Saturday Musings

Hello and happy Saturday, doing a quick drive by post to share a card that I created last night during a zoom meet-up.  This card uses sketch inspiration from Atlantic Hearts challenge #508, pattern papers from Recollection Girl Squad 6x6, and My Favorite Things Buffalo Brights,  a Momenta doily die, a heart die  and a stamped sentiment.  The challenge was to create a Valentine's Day card not using any pink or red!  I really like this sketch and plan to use it again.

Thank you for your visit, continue to stay safe, enjoy your weekend and hurry back again soon.

Traveling Gift

It's Thursday which means the start of the weekend is right around the corner.  Our family has a fishing trip planned for Saturday for one of our nephews, this will be a first for me!  I was a participant in a Traveling Gift event over at Scraps of Color, today I am sharing the gift that I received.  I was blessed with this wonderful painting from Sharon Sutton, I was screaming when I opened it, I love it; the picture doesn't really do it justice.  She also included a ATC, the picture even inlcudes hidden bible verses, if you'd like to see more of Sharon's projects head on over to her blog at ,http://seraph1959.blogspot.com/.  Thank you for your visit, I hope you'll come back soon;  have a wonderful Thursday.

Celebrate Love

The blog challenge post over at Scraps of Color for Week 3 is: Glitz, Shimmer, and Shine!!--In honor of New Year's Eve/ New Year's Day Create a project with a little shimmer or go all out with LOTS of bling!! Your interpretation!

I didn't have any New Year's Eve or New Year's Day pictures so I decided to share the LO that I completed using pictures from our vow renewl ceremoy in Orlando last year.  My one  word for 2013 is renew.  My daughter was in charge of taking the pictures and since everything was happening so fast and so many people were taking pictures she didn't get very many.  I still wanted to document the experience since it was a very enjoyable event even though we shared it with about 20 other couples.  I need to go back and find out the person that was officiating name so I can list it on the LO too since she's in the picture  taken after the ceremony.  I think I blinged it out quite well, I cut the word love from the cricut cartridge Graphically Speaking (I think)!

Christmas List

Its Thursday and I should be doing a happy dance but instead I'm thinking about the million things that I need to get done! Over at Scraps of Color I decided to participate in the holiday blog challenge and this week's challenge is to create a Winter Wonderland project or your Christmas List. In the interest of time and in effort to keep up I chose to do the Christmas List. Here's my list in random order: (1) World Peace, (2) A Zoom Camera Lense, (3) I-Pad, (4) New Car, (5) External Flash (camera), (6) Scrap Area Makeover, (7) Some New Jewelry, (8) A Day of Pampering, (9) Good Health & Happiness for my family and (10) A Personal Assistant! I know that some items are a tall order but basically I'm appreciative for whatever I receive and my family usually knows what I need/want!

Wishing you and yours a happy and blessed holiday season!

Fall Fun

Over at Scraps of Color I have been participating in a "Use Your Stash" challenge. Its a three part/week step where you make page kits, create a LO using your page kit and the last part/step is to use your scraps. The last part is still a work in progress for me. I have way too many scraps and I just can't seem to get rid of them. So today I'm sharing the first LO using the page kit I made from my scrap stash. I decided to use a fall theme since I knew thats something I'd use fairly soon. The pictures in the LO of DD selecting her pumpkin and dressing it once she got home. She calls it her princess prirate pumpkin!

Scrappin' Goals

This is a LO that I initially started for a challenge issued by another Scraps of Color member. Wendi challenged us to create a LO about ouselves and our goals using her favorite colors (red, yellow and orange). Since I wasn't able to complete it by the deadline I decided to use it for my "Mirror Mirror" challenge LO for the month of May!

Black History Bingo Challenge

I created this LO as part of a Black History Bingo Challenge over at
Scraps of Color. The theme was to create a 12x12 LO that included explaining why you are Black History. This was a very good exercise for me and allowed me to use some of the pictures that I took while President Obama (then candidate) was on the campaign trail. I was a volunteer at a rally during one of his stops in Virginia. You had 13 ways you could get bingo by using the listed elements on your LO. One scrapper used all of the elements so she won the grand prize, all of the LOs were awesome!

V-Card #2

This is my second card for the valentine card challenge over at Scraps of Color. This week's challenge was to create a card using non-tradional colors (no red, pink, purple or black). I used some paper that I picked up in Hobby Lobby, a fiskars border punch and a stamp that I got from the Target $1 zone a few years ago.

V-Card #1

I finally got to do a little scrappin' not much but just a little! I've been working on a LO of my DD's most recent dance routine and I finished this card last night. This is the first in several for a weekend card challenge over on Scraps of Color. The challenge was to use red, white, and black paper only and at least one heart. I cut the double heart from the wedding cricut cartridge and then applied some rub-ons and added glitter.

Image Coloring

I have been trying my hand at coloring (I'n not that good) but I am believing practice makes perfect. I'm posting a few of the cards that contain images that I colored for Friday Night chat challenges over at Scraps of Color. This is why I haven't been scrapbooking because I'm doing everything else! I don't have any fancy markers just color pencils.

Hello Card

Photobucket
I created and submitted this card as part of a card challenge over at Scraps of Color. I created it using mostly scraps from my stash and I didn't use my cricut or any stamps! I had to repost the picture because I had inadvertently left something off and I did use the cuttlebug on that small area although you can't see it in the picture!

Season's Greetings

SOC
I completed this LO for the December challenge over at Scraps of Color. December's colorful challenge included the usage of red, green, black and gold. The title and flower are cuts from the Winter Woodland cartridge. This picture was used on our holiday cards too!
