Get Well Soon

Hello and happy Sunday!  The weekend goes by way too fast especially when on Saturday your schedule is booked from the start of the day until you are so tired all you can do is go to bed!  Which means you will be busy on Sunday too.  When I woke up yesterday I had a text from my DH saying he needed four cards, he said he would help but I knew that meant he needed them right away!  I used a sketch from FUSION for inspiration for two of the cards.  When he asks for cards they are usually for his fraternity brothers so I usually use the same colors with a little variation and not too many embellishments.  I used embossing folders and the Simply Sweet cricut cartridge for the sentiment.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Happy 50th

Hello and happy Wednesday, I am back today to share one of the birthday cards I made for my DH!  It is a file from the Silhouette online store, I just added some wood veneer stars and his name, used some real wood paper for his name.  Now that I am looking at it I may put it in a frame if I can find one.   Originally we had lots of plans to celebrate this day but as life and circumstances would have it, the celebration will be different.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Wednesday!

Throwback Thursday

It is Thursday and we woke up to warm temps and rain and of course I didn't want to get out of bed! We are in countdown mode as we are gearing up to celebrate the 15th birthday of our baby girl.  I am back today to share a LO using a picture of my DH and his brother.  I was going through an old album and decided to scrap the picture of them taken the day my DH graduated from college.

I really dug through my scrap stash and completed this LO using only one full sheet of paper as the base.  I used stickers from two different Momenta sticker packs, AC wood veneer stars, the wavy arrow was cut previously with my cameo and the cap using the school's colors cut using the Locker Talk cricut cartridge.

Take care and enjoy your day!

Service Project

Hello Friday and welcome to the weekend!  Today I am sharing my second LO for 2015, I am participating in a weekly FB challenge where I am hoping to complete at least 52 LOs this year.  This LO uses pictures taken from a service project that my husband's fraternity did last summer.  The sketch inspiration came from Tiare's From Desk to Done challenge.

The base of the LO is the only full sheet of paper, the remainng papers were scraps from my stash. The other embellishments have been in my stash for a while including the foam letters for the title from the $1 aisle at Target.  I cut the clipboard that has the journaling with the Fabulous Finds cricut cartridge, that is one of my favorite cricut cuts.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Wednesday Wanderings

Hello and welcome to another Wednesday Wanderings post!  This week we have been experiencing relatively nice temps, with the pollen being the biggest reason you don't want to go outside!  I've been trying to get myself ready for the next two weekends of being on roadtrips.

I am planning to go to Cassie's weekend crop next week, while trying to sort through what I wanted  to take I came across several unfinished LOs that I thought I'd try to tackle this week.  Today I'm sharing one of those LOs, it is one of the pages that I was working on for my husband's fraternity album.  The LO uses some of the pictures taken when we went to Indiana for the fraternity's 100th year celebration.  This one is done without alot of fanfare, using paper and misc. items from my stash.  The pictures and their significance is what's most important.  I probably won't get anymore unfinished projects completed before I leave for the crop so I'll just pack them up to take with me!

Wishing you a wonderfully blessed day.

Whatever Wednesday

Its Wednesday and everybody is a buzz about yesterday's elections across the county.  I'm just glad that the ads won't be all over the television and the signs can now be taken down!  We're expecting a mild Fall day today but I'm gearing up for a busy work day, the last few weeks have been exhausting.  Today I'm sharing a LO that I created using pictures of DH as he has decided to start wearing bow ties more frequently and not just during formal events.  He mastered the tying of bow ties by watching You Tube of course.  I used my cameo to cut the little bow ties, thickers, metal lettering and other embellishments from my stash.

Once Upon a Time

Its Thursday and I finally finished a LO to post, haven't felt much like scrappin' I just don't have the energy.  I do have the desire but emotionally I just can't seem to do it.  My sister is headed back to Alabama later today for more test.

So today's LO is one that I completed for day 11 of the Summertime and the Scrappin' is Easy workshop hosted by Tiare from iClassygirl, I am so far behind but I do plan to finish the workshop.  This LO uses some school age pictures of DH, I will probably use them again with some pictures of our daughter at the same age.  All items from my stash, the main challenge was to use metal embellishments, I also used washi tape and ribbon.  Take care and have a great day!

