Saturday Musings

Hello and happy Saturday, doing a quick drive by post to share a card that I created last night during a zoom meet-up.  This card uses sketch inspiration from Atlantic Hearts challenge #508, pattern papers from Recollection Girl Squad 6x6, and My Favorite Things Buffalo Brights,  a Momenta doily die, a heart die  and a stamped sentiment.  The challenge was to create a Valentine's Day card not using any pink or red!  I really like this sketch and plan to use it again.

Thank you for your visit, continue to stay safe, enjoy your weekend and hurry back again soon.

Live More Worry Less

Hello Sunday, doing a quick drive by post before I go out for a walk.  Today’s card share uses sketch inspiration from Tuesday Morning Sketches  #614,  papers from the My Mind’s Eye A Happy Heart 6x6 paper pad, a Sizzix die and a flower that has been sitting on my work space desk for a long time.  I used a Project Life card for the sentiment, I just might have to keep this card as a reminder for myself.  The struggle is real trying to use my stash and not buy anything, I really don’t need anything!  I did have to buy adhesive and a replacement blade for one of my trimmers.

Thank you for your visit, I hope you will return soon. Take care and continue to be safe.

Friday Night Chat

Today I am sharing the cards that I  made for the challenges for the Scraps of Color Friday Night Chat.  We had a really good time hanging out Friday celebrating Vivian's retirement from the Air Force, MJ was our hostess and in addition to the challenges, we had the opportunity to win some goodies.  We always have so much fun when we get together.

Challenge #1 - We created HELLO cards that included an inside note to a hero.  I was trying to use up the last few sheets of paper from the MME Moments 6x6 paper pad, I still have enough for one more card!  The hello stamp is one from Hero Arts.  Challenge #2 - We created cards using a provided sketch along with the colors pink and brown, I used paper from a Crate Paper pad, along with my cuttlebug, slice and another hero arts stamp.  Challenge #3 - We created friendship cards that had to include the use of a border punch, flowers and bling.  I used paper from The Paper Studio So-So Sweet paper pad, stickers from Me & My Big Ideas and Recollections bling.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Thank You

Today's project is one that I completed for a recent project challenge over at Scraps of Color for the Friday Night Chat Challenge group.  I used the sketch inspiration from Clean & Simple Stamping sketch number 296.  I used a kraft base, a dress form cut from the Artiste cricut cartridge, dry embossing,  roller stamp stitching, ribbon, buttons and pearls. The sentiment is a CTMH stamp.  I'm feeling a little anxious as this challenge nears the end!

Kid Zone

Hello June, can't believe  I didn't post at all last week; its not that I haven't been trying to get some play time in but sometimes the projects just don't come together.  Over at Scraps of Color during last Friday's chat  Princess challenged us to create projects centered around children.  So I stepped out my comfort zone and made these two cards using Bratz doll images.  The images were colored using color pencils, misc. embellishments including a studio G mini stamp for the ribbon and paper from the Provocraft Celebrations pad.  We were suppose to be creating cards for Sunshine Mail, I need to confirm whether mine meets the requirements, if not they'll just go into my personal stash of cards!  Wishing you a wonderful week,  I'll be back to share as time permits.

Last Day

Happy Friday, more social events this weekend so no time to play!  Today I am sharing a LO that I created as part of our daughter's middle school experience.  The LO uses pictures taken as we were about to leave home and of her running into the door of the school on the last day of school last week.  We have to do better next year with getting out of the house on time!  The sketch used is one of Tiare's from iClassygirl she shared it for us to use during last week's Friday Night Chat challenge over at Scraps of Color and I am also sharing this LO  for June's I Scrapbook, Therefore I Am challenge over at SOC too.  Have a great weekend!

Picture Perfect

Wow another LO, can you say I'm doing a happy dance!  Last night I hung out with my Scraps of Color family during the Friday Night Chat.  Our host for the evening was Tiare from iClassygirl, she posted one of her sketches and our challenge was to create a LO and  a card.  The example of her LO that she shared  included a fold so another part of the challenge was to use a fold on our LO.   Last Sunday we attended a scholarship banquet and since all of my mother-in-law's grandchildren were in attendance we took some pictures.   I used one of the pictures that I took on this LO along with some CTMH paper, trim from Recollections and I even pulled out my Cricut and cut the title using the Phrases cartridge.  I was under a tight time constraint last night and did not staple my fan-fold together until this morning.  I was reading a SOC blog post recently where the designer's post was about using staples and I used staples on this LO for the fan fold and the trim!  Another memory documented, keeping it simple and scrappin' my stash!  Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Mother's Day

Last night I was the host for the Friday Night Chat Challenge over at Scraps of Color.  It was just a few of us hanging out and creating  Mother's Day cards/projects.  I still have lots to do so I should have more to share once I'm done.  So today I'm sharing the two cards and ATC that I completed, the ATC challenge was to use just one word to describe your mother.  I chose generous because my mother has a heart of gold not just for her family but her friends and her community.  I am so thankful for my mother!  I'm so glad they finally caught the other bomb suspect, continued prayers for Boston and the law enforcement workers.  So have you started on your Mother's Day projects yet?  Are you celebrating Earth Day today?  Have a great weekend!
