliage are TH dies.  I always feel intimidated when I have to make her a card because her cards are always so beautiful; oh well such is life!    I'm sharing this card for the Anything Goes challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Take care and have a wonderful Thursday.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl

Today our daughter is celebrating her birthday, this is the sign I made for her, this what she'll see when she goes into her bathroom this morning.  I used the Creats-a-Critter and Mickey font cartridges, glittered stickers for the number and punches for the hearts and stars.  We have a busy day planned with family and friends today and tomorrow.  Take care and enjoy your weekend!

Birthday Sleepover

Hello and Happy Wednesday, I'm back today to share the LO that I finally finished using pictures from our DD's sleepover for her birthday this year!  I scrapped some of the other pictures in pocket sleeves.  We had the party at my in-laws since they have more square footage than we have at our house.  The girls had lots of fun, especially since they had never been in a house with an elevator. My daughter really like that I used one of her 4 year old pictures for the cake and I got lots of cool points for the thank you goody bags too.  I used some Martha Stewart cardstock for the base and pattern paper from an ATD paper pad.  Thickers for the title, stickers from Recollections, The Paper Studio and Soft Spoken.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Wednesday!

Yummy

Yesterday I shared that I had participated in the Friday Night Chat Challenges over at Scraps of Color, today I am sharing the LO that I created.  We were given a sketch prompt, instructions to include four pictures, a title and journaling and anything else we wanted to include.

Today's LO uses pictures taken of our daughter as we were celebrating her first birthday.  This is before we started having the masses join us for her celebrations!  This was her first experience eating cake with frosting.  My son was away in college so it was just her dad and I there to share this experience and she still has and uses that bowl today!

I used the cricut cartridges Simply Charmed and Something to Celebrate to cut the title and the slice of cake.  The washi tape, stickers, gems and papers that have been in my stash forever.

Take care and have a great week.

She's Growing Up

My baby girl has grown up way too fast, she is headed to high school next year.   I think we all are starting to feel some anxiety so I am feeling the urgency to get her pictures scrapped.  I need to get more pictures of her with her grandfather, my FIL who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, please pray for our family.  I need to spend more time with my parents too as time is so precious and it waits on no one.

Today I am sharing a LO using pictures taken of my daughter the morning of her birthday on February 6 as we were heading to the car.  The inspiration for this LO came from Tiare Smith Designs  Desk to Done sketch challenge #53. The base of the LO is corrugated glitter card stock from American Crafts, the title is a file from the Silhouette online store, embellishments include felt fusion and the use of metal brads a frame and a TH word band.  The band reads "encourage your hopes, not your fears."   I am sharing this LO for the Scraps of Color blogger challenge #6 - Use Metal.  LO #17 for 2015 complete and added to her book!

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Birthday Wishes

August is a busy birthday month for our family so today's card will be going to someone soon!  Today's card was inspired by sketch #302 from Clean & Simple Stamping,  I used embellishments and paper from my scrap pile which doesn't seem to be decreasing.  The stamp is one that I picked up from HL on clearance, the pattern paper came from Provocraft's rob and bob Celebrations  pad. Wishing you and yours a Wonderful week!

Smash Book

Today I'm sharing my rendition of a "Throwback Thursday' here on my blog!  I always have way too much going on and even more unfinished projects.  Several years ago in an effort to get my daughter to scapbook I got her a smash book and she said she'd add stuff to it.  Well she did do a few pages but she grew tired and decided that wasn't for either.  So that left me to work on it, I have my own smash books that need some attention!  So today's smash book LO is of our daughter's 11th birthday celebration.  I can't believe how much she's grown up when you look at her 13th birthday picture posted just last week!  Gone are those carefree days of pigtails and simple fun!

Happy 13th

Wow it has been a few days since I've shard on my blog, I've been busy having fun and now trying to settle back into the daily grind of life.  Today I'm sharing the only LO that I finshed while I was on my mini retreat.  I guess I finished it because I had actually started it before I left!  The LO uses pictures that I took of our baby girl as we were heading out to school last month on her birthday.  The paper and the embellishments have been in my stash for sometime with the exception of the butterfly.   I received the butterfly in a package that I received from Princess for participating in her Black History Bingo Challenge.  The titling was cut with the cameo.  We had  overnight freezing rain so the kids have a two hour school delay this morning have having all day yesterday out due to inclement weather.  We're looking forward to Spring, be safe and have a great day.

Have Some Cake

This has been a very busy week and I'm in need of some downtime, I've also committed myself to do some training at work on Saturday too.  I don't know what I was thinking since it is homecoming weekend here and we'll be going to Virginia Union University for some of their weekend festivities!

I'm excited to share today's LO for three different challenges.  Scraps of Color week #41 blog challenge was to create a project that included a birthday cake.  Scraps of Color is celebrating its 9th anniversary this month.  The LO uses some pictures that I took last Friday when we went to visit my mom for her birthday.  We always take her a cake from a bakery here, I originally had planned to cut a cake with my cricut.  I just didn't feel like pulling it out, I couldn't believe I didn't have a cake sticker!  Looking at how the picture of the LO came out I am not sure I like it, its one of  those cases where it looks better in person.

The LO's sketch was inspired by October's week #2 LO challenge over at Let's Get Sketchy,  I had fun using last week's sketch so I decided play along again this week.  Finally over at Scrap Our Stash they are having a tic tac toe challenge for this month.  I used the three items from the top row going across which included: buttons, washi tape and chipboard.  All items used have been in my stash for quite some time.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Happy 12th

I've been feeling a little under the weather but I'm still pushing myself  to work and move.  Today's LO uses pictures from out daughter's 12th birthday celebration earlier this year.  We invited three of her friends to join us at Dave and Buster's for an afternoon of fun.  She's growing up and each year it gets more challenging and expensive deciding how to celebrate!  The LO uses iClassygirl's  July Pajama Party sketch.  I tried to step up my game a little by punching the butterflies, adding glimmer mist, sitckles and pearls! The paper is some that I've had in my stash a while along with the other items used some of which I received as a RAK.  Have a great weekend!