Celebrating History

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Why has it taken me months to put such a simple LO together, I started on this LO for Black History Month and just never completed it.  This LO is one that I completed last night as  Tiare hosted and scrapbooked  live on Spreecast.  We had lots of fun chatting, putting our LOs together and just hanging out.  She provided us with a sketch and page kit list for inspiration, you can see her post on her blog.

I still need to add the journaling on this LO as I need to confirm the actual date with DH.  This LO includes pictures of my DH when he met Steve Pemberton author of A Chance in the World.  Pemberton came to the University of Mary Washington to speak as part of their Black History Celebration.   He will also be the keynote speaker for their undergraduate commencement next week.   Pemberton penned his life story  as a broken boy, his desire to establish his identity and how it shaped him as a man.  My husband also learned that he and Pemberton are members of the same fraternity.  It is a good read and of course DH had him to sign a copy of his book for our daughter.

Daddy Daughter Date

Today I'm sharing my latest LO in the Anytime, Anywhere Scrapbooking Experience challenge hosted by Tiare from iClassygirl.com. I still have several LOs that I need to complete for this challenge series but I'm not sure when I'll get them done since I have alot going on right now. The pictures used in this LO were of DH and DD at Daddy Daughter Date night at Chick-fil-a last summer. I didn't go so I just used the picture that they posted on their website. The LO was fairly simple to complete since I decided to used the invitation for the title and journaling and just add a few embellishments.

More Rehab

Today I'm sharing another LO that I oompleted for DH's accident album. It uses pictures of him the first day of his rehab at a facility. All of his previous rehab had been done when he was hospitalized and at home. This was mid May almost six months since the accident. The title and embellishments were cut with the Slice, recently I've used it more than my cricut. I used a MS punch for the butterflies and the paper is from the Michael's Recollections line.

One Less Screw

Today I'm sharing another completed LO for DH's accident album; I have mixed feelings about the LO but I'm not redoing it as DH wants me to finish the album soon. The LO uses pictures from his leg a few days after his last surgery where the doctor removed one of the screws in his knee because he was experiencing pain and it was prohibiting his rehab progess. I used thickers, misc paper, a flower from my stash and the journaling tag was cut using my slice. It is also one of my latest LOs for the Anytime, Anywhere, Scrapbooking Experience challenge being hosted by Tiare over at iClassygirl.

Although I've shared this particular photograph before I just completed the LO using the photograph today. This picture was taken on Christmas Day 2010 which was day twenty of DH's hospital stay. I used misc. papers and embellishments from several different page kits.

Fresh Flowers

Today I'm sharing another LO for DH's accident journal, it uses pcitures of some of the fresh flowers that he received while he was hospitalized. This is actually the 5th LO that I've completed this year. I am on a roll, still trying use my stash of misc. stickers, paper and embellishments. I have completed all five LOs without turning on my cricut! I'll share some of the LOs here on my blog, others will be shared on other sites and some will go directly into the album. Some of the LOs for his accident journal are too graphic to share publicly.

No Limits

Today I'm sharing my first LO of the Anytime Anywhere Scrapbooking Experience being hosted on Scraps of Color. I am now a believer that pagekits are the key to more organized and efficient scrapping. Now I've just got to work on getting some together, I just have a hard time since I usually scrap around my pictures. This LO is of DD and DH practicing her tennis skills. I chose this title as a testament for my daughter to demonstrate the resilence of her father. I wanted to demonstrate to to her that despite life's limits you can still excel to new heights. My DH is no longer able to run but he still wants to be a part of all that she does. They just don't go to the courts without me!

Happy Birthday

Today in honor of my DH's birthday I'm sharing one of the LOs that will be included in his accident recovery album. We are grateful for the progress made in this journey and thankful for the milestones. Although he'll never be 100% we still rejoice in all blessings. I'm also sharing one side of the altered CD that DD gave him.

Dad's Day

This is a LO using a picture taken of DD and DH on Father's Day. We were just about to leave my in-laws after dinner and I realized I hadn't taken any pictures all day. She had given him his gift earlier that day while he was still in bed. We are thankful for his recovery progress, he was only using a cane when this picture was taken.

I used paper from a heirloom paper pack and a MS family punch and the cricut cartridge Don Juan for the title.

Adore

Adore
I found this picture on my mother-in-law's camera and decided to scrap it as I enjoy scrapping pictures of my DH and DD together. I'm not sure where I was when the picture was taken or what they were suppose to be doing but it's just another display of their affection for each other.
